Tokyo Chippo
Hello Chippos! Aaron again for TokyoChippo.com
and today we're in Odaiba, one of the most futuristic places you can find in Tokyo.
It's a large man-made island, originally built to protect Japan's borders.
Specifically Commodore Perry and it's totally peaceful black ships. America!
However, during the 80s and 90s, urban development turned the island into a hotspot
with many businesses, hotels, and shopping malls springing up around the island
including some of the boldest building designs you can find in Tokyo.
The best way to reach Odaiba is the Yurikamome Line at Shimbashi Station.
The train line stretches over the entirety of Odaiba
offering eye-catching views of the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Waterfront.
You can also reach Tokyo Teleport in Odaiba on the Rinkai Line.
The Rinkai Line connects Osaki Station on the JR Yamanote with Shinkiba on the JR Keio Line
with direct connections between Shinjuku and Shibuya.
Now we're at Tokyo Seaside Park at Odaiba Kaihenkon Station.
While there is no swimming allowed here, you can still enjoy sandy beaches and beautiful scenery.
This is actually a pretty nice park. The views of the Rainbow Bridge can be spectacular,
especially at night. You can even do a bit of windsurfing here
with board rentals right on the pier. You can also catch a boat cruise here.
And it's worth mentioning that this is another way in and out of Odaiba.
Tickets will run you about 700 to 2,000 yen depending on your age and the style of boat you take.
Near Telkom Center is the Miraikan Science Museum.
And here's a cheapo tip, you can see ASIMO, the cutest future overlord ever for free.
Miraikan is a great opportunity for children and adults to learn the importance of science
and OH MY GOD CAN I FU-
Across from Tokyo Teleport in Pallet Town is Venus Fort.
It's an impressive mall made in the style of an 18th century renaissance town.
There are hundreds of shops and restaurants here, but I can't afford any of them, so let's move on.
Next door is Mega Web, a large Toyota showroom featuring the latest car models and technologies.
There are tons of interactive games and activities for children and adults.
And the best part is, it's all free, even admission.
If you're not into cars, also in Pallet Town is Leisure Land, a massive entertainment mall
that includes arcade games, bowling, batting cages, and much more.
Man, I've gotta start hitting the gym.
For even more entertainment options, check out Aqua City and Dex.
The Trick Art Museum is great for photo ops, and you can also find a wax museum
as well as a Lego Land Discovery Center.
Oh my god, it's Lady Gaga!
Oh, just kidding, it's wax.
My personal recommendation is Joypolis, an indoor theme park from Sega.
But only after 5pm. The night passes are cheaper, and there isn't really much to do after a couple of hours.
There's also a classic arcade right above Joypolis.
Yeah, I'm pretty bad at that. Let's try something else.
There are a lot of interesting places to eat in Odaiba.
But, as you can tell from my reaction, I was most excited to find the Taco Bell.
But don't expect American prices.
For your best cheapo option, you should try the food court in Diver City.
Everything in here is under 1,000 yen.
Or if you hate yourself, there's places for that too.

You know, we had a good run, and we're just two different people.
I'm sorry, but that's just how it has to be.
I met somebody else, and the biggest difference between you and them is
they're not a talking cat.
And also, you're British, and I can't handle that in my life.
The talking cat is more of a bigger deal than being British, but
it's whatever. I'm sorry, but that's just how it's going to be.
Oh, you always say that. Here we go.
Here we go.
