Dodgers Forced Into IMPOSSIBLE Decision...
Oct 15, 2026
The Los Angeles Dodgers are prepping to make
the most difficult decision in franchise history
as they are prepping to make a shocking move surrounding Shohei Ohtani.
We're going to be breaking down this decision,
what it comes down to, and why this may actually
be the best possible idea.
Folks, we have a lot to break down here today
as there is a big conversation ongoing surrounding
this entire Dodgers postseason.
And as of right now, there are a lot of things
that have to be discussed that we're going
to be talking about surrounding Shohei Ohtani here in this video.
Before we do get into it, if you haven't already,
be sure to drop a sub here on the channel.
We're getting videos out here for you every single day surrounding
this Dodgers team, no matter the situation.
And we have a lot that is still on the way.
You will not want to miss it.
We're going to have it all right here as it drops.
But we need to get into it. And looking at this and the way
that things have been playing out, you see this right here.
from Talking Baseball
and Ken Rosenthal the Dodgers will consider benching Shohei Ohtani for
game three of the NLCS per Ken Rosenthal now
this decision doesn't come easy because if you put
benching and Otani in the same sentence normally people would think you
are crazy but if we go and
look at how not even just this postseason
but this second half of the season has gone it has been a
lingering issue that we have seen
and Dave Roberts even went as far as to say this after yesterday's
game he just doesn't feel great
and we all know he didn't you know there's no hiding it there's no
surprise but right now right now Shohei Ohtani
is not at all helping this team and in fact he's
hurting when he's up to the plate it's almost as if he is a guaranteed out
and I know that's crazy to
say about Shohei Otani but it's gotten to that point right now
and Dave Roberts continued on
this saying he certainly has earned that conversation
and deserves it and the idea of
being able to stay in the lineup
but if you're looking at what's best for the Dodgers they're
down 0-2 against the Brewers there's a pretty easy decision to make
and I think that it is
ultimately at least for one game sitting out
Shohei Ohtani now we'll touch on why here in just
one sec why they're capable of doing
this and would likely very much actually help out the
Dodgers significantly it's still a tough decision to make
and you know you're looking where the
timeline has gone you dropped the fifth down
in the NLDS for game three ultimately stayed there
benching was discussed now after no help once again
on the offense even after moving down in
the lineup you need someone in there who can spark the offense
and even you know even though if it's
not Otani this entire offense really hasn't
been as great as it should be but right now you're
looking at this last game from Otani just absolutely nothing
and you're looking at his entire you know
pretty much postseason I guess we could say it's
been very very close to this and Dave Roberts has
something to think about when it comes to Otani
and you know you're looking at him recently you're
looking at where we've seen him in form
the first three games of the postseason the last three games
still was bad in the first three but it's been getting worse
and worse and you know you have to
assume it's due to injury has not had a home run in a long long time
and has just been simply all
october really not where we need him to be three
for 20 with three singles seven strikeouts three
walks a 150 average of 411 ops
and i mean it don't really matter who it would be if it wasn't
Otani this player would have been out of the lineup ages ago
but right now you know it's kind
of tough to put this into perspective
and same goes for the hits game by game now the production
has just been absolutely you know abysmal on the entire team's aspect
but there's been one name
who's been capable of even trying to boost
that and in some lineups before very little of this
postseason and that's supposed to be the point we're gonna
be touching on him here in just one
second but you know moving him down does
not restore the production a healthy superstar
and the available hitters are different evaluations
and you know putting a slump in here or not and
you see this here in one of our comments Ohtani isn't
the only one that's in a slump everyone
expects him to hit a home run every time he gets up
and then again I think Ohtani expects to park
one every time he's at bat and when someone is in a slump
and other players need to step up I can
see the disappointment on Ohtani's face he does
not have to prove himself to anyone except himself
and I mean that's absolutely correct
because we know how hurt Ohtani is and he knows that he really
can't do anything, and he can only do so much
when trying to get other players to
step up, but when it comes to
replacement, it's Jose De Paula. It has
to be. He is the top of the list if it
comes to a DH candidate, if Ohtani
does sit for Game 3, and, you know, this
was reported both by Katie Wu and
Ken Rosenthal, basically confirming
at this point that this will be the case
if it does end up
being that Otani does sit for
a game, two games, multiple
games, depending on, you know, how
long this may be or whatever they choose
to do but Jose De Paula is your guy you know that's why
he's here there was a lot of ideas surrounding
would he actually make this roster and i think
there was and you know really at the end of the day zero doubt
because they knew that this was a
possibility surrounding Shohei Ohtani
and you know going to kind of look at De Paula as anybody as
anybody can you know fill into this roster with him
as your DH he's your guy you can play him in
the outfield but we saw
when they made these roster decisions going back to the NLDS as well
he was not going to play the field he
was your pinch hitter he was your DH he was whatever you
need him to be on the offensive side of things
and his name is really kind of now being called
to be that role that you know everybody knew he can
be but was uncertain whether he would actually
get the opportunity or not in the postseason
so you know looking at it all and looking how you
know these things play out baseball is a crazy game
and with Jose de Paula this could be his
kind of golden opportunity more
so than he already has with this team you see again from talking
baseball here de Paula works a walk with Mookie Betts
and now come up and the opportunities
that he's been in walking plate discipline
these opportunities will be able to generate runs
whether it's directly based from you de Paula gives
this team options to go out and get extra
assets go out and get extra runs go get insurance in any possible game
but also will help them get
the lead and you see the trade-off here fresh opportunity
but an inexperienced October hitter
and I think that what helps DePaul is he came up towards
the end of the season kind of was going in
and getting accustomed to this team at this point in the season
and I really do think if it comes
down to someone like Jose DePaul
who has no playoff experience the Dodgers team is the best
opportunity for someone like him to step up
in because of how they are able to really go ahead
and you know kind of build off of their momentum
their play all of that together so it's going to
be a big decision because obviously you know one
productive plate appearance does not settle the
choice it doesn't make it really any easier
but I think at the end of the day the fact that you're
looking at Ohtani as someone who at this point in the offseason
or the postseason excuse me
I'm considering it that you know he doesn't play another game
at this point right now there's been
nothing that shows me that he should there's
been nothing that makes it easy for me to kind of make
the decision of keeping him in the lineup
so at least right now I think that even though you're
looking at an incredible regular season player he's too hurt
to play anymore in the postseason so
folks give me your thoughts on this would you make
the call should Otani start game three
sit him and give DePaulo an opportunity or start him
and trust the upside let me know down below
that is all I have here in this video
if you did enjoy give it a like hit the sub button as well
because folks there's a lot to consider here coming up
in tomorrow's game and we're gonna
