James Kaufman, World News Report, today, April 25th, 2025.

Ladies and gentlemen, we've had another 6.3 magnitude earthquake,
this time in Ecuador.
This rang in as an 8 on the DIDSMI, a 7 on the Shake Map.
And the USGS gave it a depth of 35 kilometers.
That's a fairly large quake there. Of course that's
right near a plate tectonic boundary
and right under a bunch of active volcanoes.
Now we're going to go over both this earthquake
and another earthquake that we've had in Ohio.
We've had, yes, another 3.1 magnitude earthquake
in Ohio at only 3.4 kilometers of depth.
I did do some back research here
and found that Ohio has been actually a large oil and
gas producer since 1859
and has produced over a billion barrels of oil.
Based on this area, and I did zoom in and take a look.
and it did just disappear.
This is going to be another fracking earthquake. Jumping over to
volcanoesandearthquakes.com we have our 6.3 magnitude here in Ecuador.
You can see that it's
on a plate tectonic boundary that comes through here
and also right under several volcanoes that
are in full eruption, minor eruption and awakening.
I'm gonna get some detailed information on that.
Looks like the USGS is the main source of information,
35 kilometers of depth, and we
also have the Germans chiming in at a 6.2 magnitude,
21 kilometers of depth, the French
at a 6.3, 30 kilometers of depth.
Let's take a look at some details,
but before we take a look at some details, I wanted y'all
to see how much action.
There's under these volcanoes in Central America,
which is part of North America, and here
in, well, Northern South America,
including in Colombia and Ecuador and Peru, and even
down the Peruvian-Chilean wedge here, which is a volcanic park.
It's like this area has a lot of movement currently,
and I'm guessing that is magma
movement under the surface.
The only other thing we need to talk about here, of course, is...
What's going on over in Turkey?
This has gotten to be ridiculous here and we're going to have some
additional awakening volcanoes
or we're going to have rapid plate tectonic movement
and or formation in this area.
Crazy amount, crazy swarm of earthquakes
In that area, and we can see the big one still right there, the 6.3.
Let's get some information on the 6.3,
very strong magnitude 6.3 earthquake, 20 kilometers
northeast of Esmeraldas, Ecuador.
Taking a look at our earthquake details,
we have the USGS as a primary source here, a
depth of 35 kilometers,
and 2.7 atomic bombs worth of energy were created.
So I was, in fact,
Did, in fact, look for a tsunami in event mode.
We'll go over that in just a second.
All right, comparing earthquake data from different reporting agencies.
First, we have the USGS coming in at 35 kilometers at 6.3,
followed by Germany coming in at 6.23, 21 kilometers of depth,
followed by the Europeans coming in at 6.3, 30 kilometers of depth.
Followed by a raspberry shake, coming in at 6.5,
default depth of 10 kilometers.
If we'll just jump down here,
we'll notice that this asterisk here says,
a depth given as 10 kilometers often means that the depth
of the quake could not be determined with sufficient accuracy.
And that's the case for all the 10 kilometer depth guesses here.
They're not deep underground military bases.
We have the Colombian government coming in at a 6.3,
14 kilometers of depth.
We have the French coming in at a 5.71,
very conservative at a default depth as well.
Everyone's chiming in on this one.
Next, we have Nicaragua coming in at 6.2,
52 kilometers of depth, much deeper.
They're in the area. The Italians came in at 6'3",
2.3 kilometers of depth, extremely shallow.
The Italians, or excuse me, the Incorporated Research Institution
for Seismology came in at a 6.3, 35 kilometers of depth.
The Australians here came in at 6.2, 34 kilometers of depth.
And it looks like, well.
The Institute of Geophysics of the National Polytechnic School
in Quito came in at 6.0 with 30 kilometers of depth.
And it looks like Brazil came in at 6.5 with 25 kilometers of depth.
This might have been a stronger quake than any of us will ever know.
I did check the National Data Buoy Center for...
a buoy in event mode anywhere near where this earthquake popped off
and we've got nothing
although we do have a buoy in event mode over just south
of Indonesia where we have
so much activity today there's a lot of volcanoes erupting
and a lot of earthquakes
in this area we'll go over that before we go let's take
a look at this event as you can see
It's going to be this little red area here,
these are the actual swells, so it's going
to be a very small event, we'll get measurements on it,
probably not worthy of being called
a tsunami, but definitely making, we're putting our buoy in event mode.
Up close and personal, buoy 56003.
The green is the water column or the swells,
the event is this red area here, this is the event
blown up here.
It actually moves the water column
from 5,659.7 meters to 5,659.4 meters,
about 0.3 of a meter, so we'll say about
a foot. Pretty impressive there.
Well, impossible to guess which one of these many,
many earthquakes here.
Put that buoy in event mode,
we can see all the volcanoes popping off here,
and the larger earthquakes,
along with just all the earthquakes swarming around all of Indonesia,
up to the Philippines, etc.
A very active area, as always.
So, in summary, we've had a magnitude 6.3 earthquake,
releasing 2.7 atomic bombs worth
of energy down in Ecuador,
right on a plate tectonic boundary, and right under a bunch
of awakening, erupting, and partially erupting volcanoes.
Really nothing to see here.
We're going to keep you updated.
This all has to do with...
All of the geomagnetic storms we've had over
the last three or four days,
they've charged these plates and they're ready to expand.
God bless each and every one of you guys.

Bizarro world.
