DIY Home-made Smart Phone Stand
So I'm going to show you how to make this cute little stand that you can put your iPod or iPhone on when you want to film yourself making videos.
So what you're going to need is your iPod, obviously, and a piece of wire that's about 8 inches long.
This one is about 1.2 millimeters, so I would say 14-16 gauge wire.
This is aluminum. You can use copper. Nothing like too, too soft, so if you use copper, use something a little thicker.
But it has to be malleable a little bit, so nothing too, too stiff.
Your coating will be kind of hard to do.
And basically what you want to do is straighten it out, and then measure the length of your iPod, center the wire over that,
and then just do a couple of little bends, near the end, but not too close like that.
And then you want it to be about the width of the iPod, and so I think it's about 2.5 inches.
So then I'm going to get some round wire, and then just bend this down like that.
Alright, and then you want the other side to be the same, so sometimes I just measure the bottom like this.
Tight, tight, tight, and then what you're going to do is, where it meets the bottom,
you're actually going to go like this, and then you want to actually check the width of your iPhone.
So I'm just going to put it here.
And I suppose you could take the case off if you wanted to, but I'm just going to leave the case on.
So if we have that, I'll show you, right there, that's the width.
And then if the wire is soft enough, you just kind of bend it like that, so it makes a little fold around it.
Same on this side, just kind of bend it like that.
And you don't have to do any crazy finishing touches.
All I do is just, you know, add about a quarter of an inch, and just cut it.
So I'm going to cut the edge about a quarter of an inch.
Same on this side, cut it about a quarter of an inch, and then there you have your little iPod stand.
And so I'm just going to stick it in there, and we can set it up for filming.
