Hey everyone, it's Steve from Sneaker Tech Talk, back with another video today.
For today's video, I do want to talk about five reasons why you should cop the Nike Caitlyn
1.
Come release date on October 1st.
There's just some things that I do want to talk about this shoe that just make sense.
So without further ado, let's get into it.
Now the first reason why I think you guys should cop the Nike Caitlyn 1 is because this
is Caitlyn Clark's first signature shoe with Nike.
Now we do know throughout the years in college when she played for Iowa, she was a huge fan
of playing in Kobe's and she's had some crazy P.E. throughout the years.
And the fact that this is her first signature shoe that the brand has actually been working
on for two calendar years, I think that in itself is definitely a reason for you to go
out and grab her first signature shoe.
Obviously a lot of first signature shoes have been very popular.
In recent memory, the Adidas AE1s, the LeBron 1s, the Jordan 1s, you know, even the T-Max.
I remember when the T-Max 1s came out, that was such a popular shoe that was very polarizing
on the court back in the day.
And this is another shoe that I think is just going to pop off being her first signature
shoe.
It's been talked about a ton on the court, online, and I think that is a very good reason
to go out and support her if you enjoy her play style, if you like the Indiana Fever,
and in general, if you just want to cough her first signature shoe.
The second reason to go out and probably the first reason you'd want to go out and buy
this shoe is because of the performance.
Now I have played now about 15 to 16 hours in the Nike Kaitlyn 1 and I can tell you right
now after it's all said and done and this shoe is broken in, this is an absolutely elite
performing basketball shoe.
That three point kind of CC inspired herringbone traction pattern on the bottom is very elite
and yes, these collect a ton of dust, but it's very surprising to me that the dust does
not really affect the overall performance.
You might lose some of that squeak and a little bit of the tackiness, but this outsole bites
through dust and just grips the floor very nicely.
And that is what the brand was saying, is that they were trying to make a hoop shoe
with one of, if not the best traction patterns out.
And this shoe speaks volumes as far as the performance goes.
The cushioning is nice with the full length Cushlon 2ST.
It's very nice underfoot.
It starts off a little bit stiff, but once it's broken in, it's very plush.
And then in the forefoot, you have that full length kind of zoom turbo bank of the forefoot
of the shoe.
It's very responsive, very low to the floor, and it just performs nicely.
The materials are nice.
The support is there with the internal TPU heel counter at the back.
The top loaded shank plate, which offers great torsional rigidity and support.
So all things considered, the performance of this shoe is just another reason why you
should go out and snag the Nike Caitlin 1, because trust me, I played in this shoe a
ton and everything that I've thrown at it, it has been able to kind of take in stride
and just perform nicely underfoot.
So the performance is definitely another reason why you guys should grab these.
Why you guys should grab this shoe is because of the overall aesthetics of the shoe.
Now pitchers don't really do this shoe justice.
Yes, they look nice.
Yes, they look like they're kind of multi-dimensional with this upper, but once you get them in
hand and you feel this OptiCast upper in hand, which breaks in very quickly and it just looks
like and performs like the Nike Kobe 6, we'll get into that next, but the overall aesthetics
of the shoe, I am loving it.
It looks great and there's just so many colorways, especially with the kind of like gradient
effect that Nike has been doing on the upper of the shoe.
I think this shoe is going to be similar to the Nike Jaw 3s, where you're going to see
these everywhere on court, as far as basketball tournaments and games, even in the NBA.
I think a ton of people are going to be hooping in the Nike Kaitlin 1 and specifically because
of the aesthetics, they just look fantastic in hand and on foot.
Another reason why you should hoop in the Nike Kaitlin 1 is because they perform just
like Kobe's and I'm not just saying that to kind of clickbait you.
These perform more or less the exact same as the Kobe 5 Pro Tro and more specifically
as the Kobe 6 Pro Tro.
First of all, the traction is very elite, just like the 6.
If anything, it is a little more durable than the Nike Kobe 6 because I have thrown everything
at this outsole, including a ton of outdoor play today and there is really no wear and
tear on this outsole and it is rather thick as well, so that is very nice, but the cushioning
is built exactly the same, keeping kind of CC and 2-2 upper is really reminiscent of
the scale upper of the Nike Kobe 6.
So if you don't want to shell out all the money for the Kobe's but you want a shoe that
performs just like the Kobe's that's a little bit more fresh as far as a new design, look
no further than the Nike Kaitlin 1 because this shoe, in my opinion, performs just as
good as the Kobe 5 and 6 Pro Tro, if not better.
And the last reason you guys should grab these is because of the price point.
At $140 USD, $175 here in Canada, you are getting an absolute elite performance basketball
shoe.
Yes, there are a ton of Chinese brands that are around this price point that probably
perform more or less the same, maybe a little better, maybe a little worse in some categories,
but honestly this is Nike basketball's best basketball shoe on the market right now.
I think a ton of play styles can play in this shoe as well, whether you're a big or
a small or just a shooter, I think you're going to enjoy these and the price point has
a lot to do with that because $140, I think, is a very reasonable price point specifically
for getting that zoom turbo up front.
A lot of basketball shoes that feature that are a bit more on the more expensive end than
Nike Kaitlin 1 being $140 USD and eventually you're going to be able to catch these on
sale and I think that's a great thing because the price point isn't really going to break
the bank.
They're under $200 CAD and USD and I think this shoe hoop shoe is going to fly off shelves
in 2026 and well into 2027.
So the price point is the last reason why you guys should cop the Nike Kaitlin 1.
That's going to do it for today's five reasons why you guys should cop the Nike Kaitlin 1
on release date.
There's just so many great things to love about the shoe.
The cushioning, the traction, the support, the design, the materials, not to mention
the shoe isn't overly heavy, just over 14 ounces.
So all things considered, I do think this is Nike basketball's best shoe on the market
right now.
But that's going to do it for today's video on the Nike Kaitlin 1.
Sound off in the comments what colorway you guys are going after because I think a lot
of people are going to enjoy this shoe.
