Welcome back to my channel, the Crafty Quinn. Today I'm sharing five
everyday farmhouse Dollar Tree DIYs using items I already had in my stash.
So if you love budget-friendly, cozy farmhouse decor, you're going to get so
much inspiration from these ideas. Let's get started. So first I'm taking
this Dollar Tree wood piece. It kind of looks like a little birdhouse
with a star in the middle that I've seen pop up
in the crafter square section from time to time. I'm starting with this folk art
fire engine red and painting the inside to create that classic barn look.
Then I'm taking some white waverly chalk paint and I'm going to coat the roof.
Next I'm using more of that white chalk paint to cover the entire front and sides.
For the windmill I'm using this one from Hobby Lobby and I'm painting it with a
Martha Stewart metallic gray from Michaels. I'm using my silicone crafting
mat as a paint tray because it wipes right off and I have it linked in the
description of this video if you want to check it out for yourself.
Then I'm hot gluing some floral foam inside the bottom of this barn.
I found these super realistic wheat stems from Joann's Fabrics before they
closed and they're perfect for adding that farmhouse grain detail.
Since the foam was pretty tough to push into, I added hot glue into the gaps and
inserted the wheat that way and for the center I just poked some small holes and
used my hot glue and then just tried to place the wheat stems inside of those
holes using the hot glue to secure them down.
So I just repeated this process until this area of the barn was adequately
covered. I didn't really use a whole lot of wheat for the middle of this because
I figured you're not really looking down at this wheat from above.
And then I used some waverly antique wax to finish off the windmill and give it a
more rustic look. And then we're just going to hot glue it to the back of this
barn. I thought it looked very rustic.
To finish it off, I used antique wax to distress the entire piece with my chippie
brush, focusing on the roof and the edges that give it that aged farmhouse feel.
And I also have my chippie brushes linked in the description of this video.
And that's it! Such a simple DIY that comes together into a really cute farmhouse
piece. Moving on to DIY number two, I'm using another Dollar Tree Woodhouse piece
for my stash, but you could use any house-shaped wood sign that you find in
the crafter score section. I'm applying waverly antique wax to the natural wood
roof. Then I found these farm fresh words in my crafting stash and I decided to
paint them with some white waverly chalk paint. Once they're dry, I'm adding hot
glue to the thicker parts of the letters and attaching them to the sign, spacing
them out so the black background really makes them pop.
For the finishing touch, I added some greenery from another Dollar Tree sign that
I had saved, and I love using these for pieces like this. I added more to the
bottom just for extra security. And that's it! Super quick, simple, and very
farmhouse. Farmhouse chic, if you will. This is your mid-video reminder that if

really helps this video get seen and supports my channel so I can keep
creating more content for you. Moving on to DIY number three. I'm taking another
Dollar Tree house sign and applying a thin layer of matte Mod Podge across the
entire surface, just enough to coat it evenly. You're going to let that dry
completely for about 15 to 30 minutes until it's clear and no longer sticky, as
you can see. Then I'm using this farmhouse fabric for my stash. I placed
parchment paper over it, and I used my mini heat press to help iron over it and
remove any wrinkles. Once everything is smooth, I just press the fabric onto the
Mod Podge surface, and this was my first time trying this method, and it turned
out so good in my opinion, so I can't wait to show you guys the end result.
After that, I'm just going to carefully trim the fabric around the edges. Make
sure to try and cut this as close as you can to the house sign. For the roof, I'm
using some small popsicle sticks. I measured and I cut and then I sanded
them down. So I pretty much measured them just by laying them across the top, and
then I used my finger sander to help smooth out the edges, and I love this
thing. I have this linked in the description of this video as well, but
I'm just sanding this down to get rid of any splinters and so I don't hurt
myself. And then I'm just going to hot glue this to the top of our roof, and I
repeated this process for the other popsicle stick on the left-hand side. And
then for a finishing touch, again to give it that rustic look, I'm using some
Waverly Antique Wax with a makeup wipe to lightly stain the wood. I love this
because it helps evenly distribute the wax. And I just grabbed these makeup
wipes from Dollar Tree while I'm there in the store. Here's the end result, and
it's a super easy farmhouse sign. I love this fabric, and I'm just gonna hold on
to it for as long as I can. DIY number four, I'm using one of these Dollar Tree
jars for my stash. I grabbed a bunch when they were only 25 cents. They were over
near the register, so I highly recommend checking that area out if you see that
in your store. I'm just tracing the jar shape onto some Buffalo Check scrapbook
paper, and I found this at either Michael's or Hobby Lobby, I can't
remember, but then I cut it out and I attached it. So one other way that you
can cut this is by using your X-Acto knife, and instead of tracing it with the
pen, you can trace it with the X-Acto knife instead, because it does get inside
of those smaller edges towards the bottom of the sign pretty easily. I did
try that method, but I accidentally cut it too small and it didn't fit. But if
you are more professional with an X-Acto knife, then go for it.
So once I have my jar shape cut out, I'm just using an all-purpose craft glue
stick, and I'm using a lot of it. I'm using a pretty heavy amount of it. I just
want to make sure that the scrapbook paper is definitely going to adhere to
this metal sign. So I added it to the sign itself, and then I did add it to the
back of the scrapbook paper, and I figured the more I added that I could move it
around if I needed to, if it wasn't quite a good fit. So it actually was. For one of
the finishing touches, but not the finishing touch, I'm adding one of those
home stickers I found from Dollar Tree. Also had saved this from their farmhouse
sticker collection in my stash. Then I'm using some jute twine to add a rustic
detail across the top. I'm just gonna secure this to the back with some hot
glue so that nothing shows on the front. And then I wrapped it around the top,
well I guess bottom of the lid of the jar, about three times just to get the
spacing quite right. So once you have it how you like it, just add some hot glue
that'll hold it in place, and then just cut off the excess twine with your
scissors. So I like doing it this way because adding the twine first created a
barrier when I went in with my antique wax so that I wouldn't get any of the
wax on the paper. And just like that this DIY is done. Super simple and such a
cute farmhouse piece. Now for our fifth and final DIY, I found this farm life
sign in my stash and I just couldn't wait to use it for this video. And I
couldn't believe I even had this piece. So this is a Dollar Tree sign and I
think it might have been from 2023 and then I just never got around to using it.
So I started by applying Waverly antique wax to the edges of the frame to give it
a nice rustic look. Then I'm going to use Waverly ink chalk paint to fill in the
background and I'm using just a small brush so I could stay within the lines.
If you wanted to try a faster method, it might be faster but it might be a little
bit messy, you could tape off the frame and just spray paint over this entire
thing, but since I wanted multiple colors I figured that hand painting this would
work best. And this definitely took some time, well more than an hour for sure.
Then I used an even smaller brush to fill in the more detailed areas like the
leaves and the feet of the chicken and then inside each little letter. Next I
applied antique wax to the chicken middle of the sign just to give it a
warm brown tone and if any areas look too dark I wipe them back with a makeup
wipe to help even things out or I just went back and I grabbed more wax. Then
I'm using Waverly moss chalk paint for the leaves and then I decided to go back
in and do a second coat where needed on those leaves because the paint I was
using was pretty old and not mixed up very well and it definitely diluted the
color. For the final painted details I use Waverly plaster chalk paint for the
arrow and the farm life wording of the sign. To add another embellishment on
this at the top I made a small bow using some buffalo check ribbon from Dollar
Tree and we are just going to cut that off from our spool here and I did snip
it a little bit more I wanted to make sure it was perfectly even. Then we're
just gonna attach this to the top of the sign and I want to make sure that you
put it right in the very middle of those two holes at the top because that
is where the jute twine will go back but we are just using some hot glue to
make sure that this stays as a ribbon as a bow. And then I added a button in the
center for an extra rustic touch. And finally I lightly distressed the entire
piece with some antique wax but we are going to be focusing on the letter and
arrow for this part to give it that authentic farmhouse feel. I'm using my
chippy brush again here which is also linked in the description but to
get off the excess I just draw an X three times on a paper towel and then
that just gives you a light layer of this wax on your chippy brush. And that's
it for this DIY! Such a super simple craft. If you want to see more DIYs like
