Indian fast food.
It is nice.
It looks delicious.
Cheese Pav Bhaji.
Oh, look at that.
You can tell that bread is just coated in butter.
Oh.
Hey guys.
Good afternoon.
Greetings from Mumbai, India.
This is my first day here.
And I'm going to tell you what.
I am going to go on a little bit of a street food tour.
Apparently there is some really good street food stalls around here.
So my plan is to go to a few of them.
And it is just to go for a wander.
Kind of give you my first impressions of what it is like to be here in India.
In Mumbai specifically.
A city I've never visited.
And yeah go eat some delicious street food.
So that is what this video is going to be all about.
So so far guys I'm noticing the streets are really busy here.
Lots of tuk-tuks.
Lots of honking.
This is the India I remember very well.
It didn't take long to get to the beach.
Check this out guys.
So I'm already here at the beach.
It was probably less than a five minute walk from my hotel and it is kind of sprawls in
all directions.
I'm actually surprised at how long it goes.
Over here there is a bit of action.
If you look behind me there is some people playing cricket.
But far off in the distance way back here is where there is a really large crowd gathered.
And that is actually where I'm heading.
I believe that is where the street stalls are located.
So let's go there.
There is not too many people swimming but there is a couple of dudes in there enjoying
the waves.
I wonder what the water is like.
The biggest shock as a Canadian coming to Mumbai, India in November is the weather.
This is literally a 30 degree change.
No actually more than that.
A 34 degree change.
Oh hello.
What do you believe?
Hi.
Okay we have some more friends.
Hey guys.
Oh my gosh those boys are so cute and hilarious.
Just so friendly.
Anyways, like I was saying the biggest shock for me right now is adjusting to this weather.
Going from zero degrees to 34.
I'm already sweating but um yeah I brought some water.
I'm probably going to have to buy some more.
So cricket is a sport that really intrigues me because I grew up really enjoying baseball.
No idea about the rules but I'd love to go to a cricket match someday.
Do any of you guys have a favorite team whether in India or elsewhere?
Please let me know.
So my first impressions of Juhu here in Mumbai are very favorable.
Locals have been extremely friendly.
I've had so many people come up and say hi.
They've wanted to have their picture taken or just talk for a bit.
Um I just feel very welcome here so far and uh it is really setting a nice tone because
this is day one of the trip and if it continues like this I'm going to have an awesome adventure
here in India.
This is just this beach is just really cool.
Like I see families out playing building sandcastles.
I see couples going on dates.
I see kids playing cricket and swimming in the water throwing mud at each other.
I mean there is just a lot of fun happening here.
And here is where all of the action is guys.
Look at all of the people out enjoying the beach.
And the main mission was to find the street food and I think I have.
How much is a Pav Bhaji?
One sixty.
One sixty?
One hundred.
Oh wow look at that.
It smells so good.
Look at the skilled guy.
What a master.
Pav Bhaji, pav, pizza, sandwich.
Yes.
It looks delicious.
Yeah.
It looks delicious.
This onions.
This is papad and cheese.
Oh papad and cheese.
Special.
Special cheese pav bhaji.
Cheese pav bhaji.
Oh look at that.
With the cheese on top.
Yeah.
Special one.
Yeah.
What an exciting moment trying Pav Bhaji for the first time and look guys it has been loaded
up with cheese.
I can't wait to try this.
First bite over here.
I've got lots of sauce on it.
You can tell that bread is just coated in butter.
Oh.
Oh my gosh that is so good.
So spicy.
Very delayed onset with the spice.
Mmmm.
I'm loving that.
It is like a flavor explosion.
There is just so much spice.
So much flavor happening.
I really love how the bun just kind of sops it all up.
Just a great way to be starting off this food tour so far here in Mumbai.
Delicious street food.
Okay guys and that pav bhaji came to 160 Rupees which is just over 2 US dollars.
I'd say that is excellent value.
There is a lot to eat and I'm not even close to being done at the moment.
So if I could summarize pav bhaji in basically just one word it is comfort.
Very much comfort food.
It is the kind of food you would want to have when you're hungry, when you're looking for
something filling.
It is delicious and like I said I'm not even finished yet.
I've still got a long ways to go.
And guys don't forget to grab yourself some cold water to go along with it because it
is already hot and humid.
You start having this spicy dish and you start sweating even more profusely if you can imagine
that.
How much is that?
Pani Puri.
Here is the menu.
Wonderful.
Pani Puri.
30 Rupees.
Yes please.
Pani Puri.
Thank you.
Two kinds of sauce dipped in.
Wow.
Pani Puri.
Guys time to try this Pani Puri.
You get 6 for 30 Rupees which is less than 50 cents.
So really good deal.
And this is going to be my first time to try it.
Here it is.
Alright I have no idea how to eat this but I think it might be a one-biter.
Mmmmm.
Oh my gosh.
It is a flavor explosion.
Oh.
The first thing I tasted was that it was sweet and then the more I rolled it around in my
mouth and chewed it I started feeling the spice so it is a real combination of flavors.
Quite delicious.
I can see how you could have 6 of these.
Okay next guys I'm going to try Kulfi Falooda Rabi.
You want one?
One please.
This is Kulfi.
Oh there is a Kulfi here.
Look at that.
It is being sliced.
Malai Kulfi.
A Malai Kulfi.
Yeah.
Wow.
He is slicing it up right in front of my eyes.
Into the bowl it goes.
Milk.
Milk is next.
Yeah.
Milk.
Cuscus.
Yeah.
Oh that looks very nice.
Very nice.
This syrup.
Syrup.
Yeah.
Rose syrup.
Very nice syrup.
Milk.
And cashew nuts.
Yeah.
Wow.
Milk and cashew nuts.
And more syrup.
Rose syrup.
This pista.
Oh wow.
Kesar pista.
Wow.
It is incredible how much syrup they're putting on it.
It looks beautiful.
Wow.
Very nice.
How much was that?
120.
Thank you.
Okay guys I'm going to be trying the most colorful dish of the evening.
Finally a dessert.
So guys it is like a rainbow in a bowl.
A rainbow in a bowl.
Look at me mixing that up here.
Oh, there is some chunky bits and there is also some watery parts.
It kind of reminds me of something I had in Malaysia in Singapore called Cendol.
It reminds me very much of that in fact.
Take a look at this.
Woah.
Hey guys time for me to try the first bite.
I'm really excited.
Mmmm.
Oh my gosh that is so sweet.
So rich.
So creamy.
It has a thicker consistency than I was even expecting.
Mmmm.
I would even describe it a different.
Hello.
How are you?
I'm fine.
What is your name?
Ah, nice to meet you.
I'm Sam from Canada.
This is delicious.
And also making lots of new friends out here during this street food tour.
Oh, I got a nice big thick piece there.
That was tasty.
Mmmm.
This is definitely satisfying my sweet tooth guys.
And I should let you know about the price.
This came to 120 Rupees.
Mmmm.
Definitely recommend it.
So after letting it sit for a while guys you can see the consistency has changed.
It has certainly melted.
Look at that.
How much is the mango green cola?
Ice cola.
Yes, please.
Can I get one mango green?
Thank you very much.
And guys look at all of the colorful bottles of syrup that you can choose from.
I believe mine is going to come from this green bottle.
Is it ice sir?
Yeah, ice water.
Oh, it looks delicious.
Oh wow look at that.
So there is the block of ice.
It goes into the machine and now it is going to be crushed.
Woah.
Check that out.
Wow.
That is how you make fresh ice.
I love the wheel.
The spinning wheel.
So he shapes it now with his hands.
Into the cup it goes.
Oh wow look at that.
It is being contoured.
And here is the syrup.
Woah.
The syrup.
That is the green syrup guys.
It is a very artificial looking green.
Okay.
And that is 50 Rupees.
Thank you very much Sir.
So guys this is 50 Rupees.
One of the cheapest street food items I've got so far on this tour.
So guys I'm sitting down on the ground to try this.
I have no idea how we'd be able to have it otherwise.
Like this looks like a very messy thing.
Check this out.
So I'm bobbing it up and down a little bit here.
Woah.
Look at that green syrup going down.
And this is my first time ever to film a food video by myself so I am learning a few new
skills.
It is a lot trickier.
I prefer to have a cameraman but look at all of that syrup coming down.
Woah.
Okay, I'm going to attempt to have a bite here.
Oh.
Woah.
That is some intense syrup.
Very sweet.
I'm not really tasting the mango.
It is more of an artificial flavor.
Yeah, it is very refreshing though.
I'll give it that.
It is a flavor I'd probably go for something different the next time.
I'm not loving this green mango but I am loving the fact that I'm having a refreshing dessert
here to cool off because it is still very hot even though the sun has just gone down.
Mmmmm.
So just to let you know some of the other flavors you can get.
They have butterscotch, they have chocolate, they have strawberry, they have mixed Gola
which I have no idea what it is and they have orange Gola.
Those are the six main flavors that you can choose from.
So I'm noticing now that it is evening there is a lot more people coming to check this
out.
Way more people here.
Which is good for business.
So I'm trying Sev Puri.
For 60 Rupees.
Yes please.
One.
Oh wow.
This is how it is prepared.
So salt, masala, tomatoes, onions.
Oh wow.
Look at that sauce.
It looks delicious.
This lemon.
Oh lemon is next.
Cheese darling.
Cheese.
That is some serious attention to detail.
Yes.
Thank you very much.
I'm trying it for the first time.
Yeah, sure.
First time you take.
Yummy na?
Mmmmm.
Wow.
Delicious.
It is delicious.
Amazing.
It is spicy.
It is also sweet.
Yeah.
I can taste the lemon as well.
And you've got the crunch.
That is so good.
It is very spicy too.
Very delicious.
Sweet.
Okay.
You want some sweet sauce too.
What is the name of the channel?
Uh Samuel and Audrey.
You know Mark Vincent Food Ranger.
I know both of them.
Do you watch them?
You can say hi to Mark and Trevor.
Hi Mark Vincent.
Hey Mark and Trevor.
These are your friends.
This is my last one.
And my last bite.
I'm getting really full.
Okay.
Enjoy.
Mmmmm.
Have fun.
Delicious.
Thank you.
And they put some sweet sauce on top.
And wow it changes the whole game.
It almost tastes a bit more like a dessert now.
But overall it is very delicious.
I like this one even more than the first puri I tried.
This one is called Zeb Puri.
The first one I tried was Fani Puri.
I honestly like the Zeb Puri even more.
And this is also 60 Rupees and you get 6 balls.
So excellent value.
Less than one US dollar.
Can't go wrong with this dish.
Okay guys just wrapping up the street food tour and my first day here in Mumbai.
That was just pretty much an incredible experience.
Like the thing I love about coming back to India and traveling here is that every time
you step out the door it is going to be an adventure.
You're going to meet people that are going to be charismatic or have these interesting
encounters with locals.
And that is exactly what happened today.
I also got to eat some really cool street food for the first time and my overall impressions
of this area in Mumbai are very good.
Like the beach is just an incredible place to hang out.
So if you're coming to India definitely consider going to this area and also trying the street
food.
So anyways guys thanks so much for watching and we will have more food and travel videos
from India coming soon.
Ciao!
