The big news to go over today is the Pittsburgh Steelers have just made multiple moves ahead of the big game tomorrow. They have not only made an unfortunate move surrounding Roman Wilson, they have made a new signing and some more moves beyond that ahead of an absolutely crucial game tomorrow. It's going to be very, very interesting. We're going to break all of it down. But before we get into it, a very quick reminder to hit that subscribe button. I want to start with the Roman Wilson move. So he has been placed on the IR. He suffered a finger injury against the Colts. He now must miss at least four games. With Pittman already on the injury reserve, also missing, I guess, three more, two more games now. They are going to be riding with DK Metcalf and Jeremy Bernard. So very unfortunate, right? We kind of saw it coming to a degree, but for him to have to miss another four games now, it is brutal. Just keep in mind, he missed last week as well. So that's a total of five. basically a third of his season now is gone and this is very unfortunate right because we look at kind of what he's done this year and he's slowly but surely I don't want to say breaking out but he was looking better and better right 188 yards where did I do a ton of other moves because he elevated some guys they made some signings but very very unfortunate unfortunate news here and of course we think back to the injury that was suffered by Michael Pittman back a while ago then Wilson injuring his finger and six days later of course he gets placed in the IR devastating stuff right especially given like i mentioned how much how many injuries this team has already suffered and you look at kind of why it matters even more beyond that you now have more responsibility for Jeremy Bernard which i think is good and i think that he's going to be able to take it and we'll see what he actually is right but you also have simple as this um you have less margin for mistakes right absolutely less room for error with a lot of these guys with the way the team is operating at this point but yeah comment down below what your thoughts are on that um it's going to be interesting but not only that we have a ton of other moves and i'll come back to him again in in a moment here and i'm going to dive into some comments from you guys about what you guys kind of think is needed out of this but i also want to dive into this now so they also signed Lou Nichols to the active roster so they've done this a lot um over the past few weeks he's continued to do it but he gets another shot here and he's kind of earned it right at the end of the day he's clearly practicing well he was signed from the practice squad now to the 53-man roster like i mentioned earlier he was elevated last week against the Indianapolis Colts and against the Bengals earlier in the year and against the Cleveland Browns the main thing with Lou Nichols is adding special team coverage and of course a running back right now Rico Dowdle is expected to play so this is a little bit less impactful than previous games where he wasn't expected to play right like where Rico Dowdle was out and that's where things got a little bit dicey but for now he's back he's feeling good and I'm excited to see kind of how he pairs with Mr. Rico Dowdle and Jalen Warren it's gonna be mainly added it's a special teams guy so be interesting to see But also, folks, you can trade on whether or not you think the Steelers are going to make the playoffs this year. So if you're interested in trying out Kalshi, make sure to use the link down below in the description and the pinned comment and use code DIGEST NFL to get $55 added to your account instantly when you trade your first $25 that is DIGEST NFL thank you once again to Kalshi for sponsoring this video and uh yeah so like technically at this point like i mentioned Daddle was questionable but it seems like he's gonna be a good he's gonna play right he was full participation both Thursday and Friday but it doesn't end at Lou Nichols guess what ladies and gentlemen we have even more moves here they elevated both Brandon Smith and Brandon Johnson so that is two wide receivers they've decided to elevate ahead of uh you know this week and another chance for Brandon Smith so he played against the Colts didn't make much of an impact previously worked with Rogers and the jets previously worked with mccarthy in dallas and blocking offers a way to contribute of course beyond catches for him so he's a good blocker but the reason they're giving him a chance and the funny thing is now we usually talk about these guys as you know not huge moves Brandon Smith is going to have to step up it's as simple as that right like there's no doubt about it you look at this updated depth chart for the wide receiving core and all that you're in shambles right now you have DK who was kind of dealing with an illness and you have Jeremy Bernard Brandon Johnson is now probably going to be your WR3 between him and Brandon Smith of course and all of a sudden now with all these injuries keep in mind Ben Stronach your other I guess kind of wide receiver down injury as well and not even to mention Pat Freiermuth is now questionable for tomorrow's game DK Metcalf was taken off the injury report but now Pat Freiermuth is put back on the injury or I guess put on the injury report for the first time this week so he who was one of their primary receivers uh last week against the Colts is also trending towards potentially being out but it is clear that uh that Rodgers trusts Smith so he says obviously I know B Smith from New York and I'm a big believer in him so this is big right the Brandon Smith move is probably the biggest move of them all with just the way that things are going at this point um you know pretty interesting and again big believer in him Aaron Rodgers I expect him to get actually some some touches here and a pretty big opportunity now Brandon Johnson was also elevated who has you know previous NFL experience Rodgers also praised their uh their relationship so between B Smith and B Johnson they have multiple opportunities here to have two of the Brandons kind of go at it in the wide receiving department so a lot a lot of moves continue to happen folks at the end of day here there's just it's a bit of chaos ahead of the game right um at the end of the day here both the guys you kind of tell from practice back i think it was Wednesday where Aaron Rodgers kind of praised them you had to have trust in your depth now uh the good news is and there's good news and bad news here let's start with the good news like i just mentioned DK Metcalf he was removed from the injury report so Metcalf is going to be good to go which is probably the biggest news of it all because if you were without him you would have had Jeremy Bernard as your WR1 and then i guess you know Brandon Smith or Brandon Johnson as your WR2 but again Pat Frymer the questionable with a calf injury and calf injuries are not something you want to mess around with Pat Frymer's had a very solid season thus far and especially since Mike McCarthy's entered the fray um he's looking pretty good at the end of the day here so i think that you know Pat Frymer i really hope he's available i'm hoping this is just a minor little thing because he's practiced all week but man it's gonna be uh it's gonna be interesting because folks you're without so many players You're now without Roman Wilson for a long period of time. This is kind of beyond just having guys step up. You need guys to literally be kind of the next, like you need them to really step up. Potentially even a lot of these guys are playing for their career, like Brandon Johnson, Brandon Smith. They're not going to get many opportunities elsewhere, but you have a chance now if you're one of those guys to be okay for the next four weeks, I have to work my tail off, work my ass off because guess what? Jeremy Bernard is your WR2, obviously. You have DK Metcalf, but there's an opportunity for all these WR3s. So, folks, it's going to be an absolute bloodbath here ahead of tomorrow's game. Now, also, of course, against the Bucs, Baker Mayfield is out. I'm going to have a full video on this. Obviously, you never want to see injuries for anybody, but there is good news on the Steelers' front. Them continuing to be without Baker Mayfield is a very good sign. He's obviously very good. The Bucs have had a very, very poor year thus far, and I think for this team now, with the return of Jamel Dean, who hasn't been talked about enough, with the return of Rico Dowdle, with Aaron Rodgers feeling ready to go, yes you're you're dealing with a ton of injuries but gotta take care of it
