Copilot for Excel just came out with a lot of great financial tools that you should know about.
So you can see I'm in an Excel spreadsheet and I'm going to click on the Copilot icon on the right.
That of course is going to open up the Copilot window.
So you'll see the normal Copilot window.
Now if you follow my mouse I'm going to click on this icon here
and you'll start to see the new connectors.
So it always connected to the web and the work was always there
but notice how these connectors just came in recently.
Morningstar, Canva, CBInsight Strategy, Dilupa, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, HubSpot,
Intercom, Linear, LSNG, Moody's, Notion, PitchBook, and SAP Global.
So I'm sure you recognize some of those.
Now I actually have an account with Morningstar.
So I'm going to connect to Morningstar.
Now it'll probably ask you to log on to whatever account that you're trying to get into.
So you may have to have a separate subscription to those different accounts.
So I just connected mine to Morningstar.
Now watch what this really means.
So now we can ask Copilot to provide data from Morningstar or from those other connectors.
So I'm going to say in your prompt use the name of the connector.
So I'll say using Morningstar make a list of 10 top ETFs that Morningstar recommends.
So make sure you mention that connector in your prompt.
Now in this case you want to give it permission.
So I'm going to say allow selected if that comes up.
And that might come up a couple times.
I'll pick an allow selected again and allow selected again.
So just keep on doing that if that keeps on coming up.
And then notice how it gave me great suggestions of ETFs.
Then of course you have a starting point.
You know, obviously you'll look further into those.
But that actually used data from Morningstar to provide the list of the ETFs.
I'm going to go to another sheet.
And now let's try another example of using Morningstar within Copilot.
So this time I'll say using Morningstar show me a list of 20 A-rated stocks that pay dividends.
The great part is you can put whatever criteria that you want here.
But I say using Morningstar show me a list of 20 A-rated stocks that pay dividends.
So you can type in your own criteria here right in the Copilot.
Now it says what do I mean by A-rated?
I mean Morningstar, 5-star, 5-star stocks.
So I can just type in one here.
Or if you miss something else you can type in something else there.
Again I'll click where it says allow selected.
Allow selected again.
These connectors literally just came out today on June 25th.
So I'm pretty excited about it.
It can certainly help with your financial needs and your investing research.
Again I'll say allow selected.
Oh so look at the list it gave me.
It has how they ranked them, the ticker symbol, the company, the sector, the dividend evidence,
Morningstar rating evidence, and primary Morningstar source.
Of course I can ask for other columns beyond that.
But this gave me a tremendous list that I can start to investigate further.
So now I do have a pro account with Microsoft 365.
And I have the Copilot enhancement or add-on.
So you know check yours out.
But this is pretty strong.
In Excel you're going to go to your Copilot window.
You'll click on this icon here and you'll start to see many new sources.
I'm sure they're going to add to that list.
But obviously we recognize some of those like Morningstar, Moody's, LS&G, right?
So I'm sure you have seen some of those.
So this way you can connect Copilot to your favorite financial tools
and start to use Copilot with your investment research.
Let's try another one of the new connectors.
So once again I'm on my Copilot window and I'll click on the connector icon here.
And another one I can show relatively easily is my Google Calendar.
So I'll pick on connect there.
And then of course it wants me to log on to my Google Calendar.
So I'll continue with that.
And it'll have me log on.
And I'll click on select all.
So Copilot can have access to those features on my Google Calendar.
So with these connectors you probably already have to have a subscription
or an account with those sources.
So my Google Calendar is now connected.
So I'm going to come over here to the Copilot prompt.
And again you want to refer to that connector in your prompt.
So I'm going to say using my Google Calendar.
Show me upcoming webinars for the next five weeks.
Show the title, the date, and the time.
Again I want to pick on allow selected.
So it looks like that's going to happen with these connectors.
At least for now.
This is the first day that they're out.
So I'm sure there's going to be changes to this.
I'll pick on allow selected again.
It gave me the list that I was looking for.
It has the title of the event, the date, and the time.
It did go back and make it look better as well.
So this is pretty strong.
I was able to directly connect my Google Calendar to Copilot.
And then therefore use the data in Excel.
Once again you're going to click on this icon to see the new connectors.
I'm sure they're going to keep on adding more to that list.
