WITHOUT PRODUCT REVIEWS, SPONSORS, DONATIONS AND STICKER SALES, I’d have to go back to work and not do ANY videos, because you can’t live without any income.
Henry improves his garage floor by replacing messy cardboard with salvaged luxury vinyl flooring and works on restoring a quad, adding headlights and troubleshooting a fuel system issue caused by contaminated gasoline.
Hey guys, how you doing? It's Henry, and more Zillows. Welcome to another episode.
As you have all seen my garage over the years, it's always a complete disaster.
I take large boxes and I save them and I cut them so that I could line my floors
with the cardboard. Because of all the machines that I always keep in the garage,
you have oil leaks here and there.
Carburetor spray, I clean things goes right on the ground
because underneath the cardboard is the cracked concrete. It's not level.
It would take thousands of dollars to repave the entire garage.
Which of course I'm not going to do, anytime soon,
unless I get free bags of concrete somewhere.
Because of all the cardboard patches of old carpet floor mats in the fall,
which we're at now, leaves blow into the garage,
and it's a pain to blow them out because they get stuck on the cardboard.
And when I blow with an electric blower or a gas blower,
the cardboard flies all over the place. So it's a complete mess.
Recently, my neighbor had a garage sale.
And she had two packages of this unused but slightly damaged flooring.
Luxury vinyl floor.
I also got another box from another listing somewhere that we're giving it for free.
It was brand new in the box, excellent condition,
but it's of different mill thickness than those two. Either way.
This luxury vinyl flooring is gonna look
and feel way better than cardboard and floor mats on the ground.
I'm gonna.
Empty out most of the stuff in the garage, at least in the middle,
and just put this luxury vinyl flooring down.
And that way, it'll have a nice surface. Last of the final nice days outside.
So Boba the furry seal is watching.
This is all the cardboard. Blew the garage out.
I just cleared out this area
because I don't think I have enough wood anyway to cover the whole thing.
So just the main part here where I, do most of my ----.
So you can see the condition of my garage floor. It's cracked.
Raised up in areas.
Not level.
So I would need like cement and stuff to fix it, which is very expensive.
Time-consuming.
Normally, you would stagger.
Vinyl flooring, you know,
you cut like half so that you don't have that one big slab, but.
I think, given the length of this.
I don't think I have much choice because I don't have that much.
I'm just going to put it straight across.
See how far I get.
There it is.
So this side is the cheaper brand, and half of the planks are water damaged.
So they're swollen, so they don't they don't clip into place.
This is the little bit more expensive one, although not the best.
I think this is only like twelve mil.
You want to get like the twenty-two mil, which is the thickness of the wear.
But these are a lot more better quality. They snapped into place very easily.
They don't move around as much.
But you know what? I just wanted to try vinyl flooring.
These planks move around because, like I said, they don't clip into place very well.
That sure beats cardboard, doesn't it?
And I kind of cleaned up my garage a little bit.
Look at that! You could actually walk.
One day I'll redo the whole garage, but not anytime soon.
This will do for now.
Looks the same to me.
I think I want to put some lights, on my quad.
Will it start?
Wow.
So it does have a tail light. It's kind of illuminated.
It's gonna tap into that power supply,
and that's some headlights, maybe a spare tail light too.
I just changed the fuel lines on here. They were very old and crusty.
These are my old Ford F-150 fog lights. I think they still work.
I want to see if I can mount these on the front, so I have headlights.
Have to figure out a way to find a pigtail that'll fit these inputs.
Gotta do some voltage testing.
Check it out.
Now I got front headlights. They're pretty cool. They're not that bright, but.
It's very small battery, you know, but now my quad doesn't start.
Check for spark. Very good spark.
The only thing I did differently was that I changed the fuel line.
And I flipped the fuel filter the way it's supposed
to be before the flow was going the wrong direction.
Really matter that much, but it matters a little. But anyway, it should be correct.
And the only one thing was, I added gas.
So I started crank it and crank it. It just would not start until I blew.
Ether into the filter, and it started with that, which tells you what.
Tells you that the gas is bad. Probably has water in it.
So I poured water into the gas tank.
Now I'm going to drain the gas tank and put fresh fuel in there.
But I drained all the gas from the gas tank, and it looks okay.
Look, there's no water or anything, but it smells funny.
Smells funky, so now I just.
Filled up this thing with fresh gas, and it smells different than that.
This smells like gas.
The other one smelled like water and gas. You know what I mean.
So of course, drain the gas tank, right?
But you still need to drain the bowl of the carburetor.
So I loosened this nut here, and hardly anything came out.
I don't know why this looks like missing a bolt or something.
And on the other side,
I tried blowing compressed air into that fuel line, and it seems like it.
Was stopped like it won't allow anything in, so is it not getting any fuel?
Only one way to find out. Let's try it.
Spray.
So it works with spray, so it's not getting gas.
Smells really funky. The exhaust.
I think finally the good gas mixed with the bad gas in the bowl.
In that beginning, when I was burning it out, finally burned out.
So everything now in the bowl is the fresh gas.
And now it's running. I'm gonna let it run for a bit.
See if there's any other problems while it's charging the battery,
and I think we did it.
Because of bad gas.
The gas looked fine. Smells funny.
If it smells funny, it's probably saturated with water.
We'll leave those two jugs of old gas there. See if it eventually.
Settles down. You can see the line where the water gathers up on the bottom.
Now we got headlights, so when it snows this winter,
I can ride it in the snow for the very first time.
I was gonna sell this for 500 bucks,
but I think it's cool enough to keep for a while.
You know, at least let me ride in the snow and see how it is.
Cadet has turned out to be a very reliable mower.
We've used this to pull trailers full of wood.
Back and forth, back and forth, several times.
Mowed the lawn front and back several times. Never a hiccup.
It runs great. It's become one of my favorite machines, which is why even
if I don't sell it for thirteen seventy-five, I don't care. I'll keep it.
