Based on Ursula Wills-Jones’ short story The Wicker Husband, the film follows an ostracized fisherwoman who commissions a local basketmaker to weave her a perfect husband. But when her wicker husband proves more extraordinary than anyone expected, his arrival awakens desire, jealousy, and chaos across the village, threatening the social order that once kept her isolated.
