We are back in Germany. If you thought our Berlin food tour was insane, Munich is about to blow your
mind. We've got 48 hours to hunt down the best German street food in the city. From the legendary
Bigtualienmarkt and the iconic Hof der Haus, to what might just be the absolute best port knuckle
of my life. So grab yourself a snack and get ready for the ultimate Bavarian food adventure.
First stop Gastate Grossmarkalle. Tucked by the wholesale market, this historic tavern has fed
workers for over 50 years. We are here for the city's best white sausages, which tradition says
you must eat before noon. So let's get in there before they run out. First location of the day,
this is super local, pure Munich experience. We came to a local neighborhood outside of the city
center of the old town to try the famous white sausage. White sausage, pretzel, beer. We break
the ice in the most authentic way. I'm super excited. The atmosphere is amazing. You got
waitresses dress up the traditional way I believe. Vibes is unmatched. You share the tables. This is
beautiful. Unlike anything I've seen in my travels really. I'm incredibly excited, hungry,
side is cold. So I really feel like a proper hearty meal. Thank you. Beautiful. Look at this.
These are the famous white sausages. In German it's called beige sausages. You'll find them all
over the city, all over Bavaria. Back here they take it very seriously. They make them in house.
They have their own butcher. They make them in pure 100% beef. I really love the way they serve them.
In a bowl with water in it. I'm not so sure. Now it comes with sweet mustard. Look at this.
And pretzel. And once again, top atmosphere. Mamma mia. Beautiful place. Now let's dig in.
Look at this. I can see herbs in it. About these sausages, what you need to know is that
you don't have to eat the case. Now a bit of sweet mustard.
Like this. We get rid of the case. Let's dip it in. Oh yes. Let's go for it. Buon appetito.
Very good. It's good. Oh my goodness. Incredibly aromatic. But this sweet mustard
is addictive. I want a kilo to bring home. Sweet but also citrusy. Let me get another piece.
Let's try with the pretzel. You know what? It's not overwhelming. Usually in Italy we have
a sweet breakfast. So starting with something like that and beer is unthinkable. But
might not be my last time having this. Attenzione. Attenzione. Amazing sausages. The pretzel is so
fresh. Crunchy on the outside. Got pieces of salt. Beautiful. Now let's try the beer as well.
Well I already tried it of course. Look. I think I can get used to this. Amazing hospitality so far.
Food is great. Local vibes. Oh surrounded by locals only. And the city. Oh it's unbelievable.
We will explore later together. But wow. This is a city already I can tell you I will come back to
100 percent. Ragazzi we smashed everything. Look at this top place. Really really a top place. Look
it's 11 a.m and it's mega packed. People even booked. It's insane. So if you come to this
because it's famous for breakfast. You better come at around 10 a.m. Even earlier. What's famous
obviously is the sausage. The white sausages. Delicious pretzel. And also what people come
here for. That's what I noticed. Is the soups. Pretty much every table order soups. So just
for your information. If you come here soups and white sausages are the go-to dishes. And now after
this we're going to the old town. To the market where they have some street food and snacks. And
let's see what we can find. Next up we are diving into the legendary Viktualienmarkt. Right in the
center of Munich this massive open-air market has been the city's ultimate food hub for over 200
years. From fresh giant pickles and local meats to fresh produce. It is an absolute street food
paradise. Let's see what we can find. First stop here at the market. We came to a butcher shop
as you can tell. But we're here for a sandwich. Now as you can see in front of me there are pork belly,
sausages, Leberkäs which is like a meatloaf and then meatball over there. That's exactly what I'm
going to get. And over here. So here is sweet mustard, mustard medium hot. Oh this is the one we had
before with the sausages and this. Okay bye. All right we got our table outside. Oh look
look how many people waiting. This place I think is popular. Now let's give it a try.
It's quite aromatic. Lots of herbs. That's a very unique meatball. Herbal citrus is somehow
lemony. Oh that's unique. Look absolutely packed with herbs. Maybe carrots as well. Nice yeah and
the addition of mustard just a little bit it's nice. And this is one of the many and I mean many
snacks that you can get here inside this market. Lots of shops sell pretty much the same stuff.
You got fruits and vegetables, cheese and all this sort of stuff. Then you got sit-down restaurants
and then you got places like this like butchers. Of course apart from selling meat they also make
sandwiches with as I said before pork belly, sausages, meatloaf and meatballs. You are in the
middle of the old town. You look around it's like an open-door museum. It's beautiful. This city is
absolutely fantastic and the food is great. Time for a quick pit stop. This stall is famous for
its massive barrel cured Bavarian pickles. Let's grab one and see what the hype is about. Oh this
is so cool. So they have lots of spreads, pickles, olives, you name it. Oh look at the pickles over there.
I'm going to get one.
Chili. One. That's it.
God that was insane. So many people just for this and let me tell you this. This place is
unbelievable. It's huge. They sell as I was saying before everything. Pickles and they have
cucumber, spicy, not spicy, sour with garlic, onions. What a cool concept. Snack on the go.
Look how huge. I've never seen it before. I ordered the spicy one because I know that Shirley loves it.
It's very cheap. 80 cents. Super cheap. Now look at the chili here amore. Let's give it a try.
I thought it wasn't going to be. Super juicy. Refreshing. Addictive. Fairly salivating.
It is spicy. I cannot feel my tongue anymore. What I love as well is that it's incredibly crunchy
and as soon as you bite into it, it completely explodes
with the juices. This is exactly what I needed and look how many people. Look how many people
just for this and it costs 80 cents. I've seen people ordering two, three, four. Crazy.
Nice nice snack. You simply cannot leave this market without trying the iconic bratwurst.
Let's see what they got. Okay next food. Here we have spicy bratwurst which is a pork sausage
with mustard and bread. As simple as it gets but this is just a classic. Let's give it a try.
The case is pretty thick. Look the spicy level is like one out of ten. The mustard is
mild. Definitely I can't taste that much. Good bread.
Not bad. It's a bit sour. Very unique. I like it. Look so many people. Over here we have a massive
beer garden. Completely packed. Jam packed. People having a beer. Having a meal. Sausages.
Pork knuckle. You name it. All the local classics. Bavarian classics. Wonderful atmosphere.
The weather. Well it's not the greatest but it's not raining yet so so good so far.
Gonna finish this and I think I feel like one more dish before we leave the market.
All right guys. So sausage was okay. It wasn't the greatest as well as the service. But I bet
it was because they were so busy. Lots of people. The beer garden was absolutely packed.
Now as I was saying we have one more dish to try around the market. So this is a traditional
cafe making authentic local doughnuts. Now let's see. It's not far from here.
Look how beautiful. Now we got blessed by the sun. How beautiful. Munich is absolutely beautiful.
We are stepping into an absolute Munich legend. Cafe Frischnut. This place has been frying up the
ultimate Bavarian street pastry for decades. The best part they make absolutely everything fresh
to order right in front of you. We are getting their iconic schmaltz noodle. Hot, golden and
straight out of the fryer. We got the goods but unfortunately we couldn't eat there. Actually
they were about to close in an hour. Now we are going to find an empty spot somewhere in the city
so that we can enjoy our goods. We found a spot, eat them. Here we are. We have the schmaltz noodle
and what I love about it is that they continuously keep on making them. So they're super fresh.
Let's go for it. This is exactly what I needed. Crunchy on the outside, pillowy on the inside.
Bit of sugar at the top. Sweet and savory. Light. Beautiful. It's absolutely not greasy at all.
Imagine having this dipping into the cappuccino. Absolutely love it. Now let's try the kraffen.
Warm jam. So good. Wow. The key is in the dough. Light dough, fresh, high quality oil because it's
absolutely not greasy at all. This is amazing. We had a couple of guys before us. They were telling
us that it wasn't their first time. This is a very well-known spot for this pastry. They were like
oh my god god knows how many. Wow. They were about to close in an hour. Thank god we were there.
So packed. Yeah this is a legendary spot. For the ultimate Munich feast we are eating a true
heavyweight. Axenbauer. You cannot walk past this historic spot without stopping to stare at the
giant pork knuckles roasting on open spits. Slow roasted fresh all day. Full of the bone meat.
Pure golden crackly skin. Listen to this crunch. Oh wow. Look at this. Oh please. Yes. This is amazing.
Which one amore according to you? This one. This one? All right. Oh how cool is that? Oh my god.
So basically what you do is you tell the waiter look I would like the entire crispy pork knuckle
and then brought it to you on the table. You already know the price because the price is per
100 grams. You see super mega crispy. They slow roast them. Oh it's going to be epic. Wow. And
then you choose the side dishes that you want. We went for cabbage salad of course and the potato
dumpling which is huge. So this is a his recommendation. I cannot wait. While we're
waiting for our crispy pork knuckle I got a beer. German beer. So good. Refreshing.
How many of this we gonna get? Thank you so much. Enjoy it. Thanks. Thank you.
Oh mamma mia. Look at this. It's huge. Somehow it looks bigger than I imagined. We got the gravy,
radish, we have the huge potato dumpling and cabbage salad. It's amazing huh? Look at how
they serve it as well. It's pretty cool. Okay it's time to dig in. This is a bomb. Look at the skin.
There is a reason why they call it crispy. Mamma mia. This place became an institution
for crispy pork knuckle. So I'm so curious to try. Okay. Beautiful. Beautiful. Oh my god the smell.
The smell of the skin. Of the crispy skin. Let's get half of the dumpling. Oh so thick.
Little of the salad. Cabbage salad. Classic here. Now I try it first without the gravy.
I just want to try the meat first. Buon appetito. Oh it's not so salty. Oh that's nice. A little bit
juicy. Not too dry. It's easy to get this dry. Now the skin. Oh look at the fat. Look at the fat here.
Unbelievable. Unbelievable. The cracker. The cracker. Beautiful. Beautiful. Another bite.
Actually I did not expect it to be this good. Let's try a piece of meat with the gravy.
Next level. Because the meat can be over time a little bit dry so they need juice. It's nice.
Somehow there is wine in it. Now meat, dumpling. Let's rehydrate everything. Oh yes. Beautiful.
The dumpling is insanely bouncy and thick. It's a bomb. I love the gravy here. A bit peppery.
There's for sure wine in it. I made my research you know and I found this place. They were saying
a lot of good things about this place. We came in and amazing vibes. Top service. And I can agree
the quality is high. The food is amazing. And we are in the heart of the old town of Munich.
And this is a top place. Oh alla salute. Cheers. This is meat paradise. And look 15 minutes later
we absolutely smashed it. And let me tell you something. This was the best pork knuckle we've
ever had. Just unbelievable. Nice side dishes. Also the gravy is an absolute game changer. You can also
have other traditional Bavarian main courses. Meat dishes. You can have their famous veal knuckle.
Also you can have half of the pork knuckle. But I think the best option is to have one. A couple
of side dishes. Share it. Have a beer and you have a good time. You get just full enough. Not too full
because I think I'm full enough and ready to have, well maybe not now, after a walk some more food.
Cheers and see you soon. Let's go to the coffee shop. After all the heavy food we needed a quick recharge.
We took the elevator up to Café Glockenspiel. Right above Marienplatz. Their apple strudel will
leave you speechless. We made it to the coffee shop. The coffee shop name is Café Glockenspiel.
This is a historic cafe. Well we came here for the view because I heard that you can see Marienplatz
but the entire room today has been booked so we can't sit over there. But the inside is beautiful
by the way. Very traditional. Cozy. Cool vibes. There is an outside area over there but you can't
see much as also there's no table. But nice service. Everyone is super friendly. What did we order?
A couple of coffees and an apple strudel. Apple strudel is famous here. It's famous
in Austria. We haven't had it yet. We didn't have dessert before. I'm really looking forward to it.
Look at this beautiful apple strudel. Completely swimming in vanilla sauce. By the way the plate
is piping hot. Smells good. Now let's give it a try. Oh so soft. So delicate. Okay. Okay.
Look. Look at this. Look at this. Beautiful. Beautiful.
The apple. Crunchy and insanely warm and with a cream. Sweet but not too sweet. Vanilla cream
which is cold. Oh my god. Perfect contrast. This is exactly what I needed. After the massive
port knuckle this is exactly what I needed. It would have been better with the view but
you can't get everything in life. Now we've got an espresso doppio here.
Shirley got a macchiato. Oh yeah that's good. Oh yeah that's good. Here they're making it from a
proper machine not the one like at the convenience store which is very common in here. Now we're
gonna finish this. Rest a bit because outside is incredibly cold and then go for something else.
Oh actually I want to show you the view is over here. I hope you can see it. It's absolutely
stunning. The waiter told us that you need to book a table if you want to have even a coffee here
because this is the area everyone fights for. And look at the staircase. This is so beautiful.
This place really is magical. Now let's go for a walk.
We saved the absolute biggest for last. Welcome to the legendary Opera House.
Founded in 1589 as an exclusive royal brewery it is now the most famous beer hall
on the entire planet. Stepping inside is pure unfiltered Bavarian chaos.
We are talking thousands of people, giant one liter steins, live oompa bands and an atmosphere
you literally cannot find anywhere else in the world. There is absolutely no better way
to finish 48 hours in Munich. I'm just so happy to be here. Look at this guy on the side
All right let's go find a seat. After going around a little bit this place by the way
is huge. Several floors outside area it's like a maze. We found a spot where you have to fight.
No matter what time of the day you come you have to fight. Now we are really next to the kitchen.
Look how many dishes there are. The menu is not huge but they sell traditional dishes,
local quite fast and of course beer. Look at this, look at this. This is one liter of beer. I hope
they're gonna clean it up soon because I really just want a beer, a few sausages, something simple
to share in the middle. But you know where we are right guys? This is one of the most iconic,
legendary, popular landmarks in the city. Unbelievable. I cannot believe I am here.
Our food has arrived. It took a while. They're very busy. I already had half of my beer.
Now what are we having? This is Obatzda. It's a cheese spread made with three cheese and pink
paprika. So with mini pretzel, cherry tomatoes and onions. Over here we have a few types of sausages.
One, two and three. So with pot, sauerkraut and look at this.
Look at this. A massive pretzel. I love pretzel. I absolutely love it.
See you can get lots of other dishes. All the things that we've had so far. When you come to
these kind of places you get beer, you're so into the atmosphere. See you get sausages,
pretzel with the spread and just enjoy your time. But we have to start with the cheese.
All right now we're talking. Let's start with the spread together with this pretzel. Beautiful.
Also soft. Super fresh. I actually before coming to Germany I didn't know if I was going to like
pretzel or not. This thing actually surprised me. I absolutely love it. Now let's try this.
Onion too.
Oh that's nice. Oh that's nice. Creamy. Yeah into paprika. That's a surprise.
Absolutely perfect match with this. See this is like a snack that you share in the middle.
Beautiful. Beautiful dish. Let's try the sausage now. Bouncy. This flour.
Oh my god the sauerkraut. So strong. Wow. It's a punch in the razor. Now let's try this one.
It's not my favorite sausage. Now let's try this sausage right here with a bit of sauerkraut.
This one is good. I don't know the type of meat. Maybe similar to the one that we had this morning
with veal. More juicy. I prefer this one a lot better.
The food is okay. You come here as I say for the atmosphere,
the music. I mean this is such a historic place since the 16th century. Unbelievable.
Service of course is what it is. This place is always full. Unfortunately you need to wait a
lot. It's very touristy. Don't get me wrong. But also very local. You see lots of locals.
And I think it's worth. It's worth. Such a beautiful place. Mamma mia. Absolutely insane.
Look at this.
Oh did you like it? Yeah it's amazing experience. It's an amazing experience. I know it's touristy
but everyone should come here. 100%. It's a must. It's a landmark. Let's stop for a moment
just to say that this is the end of our video. We had a fantastic time here in Munich. Did you
like the city of Munich? Yes so beautiful. And 100% we will come back. Maybe during the
October fest. Oh yeah. That would be great yeah. Now which dish was your favorite? Okay easy.
The sausage this morning. You remember the white sausages? The pork knuckle and the
yeah me too. But even the doughnut. The traditional doughnut. That's a must. So
if you were to pick one. All right the crispy pork. The crispy pork. Oh my god. I'm tossing
between the pork and the white sausages. You know what? I go for the white sausages at the
local spot. And which dish was your favorite in this video? Let us know in the comment
section down below. Thank you so much for watching and see you in the next video. See ya.
