BambinoBecky's chaotic first day working at Formula E London | Capital
Sep 25, 2026
I have somehow got a job at Formula E.
And I'm going to be getting stuck in.
I lost a nail.
And I mean really stuck in.
Why am I stuck?
So come along. How hard can it be?
I think I'm meeting Will Manning off of the radio.
There he is.
Hello. We've found each other.
Together again.
Do you like Formula E?
I do. I love it.
You love it?
Yeah, I've been here for a race before.
You don't seem, and don't be offended by this,
but you don't seem like the type of person who has a clue.
I am one of the drivers, mate.
Okay.
It's a big gap though, isn't it?
It's huge.
Okay.
But you know where you're going, don't you?
Do I? That's an exit.
Christ.
Oh God.
Do you have a ticket?
Look at that.
Got the ticket, baby.
Very important.
We got the ticket.
Here's the ticket.
Hang on, this looks interesting.
There's a lot going on over here.
We were looking for Formula E.
I think we've found...
We've either found them or they've found us.
Hello, everyone.
Hey, hello.
Welcome to Formula E.
Are you Miss E?
This is a lot.
He's frantically waving at you.
That's happening.
We're excited to show you around here today.
We've got a really exciting day planned for you.
Perfect.
I love exciting days.
Well, I've got your uniform with you.
Oh, really?
Because we're going to get you involved in everything today.
I'm going to get changed now.
I'm ready.
Hello.
The stock is a complete mess.
We've had a night with the hats.
I really need you to tidy them up for me, if possible.
Are the racers on?
Right, put them nicely.
Look at that, then.
Perfect.
And then the T-shirt's over here.
Oh, look at the state of it, David.
Stadium.
XL.
London XL.
Large.
Where's Will?
Do you know what I mean?
OK, right, come on.
So...
I think this is perfect.
If I can get you to just have a look at these hoodies as well.
Who's been in here?
Lovely.
Get that in there.
It's like Black Friday.
Don't want it today, I'm sweating.
He's having a lovely day and I'm just being roped into all this.
David, I've had enough.
I mean, am I done?
It looks so much better.
Thank you so much for your help.
You're welcome.
Thank you, lovely to meet you.
You're welcome back any time.
Hello, Will.
Hello.
What then?
What next?
So they want us to basically know everything there is to know.
So we're doing a garage tour.
Oh, yes.
I go to the garage all the time.
Hello, mate, I'm Will.
How's it going, Ben?
Lovely to meet you.
Hello, Becky, nice to meet you.
Ben, how are we?
Let's come through now and we can have a look inside the garage.
This is so weird.
I feel like I'm outside.
Do you know what I mean?
It's such a unique circuit.
Becky knows a lot about Formula E, doesn't she?
Yeah, yeah.
It looks wonderful.
It's a lot faster.
So, yeah, the acceleration's faster,
but the racing product's completely different, right?
Yeah, of course.
I knew that.
Yeah, yeah, sorry.
The cars have all the same aerodynamics, batteries and tyres.
Of course, they're all completely the same.
So there's no aerodynamic advantage.
It's all about the race strategy.
Do you find that a bit fairer?
100%.
So today, nine different drivers can win the race,
which is unheard of in motorsport.
I'm annoyed how you sound like a bit of a professional.
I'm all in.
The cogs are turning now.
Formula E is a game of energy saving, right?
The cars don't have enough energy to finish the race when they start.
So you can't just drive it flat out the whole time.
It's the regenerative braking, which comes into the race strategy,
that you have to really, really manage your position on the track.
Today, you picked a very good day to come to the race.
We hope you enjoy it.
Come on.
We will, we will.
And hope you learn something new about the Citroën team and Formula E.
I'm going to be testing you on all of this.
Oh, I know it all now.
Literally all of it.
He's testing your reaction.
Yeah.
So we're going to put you to the test right now.
OK, cool.
Yeah, fine.
You've got a T-shirt on, you should be amazing.
I'll give you a tip.
A tip, OK.
Get low.
You first.
No, no.
Ladies first, men just before.
OK.
What's going to happen?
Are they going to...
Oh!
You've got to have your hands up.
This is ridiculous.
Oh!
I pulled it out.
Oh!
I knew it was coming and I still missed it.
What is this?
What is this now?
The bar is low.
I think you did really well.
Start.
Oh!
That's it.
I'm getting cocky.
Oh!
I lost a nail.
Give me seven.
Yes!
Be ready for that one.
That's mad.
Thank you.
How have you done that?
I did lose a nail, though, so we might have to look for that.
There it is.
Nice to meet you.
I'm Becky.
Nice to meet you.
I'm Will.
It is mad to be in your world.
Becky's first time here.
She's trying to claim to be the professional.
Yes.
What would be the one big takeaway that people need to know about Formula E that maybe they
don't yet?
From a driver's perspective, trying to explain it, I think we have the best racing in the
world because we have a different type of racing energy management instead of tyre management
and fuel management.
The racing is so chaotic.
Every race there's always a different winner.
It's never boring.
There are other sports where it's predictable, predictable, predictable.
This is one of those ones where it's just not.
In general, what is very special about those cars is the acceleration.
We've got four-wheel drive.
It's like instant torque.
It's a lot of fun to drive.
I feel like I actually know what I'm talking about.
I'm in now, guys.
I'm in.
We're in.
We're part of the team.
You just need the outfits.
Talk to me, Will.
How do you find that?
That was mad.
That was so fun.
They were actual, like, professionals.
Go on.
Tell us what you've learned.
OK.
I like the way that there's a different winner each time.
You can't tell.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Good call.
You know what?
I know I'm taking the mic, but I'm annoyed how much you actually knew.
Come on.
That has irked me.
That has irked me, but well done.
We've had the garage tour.
We have.
We've had the driver chat.
We have.
You know it all anyway, but I now think we need to put it to the test.
I'm a fraud.
I know you're a fraud.
Because I'm terrified.
I know you're terrified, which is exactly why we're going to do a hot lap.
OK.
I don't want to go first.
What do you know that I don't?
Well, I'm going to make sure you come back alive, and then I'll go.
Right.
OK.
That's so considerate of you.
Yeah, of course.
I just want to make sure you're OK first.
OK.
Let's see how this goes.
Yeah.
It's got to wait to be called over, and then we're off.
It's like the dentist.
Yeah.
He's going to scream.
I know he is.
He's playing it cool.
Woo!
Jesus Christ!
Good Lord.
Oh, my word.
That acceleration is insane.
Oh, man.
That was incredible.
Oh, how did you get?
Come on, son.
It's OK.
Come on, Will.
Good luck.
It's good.
Good luck.
It's all right.
It's gone cold.
Oh, no.
Don't.
Bad.
That was a lot.
That acceleration, she's going to be in a real shock.
Ah!
Why am I stuck?
OK, I'm in.
Bruno, go easy on me, brother.
Yeah, come on now.
It's going to be OK.
Ah!
Take your time.
No!
I must have seen yesterday.
Yeah, I'm having the best time.
Thank you.
You're amazing, Alex.
Ah!
You can hear her.
Is that it?
Her hands are up to her head.
What the hell is wrong with you?
In the nicest way.
And?
Drive safe.
Bloody hell.
We crashed.
That was horrible.
First words.
What's wrong with him?
He's nuts.
He's mad mad.
It's the worst Uber driver I've ever had.
Oh, my God.
That was nuts.
When he first goes, how mad is that?
I screamed my head off.
Yeah.
Could you hear me properly?
I literally could.
Actually, I was genuinely screaming.
I cannot wait to see the footage of me just going, Bruno!
Woo!
Bruno, I was not expecting that.
That's what I did.
You're mental.
And he's going...
That was a lot.
It was a lot.
OK.
Oh, here she is.
Here she is.
Oh, it's Paige.
Paige, hello.
Hi, Beau.
We've had a day.
How has it been?
We've done good.
Yeah, and you've worked really hard.
We've lived a life.
We have to thank you for all your hard work.
Is she hired?
She's hired.
Oh, come on!
You deserve it.
We do handshake, don't we?
Yes.
Thank you so much.
It's been a pleasure.
It's been so great to have you here.
Aw.
Bye, Paige.
All the best.
Stay in touch.
Bye.
