On a snowy but warm Wednesday, the plan is simple.
Walk, stop and stretch, walk a bit more,
stop for some tea, and you guessed it, walk again.
Maureen Cayley-Verdonk is joining the hiking group for the first time.
I like walking. I like the peacefulness of the wilderness.
And I like that somebody else has organized it,
and it's outside on this beautiful day.
She says activities for seniors are limited
in Dawson during the winter months.
Well, well, well. What will I do?
I will continue to walk with my friends. That's my main thing.
I would love to have some Qigong in Dawson City.
The hike is organized by Elder Active and guided by Carolyn Paul.
This is the fourth one. Paul says it's a small group, but a mighty one.
She says these hikes not only get people together and active,

Barbara
Patterson
is new
to Dawson.
She and her husband Ken joined the group when it started.
Well, it's beautiful,
and we have a nice sunny day today, and it's warm.
I'm getting hot, actually.
Thank you very much.
And the trees, this is how I always think of Dawson,
is trees lined with snow like all winter,
and it's absolutely beautiful.
The hikes will happen every Wednesday throughout
the winter, weather depending.
It's for seniors, but anyone is welcome.
See you on the trails.
