Hello! Welcome to Pregnancy and Postpartum TV Kids Ballet series. Today we are doing a Princess
Sparkle class. We're so happy that you're here to join us. I've got Vivian here helping me
and my name is Miss Jessica. This is one video in a series of ballet class videos that we do,
so if you like videos like these, subscribe and hit the notification bell. You can also grab our
We have a special box full of princess items that we're going to show you.
Vivian, do you want to grab the very first item? And it is a pony. Many of the princesses have
ponies, so we're going to start with a little bit of a warm-up with pony trots. All right,
let's come to the side of the room and with a pony trot, we're going to take one foot,
bring it up in front of us, and then we're going to trot across the room,
changing feet. Point, point, point, point, point. Beautiful pony trots. Let's go the other way.
Point, point, point, and one more time this way. Point, point, point. Looking beautiful. Last time.
Point, point. Wonderful. Let's find our spot on the floor again. Vivian, will you grab the next
item out of the princess box? The next item is ballet shoes. So we are going to get down on the
ground, pretend to put on our ballet shoes, which you may already have on, but if not, you can
pretend, and then we'll practice warming up our feet. So we're going to get down on the ground
like ballerinas. So let's take one foot behind, get down on our knee, put both knees together,
sit down on our heels, and then we swing our feet in front of us. And that is the secret way that
ballerinas get down on the ground. Sitting up nice and tall so that our back is straight and not
curving out. Sitting up tall and our hands rest out to the side. We don't have any weight on them,
but they're lightly touching the ground. Let's pretend to put on our ballet shoes. So let's
put our hands up, reach forward, putting on one foot, and we can pretend to tie our laces.
Beautiful. Reach up to the sky again. Lean forward, putting on our other ballet shoe
and tying our laces. Beautiful. Reach up and let's float our hands back down to the ground.
Now we're going to warm up our feet with flexing our feet and pointing. Flex, point. Beautiful.
Flex, point. Flex, point. Flex one more time. Now let's take our knees and from the tops of our
legs we're going to turn them out to make a pizza shape with our feet. Now let's point again. Flex,
point. Flex, point. Flex. Remembering to sit up nice and tall. One more time. Point. Flex.
Beautiful. Let's bring our toes back up to the ceiling and let's alternate this time. Point
and switch. Switch. Switch. This is hard work for our feet. Switch. Switch. You're doing great.
Good and let's shake it out. Wonderful. Are your feet feeling nice and warm, Vivian?
Good. Let's get back up to standing position. So we're going to tuck our feet underneath,
getting up on our knees again, coming up, placing your hands on your hips. Let's step up,
turning our leg out to a standing position and bringing our feet back to first position. So
look down at your feet and are your feet making the shape of a pizza? Beautiful.
We're going to practice the next pose but first we'll show you the next princess surprise toy.
What is the next toy, Vivian? Can you show everyone? It is a puppy. So many princesses
also have puppies. So we are going to practice our plie in first position and we're going to
have puppies jump through the diamond shape in our leg. Finding our pizza shaped first position,
we're going to bend our legs which will make a nice diamond shape here. Let's straighten our
legs again and knees pointing out to the side of the room. Bend. And so our puppy can jump
through our legs. Beautiful. Coming back up. Our back is nice and straight. Our head is reaching
up towards the ceiling. Plie. Straighten. Plie. Straighten. Beautiful. Again. Plie.
Straighten. One more time. Plie. Straighten. Wonderful. The next toy in our princess box
is a princess castle. So we are going to make the shape of a castle with our legs. So we're
in our first position. Let's tendu out to the side, keeping our knee pointed towards the side
of the room. And then we'll place it down. Now we are in second position with our feet and we're
going to plie in second position making the shape of a castle with our legs. We're going to transfer
our weight to this leg now. Point our other foot and tendu in. Beautiful. Let's try that on the
other side. Tendu. Plie. Second position. Tendu. Transferring our weight to the other side
and bringing it back into first position. Very beautiful. Let's do it again together.
Tendu to the side. Plie. Second position. Transfer weight. Point your foot on the other side
and bring it back into first position. Beautiful. Last time. Point. Making a castle shape with our
legs. Transferring our weight. Point. Tendu in. Wonderful. The next thing we're going to do with
our princess castle is castles often have a moat around it with water and there's a bridge that
they put down and so that people can get into the castle. So we are going to get down and we're
going to be the drawbridge. So let's get down in our special way again. Tucking our foot behind.
Let's get down on our knees. Sitting down on our heels but from here we're going to lay down on
our side. So let's put one arm up in the air and we're going to let ourselves lay on the ground.
We can help ourselves down with our top arm and lay on the ground here. Beautiful. So our knees
are bent. They're together and then we're going to make a clam shape here and we're going to practice
our leg mount for the drawbridge. From here you can bring your heel in. You can either grab your heel
or grab anywhere on your leg and then straighten your leg up for a leg mount. If you're holding
your leg anywhere that's absolutely fine. This is a very hard one and we have to work hard on it as
ballerinas. Beautiful. All right let's come all the way down. Let's close the bridge. Good and let's
bring it in again. Grabbing your heel or your leg pointing it up and the drawbridge comes all the way
down. Beautiful. Let's switch to the other side. You can either roll over. I'm going to come up like
this on my knees again switching to the other side so that you can see what I'm doing. I'm going to
put my hand in the air and then gracefully go down to the ground. Beautiful. Let's find our stretched
out position here. Then let's make a clam shell turning out our top knee to the ceiling. We can
grab our ankle, stretch our leg up grabbing our heel or you can grab your leg. Beautiful and then
let's let our leg float down to the ground again. Beautiful. Let's do that one more time. Bringing it
in, leg mount up just like the castle bridge going up and let's let the castle bridge go down
all the way down. Good. One more time. Knees pointed up towards the ceiling, grabbing your heel,
leg mount, bridge goes up and the drawbridge goes down. Beautiful. Let's come back up onto our knees
and we'll come up stepping out with a turned out leg, hands on your hips, standing up. Let's find
our first position again. Vivian, will you show everyone what is the next surprise item in the
princess box? It is nail polish. So we're going to pretend that we have just painted our toenails
and with wet paint on our nails we're going to draw a line with our foot as we practice our
tendus. So finding your first position, your pizza shaped position with your feet, standing nice and
tall, elbows out to the side making a nice triangle shape. Elbows are nice and forward.
We are going to point our foot forward drawing a straight line on the ground with our wet toenail
polish and then we're going to bring it back in. Remember to point your knees out to the side.
We'll point again. We don't have any weight. If we wanted to, we could lift up our toe.
We're not putting any weight forward into it. Bringing it back in, let's tendu again,
nice and light and a straight line out in front of you. Let's do that one more time on this side.
Beautiful. Let's practice on the other foot now. We're going to tendu front,
straight in front of you, knee pointed out to the side, bringing it back in again.
Tendu front, bring it in again. Again, drawing a straight line with your toe,
bringing it back in. Last time. Beautiful. Now let's practice our tendus out to second.
So this time with our wet toenail polish, we're going to draw a line straight out to the side
with our toe and then bring it back in. We want to pretend that our foot is sticky and so we're
peeling it off the ground and then point when it gets to the end and bringing it back in.
Tendu a la second, bringing it back in one more time. Tendu a la second, bringing it back in.
Let's practice on the other side now. Pointing out to the side, back to first position.
Out to the side, back to first position. Tendu a la second, first position. One last time,
bringing it back to first position. Beautiful. Vivian, do you want to show the next item in our
princess box? All right. The next item is high-heeled shoes. So we are going to pretend
that we're on high-heeled shoes. We're going to go up on our tippy toes. We're going to cross
our back foot behind and we're going to do tippy toe, tippy toe walks all the way to the side.
Beautiful. All right. Let's cross the other foot behind. Let's go up on our toes and tippy toe,
tippy toe walks all to the side. Beautiful. Let's try adding some arms in. We're going to add a
third position. So one arm is going to go into our first position. This arm is going to go out
to second, making third position. And we will go up on our toes and tippy toe, tippy toe,
tippy toe walks all the way to the side. Beautiful. Let's switch to the other side.
Bring the other arm in front and this one out. And we go plie up and tippy toe, tippy toe.
Beautiful walks. All right. Let's find our spot on the floor again. And the next item in the
princess box is a princess ball gown. Vivian, would you like to show the ball gown? So we're
going to pretend that we're wearing a beautiful ball gown, but we're also going to do our sautes
or our jumps in a puddle, but we don't want to get our ball gown wet. So we're going to have to land
very quietly without getting our ball gown wet. So we're going to plie. We're going to jump up,
point our toes and land as softly as we can to not make a splash. Are you ready? All right.
And plie, point, plie, straighten. Beautiful. Plie, pointing our toes as we jump, point,
land in plie, straighten. Good. Landing in a plie is going to help us not splash in that puddle.
Plie, point, jump, plie, straighten. Let's do that one more time. Jump. Beautiful.
Straighten. What wonderful jumps you did. The next item in our princess box is a princess tiara.
Vivian, do you want to show the tiara? So the tiara may have diamonds on it that create lots
of sparkle. So we are going to do our sparkle port de bras. So let's start again with our feet
in first position, knees pointed out, tummies pulled in, shoulders relaxed down our back.
We'll take our hands from our hips and take it down to bra bas. We'll tuck in our thumbs,
make sure our arms are long so we don't get any pointy elbows, and we'll take a little breath
with our arms, bring it up to first position. So here our fingertips are at our belly button level
and then let's spread some sparkles and open up to second position. Here, rounding out our arms,
we have a nice slope going down our arm. Beautiful. Thumbs are tucked in and let's
give a little breath, spreading some sparkles, come back to bra bas. Let's go all the way up
to fifth position. So we'll go through first position. Beautiful. And up to fifth position
and then as if a bubble pops, it's going to spread sparkles everywhere. Pop. And the sparkles fly.
When we're halfway down, let's flip our palms over and come back down to bra bas. Beautiful.
Let's do that one more time. First position. Lots of length in our arms. And all the way up,
you can peek under and watch the sparkles as the bubble pops, bringing your arms down,
flipping your palms down to the ground, back to bra bas. Beautiful. The next item,
which might be in a princess's purse, is a little handheld mirror. Vivian, do you want to show the
handheld mirror? So Vivian, you can actually use this mirror when we're doing it. We are going to
pretend to hold the mirror and do some turns. So let's put one hand on our hip and pretend to hold
our mirror out in front of us. So long arm and then we'll take one foot, place it behind us,
and we're going to go up on our toe and down and down, up and down. And let's add a turn to that.
Pretending we're looking in our mirror, we can gracefully tilt our head as we turn around. So
we're going to turn, turn, turn, turn, turn. Beautiful. Let's try that on the other side.
So we'll now bring our other hand on our hip. Our other foot can tuck behind and we'll look
gracefully to the other side. And let's practice going up and down first. Up on our back toe,
down, up, down, up, down. You got it. And now let's turn in a circle. Turn, turn, turn, turn,
turn. Beautiful turns. Our very last princess item is a broom. Just like Cinderella used,
we're going to do some dancing with the broom. So you can either pretend to hold a broom,
or if you have a broom in your house, you can also go get a broom. So we are going to pick up
our brooms. So let's just stand in first position. We'll hold our broom out in front of us. And then
the first move that we're going to do is we're going to step to the side and bring our broom
to one side. Beautiful. Let's point our foot out to the other side, step and bring our broom up to
the other side. So we're swaying back and forth and up, keeping our broom nice and straight up and
down. Next, we're going to bring our broom in as if we love our broom. You can even bring your
shoulders up a little bit. And we're going to do a turn on our toes and bring our broom with us
and come back down again. Beautiful. Let's do that turn on the other side,
bringing our broom in nice and close. And other side. Wonderful. Now we're going to pretend that
we're sweeping as we gallop. And so let's bring our broom out in a sweeping position. And we are
going to gallop and gallop and then bring our broom up to the side. Beautiful. Let's try that
on the other side. Let's take our foot out and gallop and gallop and gallop and broom up. Let's
do it again on this side. Gallop and gallop broom up. Again. Getting ready and gallop and gallop
broom up. Beautiful. Thank you so much for joining us for that Sparkle Princess Ballet class. We had
so much fun and I hope that you had fun as well. You are an absolutely stunning princess. If you
