Hello, welcome back to Talkin' Giants, brought to you by SeatGeek.
Today is October 29, 2025, and I have a solo midweek episode for you.
Gonna try and do this a little bit different,
because I know I've done some solo stuff in the past,
despite, I think, it being really damn good.
You know, I was even going back to, like, week three
and talking about how the Giants' first down defense
was actually somewhat decent.
The numbers were decent, but their second
and third down defense was awful.
I was talking about that stuff, even going back to September.
but I understand like when there's a solo up that's 50 minutes
and either I'm not bringing
on a beat reporter I'm not interviewing a player
or another Giants content creator just to have
someone just to you know toss you know toss some
you know toss some stuff off of I understand that
a solo pod could for 50 minutes can be a rough listen
so I'm going to try and make this shorter
number one and number two I'm going to try
and make it very topic based there's going to be four
topics today first topic that we're going to talk about
is I'm going to actually give like thoughts
on Brian Dable and Joe Shane
and what I want their futures to be
and kind of how I want them to be fired.
I've been avoiding that
since there's still a lot of football left to be played
and I don't want to have the same damn conversation
over and over again,
but I figured let's give updated thoughts
and how thoughts have basically changed
since January of 2025,
the last time that we all wanted them fired.
So we'll go really knee deep in that.
That'll take up most of the episode.
Topic number two,
the trade deadline is this Tuesday at 4 p.m.
or next week.
so what should the Giants do who will be available what's the wish list
and then even who should the
Giants themselves be possibly looking
to trade out themselves topic number three is going to be
Jackson Dart we'll give some updated numbers of him
on the season his third down numbers his first
half numbers how they're really good
and then even philosophically how the Giants versus the Eagles
I didn't necessarily like how they attack
the Eagles especially knowing what the new reality
is for the Giants offense I didn't really like how they attack them
and I think there needs to
be easier answers and put it uh for Jackson Dart
and then the topic uh the fourth topic is kind of
a new a new segment that i'm calling ---- hit ---- list
and hit list and we're going to talk
about two players one player that the fan base is not currently liking
and then one player that the
fan base currently does like
and we're going to watch their games in depth or we're just going to
have in-depth conversations on those players based
on storylines that are around them that week
---- list and hit list topic number four
but let's start off with number one and I may bash
my head against the wall if this is something
that we just have to talk about every week
because here we go because people are mad
and people are angry but let me start off with this
first speaking of people getting mad
and speaking of people being angry start off with this first
and this will be a a warm-up to Joe Shane
and Brian Daywell this really sucks what's going on
with the Giants right now. Obviously, no should Sherlock, right?
But this is not my first rodeo
when it comes to knowing
when people are going to start to tune out to the Giants, right?
Half of the reason why people were watching
the 2025 Giants is gone now. And if you really want
to extend it out to the last five weeks,
we have now lost two-thirds of the reasons why people were
watching the 2025 New York Giants.
And the challenge for Jackson Dart was already a difficult
one without Malik Nabors.
And now it gets even more difficult without Cam Scadaboo. I mean,
the offense, man, just felt easy with Jackson Dart.
And that's what we've been dying for,
like offense to just feel easy and not feel so difficult.
But we are trending in a direction
where offense, it seems like it may just get pretty difficult again.
And four years into this
Brian Dable and Joe Shane thing,
the Giants wind up losing Malik Neighbors, who was the
sixth overall pick, a high-end first-round draft pick
of last year's draft, and a fourth-round
rookie running back, and it feels like the sky is falling.
There should be an infrastructure.
There should be an infrastructure built through four years
of roster building that should
make us feel like the sky isn't falling.
and I think that just points to where
the roster has like what the roster is and I think that just
points to the roster that has been built here it sucks
that those players got hurt and we'll see
what everything looks like this Sunday
and then we'll see what everything looks like even beyond
then maybe it won't even be that bad
but I'm expecting to be bottom half and maybe even bottom
quarter in offense again that's kind
of just like what I'm expecting maybe bottom quarter is a
little too harsh. But as the Giants have
been an above average offense since Jackson Dart has taken
over, I'm expecting that to go kind of down to the bottom half again,
right? Let's talk about
Joe Shane and Brian D'Abel,
since I kind of ended that off with the infrastructure that's here.
If the season ends today, yes, 100%,
I would want Brian D'Abel and Joe Shane fired.
And the biggest reason why I think they remained here
in the first place,
The change that they sold us on was the change at quarterback.
That's why they were both retained.
But for me, my frustrations with them has never,
never, never been the quarterback position.
And I want to slam my fist on this wooden table over
and over and over again and restate that.
Because everybody talks about quarterback, quarterback, quarterback.
They didn't lose enough to get Drake May.
They didn't lose enough to get Jaden Daniels.
They didn't take McCarthy.
They didn't take Penix.
They didn't blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
They re-signed Daniel Jones for all that money.
I get the frustration.
But so much of why I wanted them gone had nothing
to do with the quarterback position.
It's been everything around the quarterback.
So yes, right now, Jackson Dart is playing well.
He's playing really well.
Yet we're eight weeks into the season, and it's over.
It's over.
You're two and six.
It's over again.
I don't care.
I don't care about promise.
I don't care how close they are to winning these games
because even with Jackson Dart playing well,
I have seen the same types of losses
that they've had over the last two years.
The same types of losses
where the defense allows a game-winning drive.
They cannot stop the run.
And since 2023, they have lost at least four games
over the last three years.
At least four games because they don't have a damn kicker,
just on the top of my head.
They can't get out of their own way.
So you could talk about promise.
You could talk about how Dart looks good.
That doesn't matter to me because this year,
this year in my brain, you can go back
and pull the damn receipts of this show.
I'm pretty proud of this, and sometimes I won't always encourage you
to go back and listen to my dumbass takes,
but so much of this year
was not just about Jackson Dart for me personally,
but it was also about can this roster prove
that they are in a better spot after four years
of Joe Schoen and Brian Dable are they in a better spot
but let's forget about Joe Schoen for one
second because I still think still think to this day
that Brian Dable has done a better job with
what he has been given than Joe Shane
which that may not be saying all that much however let's
start here Brian Dable fired Shane Bowen last year
I really don't think any of us would have sat there
and cried about it besides some beat reporters
that care about optics right would we as fans
kind of laugh at it uh yep would we
as fans think it's ironic that Dable the play caller for an
offense over the last two years just got rid
of another defensive coordinator yeah all of that
would have absolutely been true but the giants
and likely even Brian Dable chose to go into this
pivotal pivotal 2025 season with Shane Bowen
as their defensive coordinator despite an immense
amount and an immense amount of talent on that side of the ball
and us knowing in that knowing
we know that people in that building did
not believe in Shane Bowen they hated they wanted
Bowen gone we thought that after Mara spoke
on that field for that presser we all looked at each
other and we're like Shane Bowen's gonna get fired
and then he didn't people in the building hated
the job that he did. Carl Banks, who, you know,
we'll talk about what Carl Banks had to say about
Dex later in the show.
Carl Banks ripped Bowen to shreds every single week.
And typically those
are little signs. Those are little clues
on if you got people in the building that are ripping
people apart, it typically means it's coming for,
it's coming with the reason that the guy's going
to be gone. Schematically,
Shane Bowen didn't do anything that makes you go, wow. Oh, wow. He
really gives the Giants a major leg up.
That was true last year. And I think that's still true
this year and please please stop
with the oh nobody would want to come here nonsense stop
it's an NFL job on a big stage somebody even
if you don't get your first choice because certainly
Shane Bowen wasn't their first choice somebody would have taken it
and if you didn't believe
in the guy that you had in the building
then you should have fired him should have fired him and I
wholeheartedly believe I wholeheartedly believe
that this season is completely different completely
different even if the defense is average there
are still players on that front that I think are
playing out of their minds even the emergence
of Cordell Flott is is such a surprising it's it's
it's a surprising development
but this defense is nowhere near average it's horrible and I think a
lot of that has to do with Shane Bowen
but this is where we can now get to Joe Shane right we're
four years into this and this team has no depth no depth
and when you break down the quote-unquote
depth players that the Giants need most right now,
they're some of Joe Shane's, ironically
enough, some of his biggest moves as GM.
Paulson Adebo goes down, in goes Deontay Banks,
and he's unplayable to the point where you'd
rather see Art Green out there.
The Giants defense actually looked like a decent unit
when they fully benched Deontay
Banks against Philly.
They looked really good through the
first three quarters of the Denver game.
And whether it be causation or correlation,
Deontay Banks goes in that fourth quarter
and they allow over 30 ******* points
because of course.
So Paulson Adebo goes down
and a former first round pick
is a depth piece,
is a depth piece
and he's unplayable.
Malik Neighbors goes down
and one would hope that
a former third round pick
would help step in
and a guy that you traded up for
in the 2023 NFL draft
up until the third round.
And now the conversation has shifted
from can Jalen Hyatt do anything
to now we're talking about,
oh, when is Jalen Hyatt going to be cut
because he got to make room
for little Jordan Humphrey,
who's run out of practice squad elevations.
So that's where the conversation has shifted.
Traded up a lot.
They traded up for De'Ante Banks, one spot,
because Joe Shane had to have him.
Traded up to get Jalen Hyatt.
And two guys that go down for you,
you know, good job.
You draft them, Malik Nabers.
Good job.
He's a good player.
Paulson Adebo has been fine as a cornerback.
One, he gets flagged and maybe allows some catches,
but he's decent out there, right?
All right, so good job addressing that.
But the depth pieces that you have,
guys, you're going to get hurt every year.
the depth pieces that you have.
We're talking about two top 100 picks, a former first round
pick and a third round pick that are unplayable.
And one of them is about to get cut. At least he
should be cut. There's just no point of holding onto him.
Why are you holding onto him? Javon
Holland goes down and Tyler Nubin is just awful.
And it is shocking. It is shocking how awful and
unconfident he's playing.
From my guy Walt, WBJ84 on Twitter, I couldn't believe this stat. Tyler
Nubin is the only DB since 1999 to record zero interceptions
and two or fewer pass breakups
combined through his first 21 starts per stat head.
I'm going to read that again. Tyler Nubin
is the only defensive back since 1999 to record zero interceptions
and two or fewer pass breakups
combined through his first 21 starts.
This is a guy that had 12 interceptions, nine passes defended
through his last three years at Minnesota,
the guy that went to the same school as Antoine Winfield
and was drawing comparisons to him,
the guy that looked up to Antoine Winfield,
who was just a playmaker in the NFL,
and now he couldn't even buy a good play
even if he wanted to.
Forget the run defense.
Forget him being a little slower.
I understand that's a talking point this week
about how slow Tyler Nubin is,
but you want to know what we've learned
through covering the last couple draft cycles
that all safeties are basically slow.
All of them are slow.
And even the best ones that are taken in the NFL draft,
even if they're knocked for their speed,
like Xavier McKinney's not fast.
He's one of the league's best safeties.
So if they were fast, if they had the long speed,
they'd probably be corners.
That's my talking point in theory.
But what Tyler Nubin was, was, was instinctual.
he was you know he he played fast his brain processed fast
so then he that's how he was
able to play fast even if his long speed wasn't there
and we are like we're seeing a player that
has gotten worse from his rookie year somehow especially
as a run defender as a pass defender
I don't know like the dude never made a play
on the football to begin with so I'm not going to
sit here and break and tell you I can break down safety film
when the guy's not even involved when
he's not even on the screen
but as a run defender you know at least last year he was just confident
stepping up and making plays.
Like last week, our feet are in cement
and we're allowing Saquon Barkley just to run right by you.
And you're taking horrible angles.
He just didn't move.
I can't believe how unconfident he is.
When he came out of Minnesota, that's what he was.
This guy's confident.
This guy is going to prepare more than anybody else.
So you can point to injuries, bringing it back to Joe Shane,
you can point to injuries, bad luck, poor timing,
and talking about how the Giants, how close the Giants are.
but the roster still isn't good
and with that in mind uh i do want to talk about something i want
to talk to you about Shopify
because i'm going to talk about this run defense next and this run
defense that Joe Shane is Joe Shane is kind
of compromised this video is brought to you by

for any business roster, so make sure
that they're on yours today all right
so now let's talk about this run defense and again all within
talking about the roster that Joe Shane has built
the depth that it's built because guys are going
to get hurt guys are going to get injured
so who are you turning to right let's talk about this run
defense the Giants are last in the league in EPA
per rush allowed they allow 5.7 yards per carry
that's the worst in the league they have allowed
the third most rush yards and have the second
worst success rate against the run this year
the Giants run defense has been this bad for the last
three years. Last three years.
So what did Joe Shane really do to address this offseason? Roy
Robertson-Harris, Jeremiah Ledbetter, and Darius Alexander.
And in my opinion, Jeremiah Ledbetter
was the best run defender that they signed,
and he didn't even make the team. Because you want to
know what? He was awful during camp.
He was awful during camp. He was awful during the preseason.
He didn't deserve to make the team.
But you want to know what? Film-wise and metric-wise,
Jeremiah Ledbetter was the best run defender
that they brought in this offseason.
Micah McFadden and Darius Moiseau,
two day three picks at interior linebacker and then Bobby
Okereke is how you invested into the linebacker position.
And rolling with the same linebacker
crew as last year, despite having internal
questions about Bobby Okereke's overall play
and effort, is not good and sound decisions.
This is horrible. Self-scouting and self-evaluation
on what you need to get better at.
And while I don't think the interior defensive linemen
are an advantage right now when it comes to the run game.
I also don't think they're awful.
And I actually have numbers to back that up
when we get to our final segment.
Nacho and Roy Robertson-Harris,
I think they make a play from time to time.
I mean, even DJ Davidson looked decent
for what you're expecting DJ Davidson to do
against the Philadelphia Eagles.
But I do think these linebackers are awful.
I do think they're awful.
If they had some sort of fear with Bobby Okereke,
which I know they did, I know they did,
Go back to the Art Stapleton episode from OTAs, from the spring.
And he's talking about whether the concerns
that Art Stapleton brought up on that episode,
whether they went away during training camp, whether they subsided,
there was some kind of fear in that building.
I know this because he told us.
And Art Stapleton is not the type of guy
to go out of his way to critique.
He is, and I think he'll tell you this.
he is mostly an optimist
so when Art compared the Bobby Okereke situation to the Blake Martinez
situation during the spring i'm like what is festering here
and what are they thinking
what are they thinking in their heads about Bobby Okereke
and also why wasn't interior linebacker
addressed at all this offseason if you have
these internal concerns that interior linebacker isn't
that good save me save me and Ryan Dunleavy came on this show
and again these i'm not i'm not
criticizing the reporters. I'm criticizing
the things that they're hearing because I believe
them. Ryan Dunleavy came on this show in August and said,
the Giants really, they really like what
they got in Darius Moiseau. Give me a break.
Give me a break. They're bad. They're bad. And Mike,
they were bad with Micah McFadden too, by the way.
Oh, the Micah McFadden injury hurts. Yeah,
it hurts, but they were bad with him too.
They were a bottom three run defense with them too.
Instead, instead,
the Giants chose to go all in on the safety position, both financially
and with draft capital and those safeties haven't provided
an advantage at all so i bring up the
safeties when talking about the run defense
because the self-evaluation and the self-scouting
of what we need to get better is awful
is awful they chose to invest in safeties if you're going
to invest in somewhere they chose to invest in bringing in safeties
and those safeties don't
provide an advantage at all whether that's
because the players aren't good or Shane Bowen's not
putting them in a spot to be successful.
And I honestly think it's both. I honestly think it's
both. And they have chose Roy Robertson-Harris and Darius Alexander,
who interior defensive linemen
take time to develop and grow anyway.
Those were the two major investments, put major in quotes,
of trying to improve the run defense. That's it.
So I just went on for how long? 20 minutes in,
and I said this was going to be short. I lied.
I just went on for how long? Talking about the
big picture mistakes the head coach and GM have made.
And I'm sorry, Jackson Dart performing well right now
is not enough for me to ignore years of awful decisions
and ignorance that still continue to haunt us right now.
So there's that.
All right, let's move on to topic number two.
The trade deadline is next Tuesday at 4 p.m.
They just announced, Saints did today on Tuesday,
that Tyler Shuck is starting for them.
So I'm not sure the Saints are going to trade Chris Olave.
I even would like Rashid Shahid.
uh i would like Rashid Shaheed dude he's a he
is a big play guy like that would change dramatically my
overall perception of like do i want
the giants air yards to still be up which right now like
spoiler alert when we get to the third topic
and we talk about Jackson Dart like he's his air
yards like he's he's airing it out um and i kind
of don't want them to do that right now i kind of
want them to cut down on that but if they get
a guy like Rashid Shaheed in the building i would really
change it. No, keep throwing it down the field
because the guy's fast and he'll go and get it.
But I don't think Olave is going to happen.
And even Mickey Loomis doesn't typically trade anyway.
He likes to trade up in the draft.
He doesn't do trade deadline trades, even though they should
trade Brandon Cooks so he becomes the most traded player
in NFL history. Brandon Cooks has been
traded four times in his NFL career,
and he's never been traded at the trade deadline. Everything's
been in the offseason. Jalen Waddle would be sick.
That would totally change the ceiling and
the floor of the offense both in the present
and especially in the future but uh if the Dolphins
would take a third round pick
and then a day three pick I would do it like hell yeah Jalen Waddle's
awesome but they probably won't accept that trade
and the Giants already do not have a third next
year since uh that was part of the Jackson Dart trade
so uh Jalen Waddle probably not even being
dealt uh Jacoby Myers from the Raiders I still think would
be would be in play he's a bigger
physical presence that I think especially is going
to help in the intermediate part of the field that
as somebody that I think I would do.
I'm not giving up a third for Jacoby Myers.
I mean, again, I think you can get trades for guys
with a fifth, with a sixth.
Giants have three six-round picks in this year's draft,
like wide receiver trades.
I think even trades in general at the NFL,
it's not like other sports.
It's not just a plug-and-play sport.
So now you're talking about like Calvin Ridley from the Titans,
Christian Kirk, Braxton Berrios, Xavier Hutchinson,
all three from the Texans.
I would probably lean a little bit more to Christian Kirk.
I mean, Braxton Berrios doesn't really do anything for me.
I just put him because he's a name.
Rashod Bateman or Devontae Walker from the Ravens.
Would the Ravens want to deal any of them?
Devontae Walker does give me Jalen Hyatt vibes, though.
And that's even just going off of a pre-draft evaluation standpoint.
And he honestly hasn't even done
that much as a NFL player to begin with.
I mean, we're talking day three picks here.
I think the Giants should look to get to...
If I'm the Giants, I would want them
to get something done for somebody that could help
them at wide receiver.
Maybe even, like I said, a pick swap.
They have three six-round picks.
We'll see.
If anything happens wide receiver-wise,
I'm thinking one of these names, the type of names
If it isn't Jacoby Myers, it's the Calvin Ridley,
Christian Kirk, Rashad Bateman type
of players.
so now in terms of the Giants that I think could
be traded at the deadline I am all for
Chauncey Golston dude that's such a shame
that you know I thought that you know Golston was
going to come in here and even if he wasn't going to play a lot
and I know he's hurt right now even
if he wasn't going to play a lot thought that he
was going to have an impact and you know I think
he's made a couple plays against the run here
and there this year but it just hasn't hasn't
provided the stability that I thought that that I thought that he would
so it's a shame I mean you
also need to put like Kayvon Thibodeau,
Brian Burns, and Abdul Carter all playing really
well, and the Giants have actually done
a good job of having all three on the field
at one time, where all three of those guys
are like top 15 in total pass rush snaps in
the NFL, it also is a problem that the Giants
are on the field a ---- ton, so that's why
it's like you look at the most pass rush snaps in the NFL,
Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, and
Kayvon Thibodeau, they're all up there,
well it's also because the Giants defense never
comes off the field, so I don't know,
Chauncey Golson has been kind of disappointing, been
very disappointing. So if an NFL team is going to call
and they want to give a sixth or a seventh
round pick for him, I would say just do it.
You have three edge rushers here. Just do it. They're
all going to be on the field. I'm okay with that.
Evan Neal, Deontay Banks, Jalen Hyatt. If anybody
wants anything for them, give it to them.
That's that. I'm going up and down. If anybody would
want anything for Bobby Okereke, I think I would do it too.
I am not viewing Bobby Okereke in the
same prism that he is the super ultra valuable player.
I'm not. I am not. If anybody wants
Bobby Okereke for a fifth, I would go and do it,
even though I don't think they would do that
because it would somehow get even worse without him.
So if Micah McFadden was healthy, I would
trade. I would 100% trade Bobby Okereke, but he's not.
Trying to think anybody else on the
top of my head. I don't think so.
You need everybody on offense. You're not dealing any
offensive lineman outside of Evan Neal if somebody wants
to take a flyer on a former first-round pick
same thing with Deontay Banks nobody else really has value
um or you know some of the some of the
guys you would even want to keep too
so and no to Kayvon Thibodeau no no to Kayvon Thibodeau
no to Kayvon Thibodeau if I had
to guess what happened like Jordan Schultz comes out with that
report about like uh you know we'll see
is Kayvon Thibodeau going to be traded I think that was
maybe even an agent thing or even like other teams
telling Jordan Schultz, hey, put this report out
that Kayvon Thibodeau is a name to watch for the trade deadline.
I do not think that came from the
Giants because I think the Giants value Kayvon Thibodeau
because when you, especially that 2022
draft class where you had two first round picks
and that's the one guy that was really successful
for you and is like really good.
2022 first round pick, Evan Neal bust, Kayvon Thibodeau good.
2023 first round pick, Deontay Banks, bust.
So I mean, if I'm Joe Shane,
I'm not keeping the only first round pick that I had that
was pretty successful through my first two years here.
So team control too.
I think the team control thing is very valuable,
where even if we get to next year and Kayvon
Thibodeau should be traded,
I think even him playing on that fifth year option for
half a season would be valuable to another team.
I think he's too valuable right now.
He's playing too much and he's playing well.
So no to Kayvon Thibodeau, 100%.
i think that was other team driven externally driven by Jordan Schultz
and then i think
Garofolo and Ian Rappaport
who i you know we've seen i think are pretty pretty friendly with
Joe Shane they put out the clarifying report
of uh the giants don't want to move on
from Kayvon Thibodeau he's probably not going anywhere
so yeah no to Kayvon Thibodeau all right
topic number three i gotta take a drink
of water all right before we get back to the show i gotta
talk to you about tushy because you have to ask me a question
and this is a shame that you can't
see this shirt if you're on the podcast app uh
but if you're on the youtube crowd you can see it

Back to the show.
All right, we're moving on to topic number three,
and that topic is going to be Jackson Dart.
Honestly,
not like a ton of new updates from this game.
My thoughts that I kind of had on him on the post-game show
about his game versus the Eagles, it's kind of the same.
you cannot hold onto the ball for 3.68 seconds.
It's not, it's not a recipe for success. Even if
nothing is available and nothing is open down the field,
which I think that is going to continue
Jackson Dart, holding onto the ball
and looking down the field and finding, Oh ----, nobody's
open. I think that's going to continue. That was a burp.
That was gross. It was gross. Hopefully
you didn't hear that. Um, I hope it's going to continue.
So what Jackson Dart needs to do is he
needs to learn to live another down throw
the ball away throw the ball away i am so i like the cherry
on top of this year would be Jackson Dart getting hurt like i would
be i would be lying to you if
that hasn't crept into my mind and if that isn't a fear
and that's not even the what are you doing
you're gonna jinx it or whatever i i don't i don't give
a damn what you think about me saying it but
it is a fear of mine.
So philosophically,
he had an average depth of target
that was over 10 yards.
That's in the 85th percentile
against the Eagles.
While holding onto the ball
for almost four seconds time to throw,
that is not a recipe for success.
That is not.
There needs to be quick and easy answers
for Jackson Dart.
And that is unfortunately
where I feel the offense
needs to kind of trend.
And that's the direction
I feel like it kind of needs to go to.
Quick and easy answers.
I still think,
targeting the tight ends down the field
that's kind of a you're going to catch the defense
sleeping type of play with Daniel Bellinger you're
not expecting Daniel Bellinger to catch
the ball deep down the field i still think
that should be in there because honestly that's been
the the biggest source of explosive plays for us
is honestly it's been more the tight ends it's not
even the receivers anymore
but you just can't you just can't expect these receivers just to get
separation and these deep concepts that take time
to develop i think the offensive line will give
you time, but there needs to be quick
and easy answers for Jackson Dart, or else you will see
him taking more sacks. He took his first really bad sack.
There was an eight-yard loss that he
took to start the second half against the Eagles.
There's 1454 in the third quarter, I think the
exact timestamp is. And they're basically running four wide,
but probably the two tight ends are
out there, but there's nobody in the backfield.
And he initially looks to his left. He initially
looks to his left like he's looking for Darius Slayton
who's running a go who doesn't separate
but then he comes back to his right side
and Wan'Dale's running a quick slant it's like a
three-step slant and then go and he's uncovered
but the progression clearly doesn't like he's not
his eyes aren't there so by the time that his eyes get back
to that part of the field the slot corner
and then also you know I think it was Reed Blankenship
who actually came from across as a
safety down to cover Wanda Robinson.
By the time that Dart was able to get his eyes back to the
middle of the field, WanDell was covered.
Like it had to be a ball where Dart released it right away.
So I don't know what the progressions were on that specific play.
And this is where he took an
eight yard sack. Like I think it was the worst sack
that he took in his career where he's holding
onto the ball, holding onto the ball,
doesn't get rid of it, doesn't throw the ball. And then he
takes an eight yard sack and that's a first and 10.
And that's basically a drive ender, right?
basically the drive is over so there needs to be quick
and easy answers for Dart so if anything I
would go back and I would revise that play
to start the second half revise and be like hey
if you have WanDell Robinson running that little slant
and nobody is covering him and cornerbacks
are giving cushion that should be your first read
because then that's an easy play on first down
that could give you you know six seven eight nine yards
when WanDell gets after the catch right so
His first look was Darius Slayton running a go ball on the sideline.
I don't know, man.
Darius Slayton running deep,
you would think that should be a thing that's working,
but it's not working.
It's not working.
The only route that's working for Darius Slayton so far this year,
especially with Jackson Dart,
even he was the cardio king with Russell Wilson.
So the only route that's working for Darius Slayton so far this year
is when he runs that little middle
of the field closer to the hashes button hook.
kind of runs a kind of he'll run to the hashes he'll turn around
and then Dart will hit him and
then it's a yak play that's it the only play
that's really worked for Darius Slayton this year
so and he should be a guy that should win
at all three parts of the field he kind of hasn't kind
of hasn't which is a shame uh
so that leads me to say there needs to be quick and easy answers
for Jackson Dart that kind of leads me to say
when looking at the wide receiver depth chart
Right now, it's Wan'Dale, Slayton, Lil Jordan Humphrey,
Bo Collins, Gunner, and Jalen Hyatt.
I think Ray-Ray McLeod should be activated off the practice squad.
Little Jordan Humphrey needs to be signed
to the active roster, number one.
So that would mean I think Jalen Hyatt needs
to be cut to make room for that.
And then Ray-Ray McCloud will have three elevations.
He will have multiple elevations from the practice squad.
And those are the six wide receivers I think you should roll with.
Wan'Dale, Slayton, Lil Jordan Humphrey,
Bo Collins, special teams guy,
half the team, half the special team snaps.
Gunnar Olszewski, return man, and Ray-Ray McCloud.
And Ray-Ray McCloud can be this mix
between slot and outside.
And I think when I say there needs to be
quick and easy answers for Jackson Dart,
that's where Ray-Ray McCloud comes in.
Yards after the catch, I mean,
I think you can even put him in the backfield.
He can kind of be like just a little bit
of a beefier Wan'Dale Robinson for you.
If anything, I think he may be a little bit better
after the catch than Wan'Dale
in terms of making people miss
because he's just a little bit bigger.
Not much bigger, I don't think.
So that's what I would do.
Jalen Hyatt needs to be cut.
Lil' Jordan Humphrey needs to be signed
to the active roster.
Ray-Ray McCloud needs to be active on game days
and he needs to be part of this plan
because what are you going to throw
a quick pass to Lil' Jordan Humphrey?
When they threw a screen to Theo Johnson
to start the Eagle game this past week,
it's like, what?
We can't be throwing screens to tight ends.
I don't know.
especially when you have receivers
that are fast like you're supposed to and that was a screen that
they threw out wide like I would rather have Theo Johnson
as a blocker than as a receiver on a
screen and Ray Ray can provide that I think just easy answers quick
and easy answers because you
cannot have Jackson holding onto the ball
and taking sacks but here are some updated stats on
Jackson Dart I think the sample size is now big enough
for Jackson Dart that he's played five
weeks that uh when I when I give
these numbers I'm talking about weeks one through eight and
quarterbacks one through eight,
weeks one through eight, excuse me. So on the season,
he's 12th in EPA per play. He's 14th in success rate.
And this is quarters one through four and
downs one through four. 12th in EPA per play, 14th in success rate.
Pretty good. Pretty decent.
Slightly above average. He's fourth in average air yards per attempt,
which is kind of a little
surprising because he hasn't really completed
a lot of those deep balls, right? So that's why
between not having the personnel
and not wanting Jackson Dart to hold onto the ball a ton,
I would try and maybe cut that down a little bit.
However, I still do want to keep
the deep tight end concepts that you have.
Throwing the ball to the tight ends down the field
or giving little Jordan Humphrey more
contested catch opportunities too.
Because I feel like that really hasn't happened since the Eagle game.
Third down.
This is where it gets exciting.
Third down among quarterbacks with a minimum of 40 third down plays.
Jackson Dart is second in EPA per play and third in success rate.
Freaking awesome.
In the first half, among QBs with the minimum
of 65 plays in the first half.
Jackson Dart, second in EPA per play and first in success rate.
Freaking awesome.
Getting off the fast starts and money on third down.
That's what Jackson Dart has been, and he is very, very exciting.
I'm excited about that.
I'm also scared for what is going to happen
this Sunday against Robert Sala, who's a very
good defense coordinator, who is going
to have answers for the giant shitty personnel.
But maybe Jackson Dart won't be shitty.

All right, so I'm calling this segment
the ---- list and the hit list.
So who is on everybody's ---- list as a fan base?
I would say the player that I chose for this week
is John Michael Schmitz.
Coming back from injury,
how did he play against Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis?
And I thought he played well.
I'm not going to go and say really well,
uh but i thought he played well uh
the biggest thing for JMS is man he is still
he's still reaching but he's moving well um he does
a good job of extending his extending his
arms and getting guys out in front of him having control
but he's still like he has his arms
extended but he's still reaching
in that effort where he will get beat laterally now this is also
jalen carter that was beating oh lights went off
this is also jalen carter that's beating john
Michael Schmitz laterally he really had one disaster play
that I think resulted in resulted
in like a negative result for for the Giants where
Jalen Carter worked across his face after the snap
and beats him with lateral movement
so I think I still think guys are going to do that he was
late on a couple stunts and twists
but nothing that like resulted in something catastrophic
um like I said I think he does a good job extending
and controlling just leans while doing
it thought he held up well solo
in the run game versus Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis uh
Doesn't get a ton of movement, like I would kind of want him to.
This is where Cam Scadaboo really helped
with yards after contact, right?
Where there would be some plays where John Michael Schmitz,
maybe not getting a lot of movement
in the run game when he's facing guys 1v1,
but you can have Cam Scadaboo going in there like a freight train,
and then you get three yards after contact,
and a two-yard gain becomes a five-yard gain
because you get three yards after contact, right?
I do not think Tyrone Tracy is going
to provide that same level of physicality
and boom right so you're gonna have to get guys off
the ball push them off the ball particularly
against Jordan Davis I thought he I thought he did
a solid job with Jordan Davis you know that's
that's his main forte of being a run defender
so uh John Michael Schmitz uh I'm not sitting here
saying like I'm just sold on this guy's the long-term center
but I haven't been displeased
with what I've seen this year
and especially against Philly certainly no disaster plays um
and he's done a good job trying
to keep Jackson Dart upright himself now Dexter Lawrence the hit
list a player that hey everybody likes right
but man did um did Carl Banks come out of left field
this week with uh with some words about him uh
quote Dexter Lawrence nobody respects you anymore
nobody your opponents do not respect you
and then he went on for you know however long that clip was
on on his show and Dexter Lawrence nobody respects
you anymore nobody you want to know why I know
that's not true and i'm gonna i'm gonna tell you why i know
that's not true for a fact 100
dexter lawrence has been double teamed
on a league high 61.2% of his past rushes this season
dexter lawrence is the most double teamed player
in the nfl how dexter lawrence is playing is one
conversation to be had and i think hey it's a it's
a it's a good conversation to have, Dexter Lawrence
is not playing at an elite level this year.
But out of all the things that are happening in this
organization right now, to go after Dexter Lawrence,
I think a leader of this team,
for somebody of Banks' standing,
to go after Dexter Lawrence out of everything that's going
on in this building, I think it's insulting.
If I'm Dexter Lawrence, I'm insulted by this.
I'm disgusted by this.
The dude has played hurt.
The dude is still probably playing hurt
I think, again, it's fair to say Dexter Lawrence
is not playing at an elite level,
and that is disappointing.
But to say nobody respects you to the most double-teamed man
in the National Football League,
the most double-teamed guy, I think it's just wrong.
I think it's just wrong.
Also, the Eagles had 33 rush attempts this past Sunday.
17 of them went outside the tackles.
By the way, 33 rush attempts, and I know this for a fact,
the Eagles had 30 rush attempts
go to running backs because three of them were by quarterbacks.
So what's quick?
Let's do 17 divided by 30.
17 divided by 30 is 56% of the Eagles' runs.
So 56% of the Eagles' runs went outside the tackles last week.
49% of all rush attempts the Giants have faced
so far this year have gone outside the tackles.
Half of their carries have gone outside the tackles.
You want to know the splits between the Giants inside the tackles,
rushing performance, and
yards per play versus outside the tackles?
The Giants are 16th in the league in yards per carry
when teams run to the inside, when
inside the tackles.
It's about four yards per carry.
So they're league average when teams run inside the tackles.
But when teams run outside the tackles,
they average 7.9 yards per carry.
that is a whole yard and a half more than
the second worst Chicago Bears, 7.9 yards per carry
when teams run outside the tackles against the Giants this year.
I'm sorry. Dexter Lawrence
ain't responsible when a play goes
in a completely different direction from him and half of the
Giants rushing attempts this year are going away from him.
I think that's an opponent respecting
you. I think an opponent,
every opponent double teaming you 61% of the time, every single team
double teaming you. I think that's an opponent respecting you.
So again, forget the fact that,
all right, yeah, Dexter Lawrence is not playing like
a defensive player of the year candidate
like he was last year. And I agree with that.
But to say nobody respects you, I think that is
an asinine thing to say.
An asinine thing to say to a guy that I think has played his ass off,
who has every right to be the type of guy
that says, get me out of here.
Get me off this team.
I don't want to be on this team.
Also has every right to be like,
I'm not paid enough.
Trade me.
Trade me to a better team that is competitive
and trade me to a team that's going to pay me more money.
Guys have done it before.
What's stopping him?
So nobody respects you anymore.
Your opponents do not respect you.
When teams are running,
or 50% of the Giants rush attempts,
that are going away from him
because the rest of Joe Schoen's roster is ----
because nobody knows how to defend the run
because you have linebackers
that can't flow sideline to sideline
and you have cornerbacks like Deontay Banks
who willingly choose
to not be a participant in the run game.
Dexter Lawrence is the last guy on this roster
that should be attacked.
Nobody respects you.
Now I'm ending this mad.
I'm ending this mad.
Like that really,
that really,
it made me mad and also made me sad.
Like, I don't want to say more.
All right, I will see you on Friday.
I said this was gonna be shorter
and I guess I lied
because I yap
and that's what I do
about this football team
and I hope you enjoyed it
let me know what you think
if I'm gonna do solo eps
in the middle of the week
let me know what you would want me to do
let me know what you thought of it
and I'll see you next week
for whatever we do
and also see you on Friday
for a game preview
with Sean Marash
let's go Giants
it starts today
it's time to die
