Welcome to Pregnancy and Postpartum TV Kids Workout Series.
Today we're doing a princess ballet class.
I've got Vivian here helping me.
Are you excited, Vivian?
Yes!
We're going to do different moves, ballet moves, for each of the princesses.
This is one video in a series of videos that we do for kids with workouts and ballet.
If you like videos like these, please subscribe and hit the notification bell.
Make sure you watch until the very end because we have a princess joke for you.
The first princess is Moana.
Do you want to show Moana?
For Moana, she runs away on a sailboat.
So we're going to do a sailboat warm-up move and it's going to look like this.
We're going to bend our knees and put our hands up, pointing our fingers up at the ceiling.
And then we're going to bend and row to one side as if we're rowing our boat.
And hands up to the ceiling, rowing on the other side.
Beautiful.
Hands up, rowing.
We'll do two more.
Hands up, rowing on the other side.
Last one.
Very good.
And shake it out.
The next move we're going to do for Moana is we're going to do a passe,
but we're going to do it lying down so we look like a sailboat.
So Vivian, do you want to lie down on the ground on your side?
I'll show you.
You can lie down in front.
So we'll lie down and we'll stretch out our toes and our feet in opposite directions.
You can put your hand in front of you to balance.
And then we're going to do a passe.
So we're going to pick up our foot and make a sailboat pose with our knee, just like this.
And so this is practicing our turnout in ballet.
So if we were standing up, a passe would look like this.
Our knee is not pointing forward.
Our knee is pointing up.
Let's straighten our leg.
And passe.
Straighten your leg.
And passe sailboat pose.
Straighten your leg.
Passe sailboat pose.
Oh, I love how your toes are pointed.
Straighten your leg.
Passe sailboat.
Straighten your leg.
Passe sailboat.
Beautiful.
Let's roll over and do that on the other side.
We can lie this way.
Very good.
Stretching our toes and our finger in opposite directions.
Straightening our leg.
And passe.
Straightening our leg.
Passe sailboat pose.
Straightening our leg.
Passe.
One more time.
Straighten.
And passe.
Beautiful.
Let's come back up standing.
The next pose we're going to do is for Princess Anna.
Do you want to show Princess Anna, Vivian?
We're going to do our plies and releves with Princess Anna.
So we're going to turn our feet out so they're in the shape of a pizza.
We can place our hands on our hips.
And we're going to do a demi plie, which just means to bend.
We're going to bend.
Straighten.
Bend.
Straighten.
Beautiful.
Try not to bend forward and stick your bum up.
We want to imagine a string pulling our head to the top of the ceiling.
Bend.
Straighten.
Beautiful.
Bend.
Straighten.
What beautiful ballerinas you are.
One more time.
Bend.
Straighten.
Let's point our toe to the side and let's do a demi plie in second position.
This is second position feet.
Demi plie.
Straighten.
Demi plie.
Straighten.
Point your knees out to the side.
Demi plie.
Straighten.
Demi plie.
Straighten.
Beautiful.
Let's point our toe and come back to first position or our pizza position.
Do you want to practice a releve now, Vivian?
A releve is when we go up on our toes and then we come down again.
So we're going to stay in our pizza position and we're going to releve, lower down.
Releve, lower down.
Beautiful.
Releve, lower down.
Let's try releve in second position.
Point your foot.
Come to second position.
Releve, lower down.
We want to go up and down with control.
Releve, lower down.
Beautiful.
Point your foot.
Come back to first position or your pizza position.
Princess Ariel from The Little Mermaid is the next princess that we're going to do the
ballet pose for.
Vivian, do you want to show Ariel?
For this one, we're going to sit down on our bums so we can get down on our bums.
Let's put our legs out in front of us and we're going to make that V shape or like a
slice of pizza.
Let's place our hands on the ground and we're going to sit up as tall as we can and we're
going to practice our mermaid toes.
We're going to point, flex.
Point, flex.
Legs are straight.
Point, flex.
Making our V, our mermaid tail.
Point, flex.
Beautiful.
Pointing.
Point, flex.
One more time.
Point, flex.
Next, we're going to do our mermaid tail lifts.
We're going to put our mermaid tails on.
Don't worry if you don't have a tail.
You can just lift your legs together pretending that you have a mermaid tail.
We're going to make our feet in the shape of a V again and we're going to lie all the
way down.
Very good.
We're going to make sure we activate our core and then we're going to lift our mermaid
tails up.
This helps ballerinas be very strong and release down.
If that's too hard, you can always bend and lift and bend and put down or you can lift
it up with straight legs.
Are you ready, Vivian?
Let's lift and down.
Lift, down with control.
Lifting up with control.
Lowering down with control.
Very slowly.
Lifting up with control.
Beautiful.
Down with control.
One last time.
Lifting up.
Releasing down.
Wonderful.
Shake it out.
We can take our mermaid tails off now.
The next princess that we're going to do is Princess Elsa.
Do you want to show, Vivian?
So we're going to do tendus with Elsa.
We're going to pretend that we are standing on glass.
We can come to our first position, our V or our pizza slice.
Place our hands on our hips and we're going to pretend that we are cutting through the
ice with our toes.
We're going to tendu forward and come back.
Tendu forward, come back.
We're trying to lead with our heel.
Tendu forward, coming back.
One more time.
Tendu forward and in.
Let's do the other foot.
Tendu forward and in.
Tendu and in.
One last time.
Tendu and in.
Let's tendu out to the side.
Tendu to the side and in.
Tendu to the side.
Beautiful pointing and in.
Tendu to the side, in.
Tendu to the side and in.
Switching to the other leg.
Tendu, point and in.
Tendu, point, in.
Tendu, point and in.
Last one.
Point and in.
Now we're going to tendu to the back.
We're going to draw a line with our toe to the back and first position.
Tendu to the back, first position.
Out and in.
Switching to the other side.
Tendu back and first position.
Tendu back, first position.
Both legs are straight.
Tendu back, first position.
Last time.
Tendu back, first position.
Beautiful.
The next princess is Princess Peach from Mario Brothers.
Do you want to show Princess Peach?
Princess Peach is able to float.
So we're going to practice looking like we're floating like a ballerina.
So let's come to the side.
We're going to take third position with our feet.
So one foot is crossed over to the midpoint of the other foot, third position.
And then we're going to go up on our toes to give our floating effect.
We can bring our arms to third position.
One arm is in front, one arm is to the side.
And then we're going to take tiny little steps to give the impression of floating.
Beautiful.
Let's go on the other side.
So we'll switch to third position.
On the other side, bring our hands to third.
Relevé up.
And tiny steps to make it look like we're floating like Princess Peach.
Beautiful.
Let's try that one more time on each side.
Coming to third.
Hands in third.
Relevé.
And tiny step coming down.
Let's find a third position on the other side here, Vivian.
Let's switch spots and I'll go this way.
Let's do a demi plié.
Relevé.
Take your hands to third position and floating across like Princess Peach.
Beautiful.
Let's come back and we'll find our spots on the floor.
The next princess is Cinderella.
Do you want to show Cinderella?
We're going to practice our arm positions with Cinderella.
Just like she is practicing getting ready for the ball.
So we're going to keep our feet in first position in our pizza slice position.
And let's bring our hands first to bra bas.
So we're just resting here in bra bas.
Beautiful bra bas.
And let's bring our hands up to first position.
Nice soft elbows here.
First position.
Then we can bring our hands out to second position.
We want a nice slope coming down as if there was a little skier.
They could ski all the way down your arm.
Nice soft elbow and soft fingers.
Perfect, Vivian.
Beautiful second position.
For third position, we're going to take one arm back to first.
This is third position.
Let's switch sides and do third position on the other side.
Beautiful.
For fourth position, we can take one arm out to the side and one arm up to fourth position.
Beautiful.
Let's switch fourth position on the other side.
Perfect.
And now we're going to do fifth position.
Both arms up.
Beautiful.
And if you want a printable so that you can practice and remember those poses,
I'm going to put it in the description box below.
Now let's give a little pop and let's come all the way down.
In second position, let's flip our palms and float all the way down.
Beautiful.
We'll do a little port de bras.
Let's float our arms up to first position and then opening up to second position.
Let's come up to fifth.
We can look up and then pop our bubble.
We float down.
In second position, we say goodbye second position and let our arms float down to bra ba.
Very beautiful.
Next, we're going to do princess Tiana and she has to kiss a frog.
So we're going to do some frog jumps.
Do you want to show princess Tiana?
All right.
We're going to do some changement, we're going to change feet.
So we're going to bring one foot into third position in front of the other again.
We're going to demi plie.
We're going to jump up and switch our foot so the other foot is in front in third position.
Are you ready?
Beautiful.
All right.
Let's go again.
Let's jump.
Let's do it again.
And again.
All right.
Are you ready to do it quickly?
Okay.
As quick as you can.
Beautiful.
This one's a hard one.
Rapunzel and her horse Maximus are excellent at galloping.
Vivian, would you like to show Rapunzel?
We're going to do some ballet gallops.
Let's come to the side here.
And a gallop is a chasse with a jump.
So we're going to go chasse, jump, galloping all the way across.
Beautiful.
Let's do the other side.
Gallop.
And back again.
Here, I'll go behind you.
Galloping to the other side.
Beautiful gallops.
Again this way.
One more time.
Beautiful.
Now we're going to practice our passe pose that we did on the ground.
And we're going to practice our very best princess pose.
We're going to take a passe, knees out to the side,
just like we practice on the ground doing our sailboat pose.
And then we're going to put our knee down behind us in a kneeling position.
Front leg is turned out, knees pointing to the side.
And then we're going to put our hands in a beautiful ballet position.
So beautiful.
Good.
Let's come back up and we'll do that on the other side.
Wonderful.
Let's passe on this side.
Place our knee on the ground behind us.
And then open up into our beautiful ballerina pose.
Beautiful.
I love it.
All right, let's come up.
And let's give ourselves a round of applause.
You did amazing.
You are such a beautiful ballerina.
