The best food in Grenada has no website, no menu, no sign on the door, just a line outside.
And if you don't know why you're in it, you're already in the wrong place. This isn't resort
food, this isn't tourist food, this is where locals take their own people to eat. Passed down,
protected and not easy to find unless you know somebody. I found those places and what I found
wasn't just food, it was the real taste of Grenada. This is the side of the island most people never
see. We're here in Grenada checking out some local food shops. We're here at a place called
Wall Street. There's a lot of food vendors, food trucks, so we're gonna go check it out. Let's go
see what they have and what we feel for to eat today. I want to show you guys Grenada. This
country is such a beautiful country. The people are welcoming. I see the reason why they call it
the island of spice because the food is very flavorful. I love the food here. Let's go check
it out and see what we can get today. This shop they have jerk chicken, jerk pork. $30 is 15
Canadian dollars. They have oxtail for $35. So anything you see, any price you see, half of that
is the Canadian conversion. Jerk smoking, the butt smoking here. Food smell good. I might check out
this one. Welcome to International Cuisine where you get your the best of your barbecue pork and
chicken, stew pork, fried rice, loaming. We have the garlic bread that we make special and also
the best are the jerk chicken. The jerk chicken is the best? Yeah. Okay, okay. It's really good.
That's the stew pork. The stew pork? Yeah. Yeah that looks really good. I probably tried the stew pork.
We also have some barbecue pig tail as well. Barbecue pig tail? Yeah. Do you mix it? We mix, yeah.
Okay, I'm gonna do the barbecue pig tail and the stew pork. The food smell really good. I'm excited
to try it. So we have the fried rice, we have the loaming. We have some steamed veg also on the side. So you have a choice.
Nice, nice. Pig tail. It's barbecue pig tail? That's a pig tail and that's a local pork. Okay, nice.
All right, so what I'll do now. Yeah. I'll give you some of this green. You'll enjoy.
Yes, okay, nice, nice. Make some some of the pork get away, man. All right.
We're trying the pig tail with the barbecue pork. Look at that. Smells so good.
The pork is so soft. Oh my gosh.
Grenada, the island of spice. I see why they call this country the island of spice.
I can't stop eating this. Soon I'll have to try the pork. It's soft. Good food makes me happy.
With a nice view of the beach. Look at this. Kids playing. Amazing beach. Just pulled up at the
KFC in Grenada. The line is long. Reminds me of Jamaica. So we're gonna go check it out and see
how it is. Having the KFC in Grenada for the first time. Trying Grenadian KFC. Flavorful.
This guy in the airport with him. You're happy, happy, happy. So good.
The spicy tastes like I had, man. Yeah, it tastes exactly like it. So good.
This KFC in Grenada, so good. Reminds me of Jamaica. Actually really good. Me too.
You like it, mama? You like it, Kiki? How's your KFC? How's it? It's really good.
How's your KFC, Shadi? Tastes good, man. This reminds me of Jamaica. This spicy, so, so good.
The spicy chicken. KFC? It's spicy? This is real KFC still. The Grenadians,
Grenadians, they can do their thing still. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I do food,
travel and adventure videos. If you wanna, if you like food and you like to travel,
you like to go to resorts, you like to explore different destinations, I need you to hit that
subscribe button. We're pulling up at a little local spot right here. My friend Michael said
they have soup. So we're gonna go check out this guy's soup and see what it's like. I wanna check
out some food stuff here just for you guys to see. And I'm gonna try to see if this place is
really the land of spice. So we're gonna try some local stuff.
Probably the, the beef with the split peas.
The pig foot with the pig foot and split. Meat and soup? Alright, try that one then.
I'll try that one. One? Nah, just one. Yeah.
You can mix it up. Let me see, let me see the pot. Nice and rich, man. It says just meat and soup?
Just meat and soup. Okay, okay. Just meat and soup. Alright. Thank you, sir. Thank you.
I'm here trying the pig foot and split peas soup. Smells really good, actually.
It's actually really good. Wow. There's only meat and soup in this. Pig foot's soft.
The land of spice. This soup actually tastes really good. Yeah, yeah. No joke.
The flavor's still on point. Alright. The food so far in Grenada, I give it a thumbs up still.
Word on the street is, when you're in St. Andrews and you want fried chicken,
this is where the locals come. B's Crispy Chicken. No tourist trap, no fancy sign out front,
just a spot people know. Let's go check them out. So I'm getting chicken strips and fries from this
local shop here in St. Andrews, Grenada. This is the island of spice, so I like trying their food.
What's your name? Sheena. Sheena? Yeah. What's the name of your shop? B's Crispy. B's Crispy? Okay,
perfect. They have a Fanta banana flavor. This must be good. How much for this? Three dollars.
Okay. I'm gonna try it. Fifteen dollars. Fifteen? Okay. So I'm getting chicken strips and fries
with this little Fanta for fifteen dollars. Not bad. Half of that is approximately what?
Seven dollars fifty Canadian. I'm gonna try their fries. Come look at it.
These fries are good. I'll try the chicken now.
Juicy. I like it. Thank you. You fried it? I did. Island of spice, so good.
This right here, Fusion Restaurant and Bar. This is what a community spot looks like.
Natalie runs this place and people don't just come to eat, they come back.
Look, they have the street vibes on the shelf. It's like a bar and a restaurant.
This is the hot spot? Yeah. All right. So Natalie's doing...
Nice. Nice and crispy. I know. We ordered fries as well. I can't wait to try it.
And that's the best. Authentic. Yeah. You know the pot makes it taste different?
It makes it more crunchy. It gives it a cleaner fry. Yeah. And look at the oil. The oil is so
clean. Nice and clean. Clean. Yep. How long have you been here? This is two years. Two years?
Oh wow. Usually the fish is more crunchy. I don't like to fry my fish until dry.
You don't like it? Just leave it just enough to cook. Yeah. Not too dry because it tends to be...
Yeah. People don't enjoy this. They say it tastes extra. Yeah. So you just give it a little fry and
you keep the moisture in there. So it's nice and moist, not dried out. Nice and moist. Nice. Nice.
Nice. I'm so excited to try this. Yeah. And the sweet and sour chicken. Sweet and sour chicken.
So usually we just have the chicken here and then we put it in the sauce after.
Okay. So then we have a little sauce. We cooked some already today. So this is the sauce. Just a
little bit because we did some... The sauce looks rich. Yeah. And we usually pre-fry the chicken.
It's almost sold out man. It looks busy. Yeah. Oh nice. Look crunchy. Yes. This is the fish with
the fries. I'm trying the food that we just got from the shop. It smells so good.
This food is so good. The fish. Yummy. Oh my gosh. This is yummy.
The land of spice. The things to do in Grenada. You've got to pull up at a local cookshop
and try the food. Yeah. This is a good option.
This is the aftermath of good food. Dumpy said we're not passing this one. This is the south
spot. South is pickled meat with lime, cucumber and hot peppers. Caribbean street food. Never
tried it. But Dumpy is vouching. So we're pulling up. So how do they make it? How do they make the
sauce? Meat and seasoning with some sauce. So they cook it first and then? They cook it first
and you place it in that sauce. Okay. Right. With vegetables and cucumbers and parsley and
this kind of stuff. Yeah. Right. And you get it. How is it?
This is a Grenadian food tour. I'm trying sauce.
Nice. There's a nice hint of spice in this. It's the crab. Nice hint of spice.
It's actually really good. It tastes way better than it looks.
The look was intimidating but it actually tastes so good.
Grenada, if you've never, I'm going to say this a thousand times, if you have never
thought about visiting Grenada, you definitely have to put it on your bucket list because this
country, I think it's underrated. More people need to see it and come check out this place.
The food, amazing. The people, amazing. The beach, crazy. Crazy nice. All right, let's go to the next
spot. Make up yourself, you know man. Grenada and bridging, you know. We heard about this spot,
Boogie B's bus-up shot joint. Small, local, that's all I needed to know. Can you tell me what bus-up
shots? Because I don't know what it is. Okay. Well, a bus-up shot is, it's basically called
Paratha. Yeah. Right. That's the professional name for it but we call it bus-up shot. So it's
no peas.
Let's go try some bus-up shot and see if it's worth the hype.
I'm here trying the bus-up shot meal. Looks amazing, smells amazing. Let's see how this is.
I had to go in for the second bite immediately. Fantastic. Authentic Grenadian.
That's sweet. Four different options, bus-up shot, curry chicken.
Little thing on the side here. So good. It's amazing. We're gonna check out this
local food shop right here. Recommended by Michael and the great Dumpy here.
This one we're checking out? Yeah, we'll check out this one. Okay, what do they have?
They call that Nelson. What do you think I should try here?
Best thing, what I'm used to eating, I'm used to eating the wrap. The wrap? All right, so we're
just pulling up at this spot. It's called Nelson. It's recommended by my Grenadian friends here.
We're gonna go see how it is and how the food is. Try the grill. The grill? Yeah.
What about the fried chicken? Do they mix it? Well, I guess you make a mix it. If I could mix
a grill with fry. Yeah. And what kind of sides they have? Seasoned parsley. These are the sides.
Seasoned parsley rice, baked Cajun potato with cheddar cheese and steamed vegetable. Which one
do you think? My Grenadian friend here, he knows the good food, you know, so he has to recommend it
for me. Probably the cheddar cheese with the Cajun potato. Cajun, yeah? Yeah. Better than the rice?
Ain't too big the rice, ain't too big. You want anything? I'm okay, I'm okay. You're okay? All right.
You drinking anything? You get drinks? Anything you recommend, you're a place, you know, man.
I'm gonna come in there and then after we can come back and get this.
So we're here in beautiful Grenada, checking out the local stuff. We're here in a little store.
Yeah. Which one? Yellow. Yellow? Yeah.
I've never seen this flavor before. Green apple.
I'm gonna try this, that, this. What else we're trying?
I've never tried the Caribbean blue though. How is that one? I ain't like it so much. I'd rather the original.
The original? Yeah. Okay, I'll try the original. You know what, I think I'll try the original.
This is a local branded beer here in Grenada. I like to stick to the original. Yo, you like
the original? Yeah. I tried the original already, so I'm gonna try the blue and see how it is.
Respect. $8.50 for three beers. Not bad. Yeah, man. Respect. Cheers, you know. The beer tastes good.
I actually like the blue, you know. Yeah, man. The blue tastes good. I even like it more than the original.
I think you guys should definitely check out Grenada if you have a chance.
I think this place is seriously underrated. Very nice people.
How's the Cajun potato with something? He said the Cajun potato is better than the rice.
It's better than the rice, yeah. Yeah? We're not finished already, sorry. No food? So, what are we doing right now?
Right now, there are wraps, burgers, fried chicken and chips, grilled fish and fries, grilled fish and salad, quesadillas.
So, no rice?
What would you recommend for the food? Well, the wrap is nice. Chicken wrap with cheese.
Chicken wrap with cheese. Yeah? Yeah.
Thank you so much. Appreciate it. Let's try the wrap that was recommended by the great Dumpy.
Firm. Feel heavy, too.
Tastes good, man. It's good.
That's actually really good. What kind of sauce is on it?
Yeah? I'm gonna ask her. What kind of sauce is it?
Excuse me. Excuse me. What kind of sauce is on it? The sauce? Yeah. Garlic sauce, thousand island dressing.
Garlic sauce and thousand island dressing. It's really good. Thank you. You're welcome. Appreciate it.
The wrap? Holy, it's so good. Good recommendation, you know. Good recommendation. Respect, man. Respect, man.

So good. I wish we got two. It's so fluffy. The sausage has a nice hint of spice, too.
Everything is so flavorful here. Let me try the fish.
