Happy tryout day.
Good luck.

Yay!
I think you're ready.
You want to practice with Jazz shoes, right?

All right, guys, happy Monday.
Happy tryout day for the girls.
Today's the big day.
So it's gonna be a little bit busy.
Like we said, Halle comes home, has like five minutes.
She doesn't usually change before she goes
because she's just like dropping her school stuff,
grabbing some food.
So we'll have to check in with her when she gets home
and see what outfit she wore and things.
Libby will get home and have to rush off real quick,
but we'll check in with her.
And then Stella has a whole hour until dance.
So excited for them.
I mean, it's not that big of a deal.
Like I'm sure they'll make their same teams.
I'm not really expecting anything different,
but there is those three different tiers
that they're doing this year.
Don't really know a lot about it and how it's gonna work.
Some people have said that only the top levels
are going to be on the collective team.
So I'm just like, girls, just act like it's like
a special class and do your best and have fun.
So I'm gonna drop them off and then check in with them
when they get home.
All right, Halle's getting ready for school.
Guess what?
Have some good news.
Are you ready for it?
Are you?
It's good news.
Mr. Jake just called and you made the elite hip hop team
and he wants you and he's super excited.
He was giving me dates and stuff.
So do you want to do it?
Yeah.
Okay.
We'll have to figure it out.
He's going to email me all the dates,
but they said they're going to start practices in May
and June.
And then he told me some competitions.
I think the first one is July 19th.
Yeah.
So it's coming up.
So you'll have to talk to him more at hip hop,
but he called me this morning about auditions
and we want Halle to join our team.
So that's pretty cool.
Are you excited?
You're like so quiet.
Yep.
She's still tired.
Convention kicked her butt.
You ready for trials today?
Do you finalize what you're going to wear?
Red polka dot.
Anyone here, Halle, comment below if you can hear her.
Dad's representing our new merch.
That's right.
This is one of our shirts that we made
with our new spring line.
Go check it out.
Got the logo.
Don't forget the logo.
Just told Halle the good news.
Oh yeah?
Yeah.
That's great news.
It's hard to tell if she's excited
because she's still waking up early in the morning.
Are you excited?
I just don't know what to expect.
We still got to find out more details.
Do you think you can do it with high school dance,
competition and this elite hip hop routine?
I'll have to look at the schedules.
Yeah.
Hopefully we can commit to all three.
That's a lot.
I thought we were supposed to dial it down.
I know.
That's why I'm like, keep that in mind
as you audition today and how many routines we accept.
It's a lot going on.
It sounds like a lot of opportunities with this hip hop.
I think the hip hop thing will be way cool
because it's just like a couple people from the studio
and kind of something you could just do for you.
And it would help you at high school
because they're known for like their hip hop, right?
If varsity's the goal.
So anyway, good luck.
Today, we'll barely see Halle when she gets home.
Are you going to get in your outfit so we can see it?
No.
Bummer.
So see her for five minutes when she gets home
and then off to class and tryouts.
The first school.
So tired from convention.
So are you going to be able to do all this?
I don't know.
I worry about you.
You got it?
All right.
See ya.
All right.
She's ready.
She just got home from school.
Rushing off to dance, right?
So you have some rehearsals and stuff.
Got you some fruit for some little snacks.
Did you get some?
No.
Hey, you got your outfit in there?
Going with the cheetah?
Yes.
Okay, getting some snacks.
Feeling ready, excited.
Can't wait to hear about it.
Halle's got her merch backpack.
We just launched these awesome backpacks.
They're really good quality.
She's been using it a ton for dance.
Been a good little dance bag at convention
and all the things.
She's got her outfit.
You got all your shoes, right?
Tennis shoes, because you're going to be doing hip hop,
ballet.
Okay, it all fits in there.
All right, her ride is here.
Good luck.
Try to take a picture of you and your sisters
because I won't see you in your outfit.
Hey, happy tryout day.
Libby's got to leave first in how many minutes?
Five minutes?
Yeah.
And Stella, you've got an hour to get ready,
do some homework.
You excited?
Yep.
What's in your hands?
Something.
What is it?
I lost my tooth.
What?
No way.
At school?
Yeah.
Oh my gosh.
I didn't get to see you pull it out.
Does it feel better?
I know it was hurting today.
How did you?
Oh, my teacher.
You told me.
No, you told me.
I didn't know you lost it.
That's crazy.
How'd you pull it out?
Were you eating lunch?
Yeah, it was like perfectly normal,
like other teeth,
and then I ate something hard at lunch
and then it got very wiggly.
And when I went to the side,
that thing came off and then this side wasn't,
so I just pulled it up and it came out.
Yeah, big day.
Tryouts and a loose tooth that you pulled.
Yeah, I'm so glad it's not in it
because it could fall out at the end.
Oh, okay, now it's done.
All right, did you have any homework?
Yep.
Okay, let's get going on that
and then we'll get ready for dance, okay?
Wait, I want to show you.
Where's the wax stick?
I need a...
Oh, wait, this is my tooth.
Ooh, that's a big tooth.
Okay, Tooth Fairy will be ready for you.

Okay, wash your hands and get going on homework.
We have some snacks here.
It looks like Ty and Halle grabbed a bunch

get some water, and you're ready to go.

Okay, you ready?
Yes.
Okay, Stella, you got some homework?
So we gotta get that going.
I can do my round off, I can't swing in jeans.
Oh, I bet you can.
I wanna see it in your cute outfit today, though.
Woo!
Let's see your aerial.
Okay, good luck, Libby.
Can't wait to hear all about it.
Do your best, have fun, you'll stuff, girl.
Okay?
Good luck.

Okay, see ya.
Dad's gonna take you, I'm gonna take Stella in an hour.
Woo!
Okay, have fun.
Okay, bye.
Bye.
All right, Stella, is it your turn to get ready?
Uh-huh.
Okay, is this the outfit or do we wanna look
and maybe do something bright and neon?
She was talking about maybe doing
something bright and neon, huh?
Because you could wear this tomorrow for tumbling.
What do you think?
No.
Should we just look?
What would be your second choice?
Yeah, that's a good one.
What about this one?
Mm-mm.
What color do you wanna wear?
I wanna wear that.
Anything in here you wanna wear?
Mm-mm.
None of those?
Mm-mm.
Okay.
Stella's wearing polka dots.
Yay!
Get ready and then we'll do your hair.
Hey, here's Stella in her tryout outfit.
Polka dots, cute hair, cute polka dots,
and a cute neato, huh?
It's not a neato.
Oh, what is it?
I don't know.
Okay.
It's called squishy.
You have hip-hop shoes you're gonna wear
just in case you do hip-hop?
You said hip-hop wasn't today.
But like, I don't know at tryouts
if they're gonna have you do hip-hop.
I would probably wear your hip-hop shoes
and then you can just put them on if you don't.
But I, can I just not wear my hip-hop shoes?
But what if they do hip-hop and then you can't do it?
Hey, Stella, what tricks do you got for tryouts?
A lot.
Okay, ready?
Go.
Woo-hoo!
Okay, let's see it.
Ooh, so close.
You got it.
Almost, gotta push.
Push hard.
There you go, good job.
Okay, you ready for tryouts?
Yeah, one more trick.
Oh, one more trick?
Okay.
It's a cartwheel step-down.
Okay.
Ooh, that's good.
Woo, good job.
I think you're ready.
Yeah.
You gonna practice any turns or leg holds?
Yeah, maybe get your half sole on.
Probably easier.
Hey, that was pretty good.
Probably easier with shoes.
Whoa, this is slippery.
I have a wet pad.
That was good, good job.
See, you can do that in your routine.
Sometimes you don't do it on stage.
How come?
I don't either.
You gotta work on that, sister.
I need a wet pad.
Get a wet pad.
What is that, just a wet paper towel?
Yeah.
That's a wet pad?
Yeah.
Just a wet paper towel.
To make my floor all dirty?
That's pretty good.
Now turn.
That was good, make sure you spot.
And hold your core.
That was better.
Keep your arms out in front of you.
Yep, and hold your core.
Do you know what that means?
Yeah, like.
Yep, and releve.
Yep, all the things.
That's a lot to think about, huh?
Ooh, that was so much better.
Good job.
Can I turn my left?
Sure, you try whatever you want.
That was good too.
You can do right and left?
Yeah.
All right.
Okay, last one.
Better.
Releve, arms, core.
Wait, let me try without this.
Control, use your core.
Better, but you'll want to practice with jazz shoes, right?
Good job.
Whoa, you gotta lift the back leg too.
Your front leg's up,
and you need to lift the back leg up too.
Yeah, that was good.
Good job.
Okay, you ready to take a little break?
Finish your homework, eat your snack,
then you'll be ready to go in 20 minutes, okay?
Okay, you excited?
No.
You're not excited?
No.
Why?
Because I wanna solo.
Well, then you gotta do really good.
Show me you're ready for a solo, okay?
Make sure you spot on those turns, sister.
Core and releve.
Good luck.
Have so much fun.
I'll see you later.
Thank you.
Bye.
There's Stella.
Me and Maddie were matching.
I saw that.
Her mom sent me a picture.
How was tryouts?
Good.
We waited 50 minutes because we thought we had rehearsal.
Uh-oh, but you didn't?
We didn't.
Well, good thing I was here early, huh?
Yeah.
I was gonna come in,
but they told all the parents to wait outside.
But what did you do at tryouts?
Tell me, or do you wanna tell me at home?
Me and Nyla were in like the littles.
Not like with Brielle and Maddie.
They were with the bigs.
So, why?
Why were you in?
I don't know.
Because you signed me up last,
and whoever gets signed last has to be with the littles.
That's not true.
Yeah.
I signed you up first thing this morning.
All right, pink drinks for everyone.
Happy tryout day.
Thanks.
All right, we're home.
Got everyone some pink drinks.
Do you wanna show me the routine that you learned?
So, it sounds like Stella was with the younger group.
I'm not really sure why,
but hopefully we'll get some answers and figure that out.
Millie's excited to see ya.
Five, six, seven, eight.
That's all.
Oh, okay.
How long did that take you to learn?
Like two minutes.
So, you got there at five,
and then did you start tryouts at 5.30?
Yeah, we started stretching.
Okay, and then you learned that routine,
and then what did you do?
We had to wait for 15 minutes.
What was everyone else doing?
Everybody was with the big kids doing the routine.
Yeah, we thought there was money.
Okay, well, they did say rehearsals would be going on
in classes after,
so I'm not really sure what happened there.
Maybe Hallie and Libby can shed a little light
when they get home
and figure out what happened today with Stella.
Yeah.
But they weren't watching me.
Yeah, I know,
but I just don't get why you wouldn't be trying out
with your team.
I told them that all my team was in there
except for me and Lila.
Hmm.
We're here.
How'd it go?
You got a swig?
No, it was cold and I didn't want to go.
Oh, I got you a Starbeez,
and Dad has dinner.
Pink drink for the win.
You tired?
Yes.
How'd it go?
Fine.
There's Libby.
Hi, Libby.
How was tryouts?
Good.
Good?
Are you tired?
It's okay to be tired.
You worked hard probably on dance.
Are you guys going to show me the routine you learned?
Yeah, me or I'll go first and then Hallie.
Isn't it the same routine?
Just do it together.
Okay.
Happy tryout day.
Thank you.
Yep.
Are you guys going to show me your routine?
You and Hallie do it together.
Yeah, just show me real quick.
Just once.
Stella, we've seen yours like 10 times.
We get it.
Yeah, I don't know either.
Just do it to any song or don't do a song.
Is that it?
Yeah.
That's it?
That's it.
It was so short.
Okay, are you going to do it?
No.
Yeah, that was super short.
Yeah, but it was easy though.
Easy but short.
Easy but short, huh?
Okay, any other updates on tryouts?
All right, discussing all the things about comp
and not comp, future comps and conventions, right?
Routines and what you learned
and maybe some team switch-ups.
We just never know.
So we're all good.
So we'll tune in tomorrow and see the results.
They said they're going to send them within 24 hours.
Any other comments you have, Libby?
Next year, I want to do a jazz routine,
like Ethan runway, and then maybe like a chandelier
next year and like a baby mask.
Yeah, no one knows what those are.
Chandelier.
Like the contemporary.
I want to do the looking glass,
chairs and angels, fault lines, hip hop line, and a song.
It's all going to be different, honey.
Okay, we'll see what the results are tomorrow.
I got to show you, dad made this yummy meal.
Everyone ate it.
Carne asada and fried rice.
Super yummy.
They're home from school.
What do you think?
Did you hear anything yet?
No.
I got the audition results.
Are you ready for them?
Are you ready?
Yes.
Audition results for your team.
Stella, you are back on your team.
Yeah!
Oh my gosh.
And you're still on the twos,
but you're an understudy for Hal.
Or sorry, you're on the ones,
but you're an understudy for Hallie's team.
Actually, actually, actually.
So that's cool.
Yay!
Something different.
So we got to rush off to dance right now.
They got like two seconds.
So that'll be fun.
I bet you guys are excited.
I danced up, not down.
That's true.
I love my team.
And your team's awesome.
So it's going to be a fun year.
Hey guys.
It is a couple days later.
We just finished Stella's baptism,
hence all the balloons and everything.
That was yesterday.
It's just been such a crazy week with tryouts.
We went right into Stella's baptism.
We had tons of company come, family, friends,
all the things.
I can't really remember what I picked up
the camera for or not.
So I'm just going to tell you
in case you were a little bit confused.
So Stella, when she came out of tryouts,
was a little bit disappointed
because there was a little bit of mix up.
She wasn't practicing and auditioning with her team
that she's been with all year.
And that's like what she loves
is all the friends on her team.
So she was confused about that.
Turns out everyone that wanted to try out
had an opportunity to be on the collective,
which is that higher tier convention team.
I didn't know that.
I didn't even think Libby was going to be eligible.
So on the audition form,
I just put the regular company for Stella,
like what we did last year.
So it turns out her total team put the collective.
So I just texted her teacher
and I just was like,
yeah, she wants to be with her team.
So whatever that means.
So we ended up doing collective for Stella.
She's good.
She made it.
As you saw, she was a little worried
she might be having to dance with the new team
and some younger people
that she just didn't really know as much.
She's just gotten really, really close
to all the girls on her team.
They're some of her close friends now
and she just loves being with them.
To be honest with Stella,
I can't tell if she's there more for the friends
or for the dancing.
So anyway, so Stella's good.
She's with their same team, made the collective.
Libby made her same team,
but she is an understudy for Hallie's team now.
So that was a fun little thing for her.
Not really sure what that means
or if it's even gonna mean anything
as we go throughout the season.
We'll just have to see.
But it does say on the audition results,
Libby is the understudy for Hallie's team.
And then Hallie was so exhausted when she got home.
I don't think I got any feedback from her.
She was just coming off of the weekend
of convention plus competition in the same weekend.
So she was getting up at like 5.30, 6 a.m.
dancing from like 7.15 until two
and then getting ready for her comp routines
and then having awards at like 9, 10 p.m.
So she was exhausted.
So she seemed a little low energy or bummed or anything.
That's why.
But Hallie's on her same team as well.
So she's super excited.
She has a lot of friends that are not doing it this year
and that moved to some different teams
or just not gonna compete.
So it's gonna be a little bit different,
but most of the people just stayed on her team.
So she's excited.
So now it's decision time.
Wrapping that all up for you guys.
Now we have to figure out kind of what we're gonna do,
how many maximum routines each girl's gonna do.
As you heard, we wanna cut back on dance.
It was just too intense of a year.
We didn't have a lot of balance with a lot of other things.
Hallie's going into high school.
I want her to have opportunities
to enjoy high school experience.
Livvy's going into middle school, same thing.
And I just wanna have more family time
and be able to have a little bit more balance
with like church and home time and friends
and all the things, not just all dance.
So we're gonna see how that goes.
We're actually gonna discuss it tonight
now that Stella's baptism is over and everything.
I mean, I think Livvy said three or four routines.
Hallie said five or six.
Stella said two.
They all wanna do a solo.
I'm fine with that, whatever they wanna do.
After looking into it a little bit more,
there are more conventions, more traveling.
Hallie made the elite hip hop team.
I got the schedule last night
and there's a ton of traveling
and competitions with that as well.
So I just don't know how she's gonna do
this elite hip hop team,
her competition team at her studio and JV
with a potential to possibly move up to varsity.
We are not planning on her moving up to varsity this year,
but the coach has said some very positive reinforcement
to Hallie and told her be ready if anyone has an injury
or if they are not quite getting the routine on time.
So Hallie wants to keep her options open.
She's again, super excited about JV.
Go check out that blog if you haven't.
It tells all the details.
She's just planning on JV.
We're not planning anything around a potential
of maybe varsity, but she's got so many different things
and not enough time.
So I think she's gonna have to make a decision
whether she wants to do the elite hip hop team,
JV or the dance comp team.
I don't think, I think she can do JV
in one of the other two.
So we're gonna discuss it tonight as a family.
Make sure we make some good choices for everyone.
Make sure everyone gets where they wanna be
with their goals and what they love.
And stay tuned guys,
cause we'll just take you along with us.
But entering into a new dance season,
we're wrapping up this one.
Nationals will be end of June.
So stay tuned for that.
New season starts in July
and we'll let you know what we decide
and where we go or where they go and what they decide.
It's really their decision.
We just are here to support them,
but also directing them in the best way,
knowing their needs and how much they've struggled
with different things throughout the year,
what's gonna be best for them.
So, but anyway, super excited for them,
excited for a new season of dance,
see different routines, how they grow
and how much more they're gonna learn
and just taking you guys along with us.
So thanks for watching.
Don't forget to subscribe, give this video a thumbs up
and we will see you guys next time.
