Caterpillar's Biggest Loader — The Machine That Feeds the Giants

It is the largest wheel loader Caterpillar has ever built for production use. Its bucket can hold enough material to fill a room. It loads ultra-class haul trucks faster than any smaller machine can manage. And it represents the top of a product line that Caterpillar has been developing, competing, and refining for half a century. The Cat 994K is not just a big loader. It is the statement of what the world's largest equipment manufacturer believes a wheel loader at the highest production scale should be. In this video, we go deep inside the 994K — the engineering decisions that shaped it, the mines it serves, and why being the largest Caterpillar loader is more complicated than it sounds.
