AI GeneratedErica reviews the MVST Treva aluminum luggage, testing its durability and functionality during a trip to Japan. While she praises its stunning aesthetic, affordability compared to luxury brands, and excellent wheel performance, she notes some functional flaws with the interior organizers and clasps.
It's just so gorgeous. Hey everyone, Erica here. I'm going to be reviewing the MVST Treva aluminum
luggage. Now I'm going to put on the screen right here what the benefits are of using aluminum
luggage. So aluminum is very strong, very durable, so if you're looking for something that can
protect really important items or you're looking for something that can last a lifetime, aluminum
is the way to go. Now here's the drawback. Aluminum is very expensive. There's a lot of
very good luxury brands out there, like I'm talking thousands of dollars. Aluminum can be
expensive. So this is MVST's aluminum Treva luggage. So I'm going to be taking this with
me traveling and I'm going to see how well this holds up. This is a fraction of the cost of a lot
of other popular brands out there. I really love how MVST looks. It just looks so pretty, like it
looks bulletproof, okay? So I decided to get the medium size. I have so many carry-ons already and
if I have a checked luggage, you know that the airport staff, some of those people just throw
those bags around. So what better to try an aluminum luggage than to put it to the test and
have someone else handle it. I'll be letting you know if this aluminum luggage is worth the hype,
also if it's worth your money. Okay, before I take it with me for travels, I just wanted to
show you how beautiful it is, okay? So here is the gorgeous design. There are other aluminum
luggages out there, but I really just like this one because there's so many lines. I kind of feel
like I'm carrying a box of cash. Also, aluminum is heavy, okay? Just saying. It is a lot heavier
than polycarbonate, but that's because you're not supposed to be able to dent it. I think in the
testing, they drove a car over it. I'm not going to drive a car over this one, but I will use my
body and just take a look at it that way. So here are the wheels. These are 360 degree wheels. These
are really nice and smooth. I feel like out of all the luggages I own, for sure this one is the most
metal-like. I really can't even squish it because sometimes there's a little bit of billowing when
I'm on it. Also, it came with a vegan leather luggage tag. Look at this part. Slow release.
That's a nice perk. Also, there are no zippers on the outside of this luggage, so it's just these
two buckles. TSA approved, and you can set your combo lock. MVST also has a lot of other colors.
It is a clamshell size. It also comes with a plastic cover, which is really nice. Let me just
show you the inside. I would say unzip a little. Pretty dang good. Very good, and the mesh material
is good. It's just like the bigger mesh material. I do appreciate the really nice cotton twill
material through here, and it looks like where it is connected is nice, good quality. I'm tugging
it, and I'm not feeling a lot of give, which is good. You can unzip this flap off if you would
like, so it's detachable. The material is pretty good. Nothing super impressive, but I'd rather
this bag not be like $200 more just to have a fancier inside. All right, everyone. I'm taking
this bag. I'm going to go on my trip, and I'm going to let you know what I think about it, okay?
I'll see you later. I'm in Shibuya shopping. Uh-oh. Thank you. Hi. Okie dokie, everyone. I am back from my trip.
I took this guy to Japan with me, and we got to talk about this. All right, let's just talk about
the outside. The outside. Now, I just want to say that this plastic thing was amazing. Look how many
scuffs there are. I don't know if you can see the scuffs because of the reflection. Even though
aluminum is meant to handle a lot, I just like to keep my stuff really nice. I want to show you some
footage on the screen of some aluminum luggages that are banged up, okay? Look at this right here.
It is so banged up. Eventually, I'm sure that's what's going to happen to this luggage, but in the
meantime, while it's still beautiful, I'm going to keep it beautiful. There are just like a little
bit of scuffs on the handle. This is just from handling it at the airport, some of the trains,
but this is going to come off if I probably just scratch it or buff it off with white magic eraser.
Also, for me personally, I like using these plastic luggage tags just because the ones where you have
to unbuckle it, they're kind of annoying, so I didn't want to bother with the vegan leather
luggage tag that this bag came with. So if someone wants mine, they can totally have it.
Okay, let's talk about the wheels. I already wiped them down, so they are nice and clean,
but man, these wheels were awesome. So if we're talking about the outer part of this bag,
everything on the outside, fantastic. We were rolling everywhere and they were fantastic. I
cannot express that enough. Regarding the trolley handle, I really liked it. It was really great. It
has three settings, one, two, three. This was really wonderful and everything was great because
this width is just the standard width. It was perfect. It held my souvenirs just fine. The
only thing is I didn't think that the handle was super comfortable, but that's because in order to
keep this beautiful shape, you want to have the handle be kind of edged like this. So that was
just one thing I didn't like as much, but sometimes to keep things super beautiful,
you have to sacrifice on the comfort. So I do like, I think it's just so pretty. So I actually
didn't mind as much. So everything when it came to durability, pacifying colors, wheels,
trolley, and outer shell, very fantastic quality. But let's talk about the functionality, okay?
It is now time to judge functionality. So when it came to the buckles down here, I did notice that
when you keep this part at the bottom, it is a lot easier to do your buckle. If you have it flipped
over this way where the handle is at the top, it is a lot more awkward to do your buckles because
you have to go like, right, it's awkward, like that, like that, right? So it's just a lot easier,
naturally easier if this handle is here. Now I'm going to tell you something I did not like
about this bag. The quality is good, okay? The quality is very good. However, let's talk about
functionality, okay? Now this is just me being picky, okay? I'm a very picky person. This part,
it seems like it'd be a good idea just to have something that clasps on. There's like a bungee
thing right here. That seems totally fine, right? However, if you are an overpacker like me, we have
a bunch of souvenirs that we brought back from Japan, and I also pack a lot of clothes in here,
and every time, now remember, if this handle's at the bottom, that's the easier way to do this buckle
thing, okay? But every time, every time, and it got on my nerves. Actually, a few times it did get on
my nerves. I would close it, and this part would come off. This part would come off, okay? And your
stuff just, yard sale all over the floor. So that part was very annoying to me. So what you need to
do, and here's the thing, this is the medium size, so if you have a bigger size, you're gonna have to like
hold it. You're gonna have to hold it, hold it, hold it, hold it, hold it, which for me,
both the times, okay, to be fair, both the times I was in a big rush. I was doing this sponsored
Japan trip, so I didn't have like a lot of time. It's just, it's so much easier this way, okay? I'm
just saying that. All right, so that's one thing I didn't appreciate. The quality is good, but the
functionality, not so good. So if MVST is watching this video, it would be good just maybe just
attach it somehow. Don't leave a little hook like this, because your stuff's gonna fall out. The
other thing about the quality, the quality is good. It just doesn't feel like luxury, and if it looks
like luxury on the outside, I want it to feel like luxury on the inside. But I do understand if most
of my money is going to the outer shell and the durability of this bag, then I rather have cheaper
feeling. Even though it's good quality, I rather have it not be as beautiful and luxurious,
especially if it's to keep this bag from costing like $200 more. All right, let's talk about the
other side. So where everything is attached is really good quality. The cotton twill, very
fantastic, very fantastic. Here's the thing, this clasp right here is unnecessarily heavier than I
would like it to be. If you're gonna have a clasp, then sure, have it be beautiful, but that means
also have it be fantastic, okay? All right, so this clasp is heavier, so I'm expecting amazing quality.
Let me just show you something, and I didn't actually appreciate this. Don't use it as
compression, okay? Now, I just want to say this bag is beautiful. Would I buy it? Yes, I would. It's just
I'm picky on the inside, so it's just some sacrifices that you have to have. So let's just
say you pack this full of clothes, and I'm also going to show some footage on the screen just to
show you twice, twice this happened. Okay, so when you pull this, that's it. Don't even pull it a
little bit tighter, but if you pull it a little bit more, this part just pops right out, and that part
annoyed me because it got me like two or three times. I got it twice on film, so this clasp is
not actually that great. Does it do the job? Yes. Does it do the job when you are trying to pack things
a lot? No, it does not, but it does stay clasped, but it's just something I wanted to note that I
didn't appreciate as much. Now, the bag is so beautiful. It's just so gorgeous, you know? I got
so many compliments. I think I got four compliments, yeah, when I was in Japan. About four. It's just so
gorgeous. I was so happy I was able to take it with me. I love the size. I love the medium size so much.
I would travel with this again. Just those two annoyances on the inside, that's fine. I rather
have a bag, an aluminum bag that is affordable, not like a thousand dollars, still looks gorgeous,
still has great rolling, okay? Because let's say everything else was perfect, but the rolling sucked.
I couldn't even recommend this to you. Or let's just say everything was good, but this part was
horrible. I couldn't recommend this to you. So everything that this luggage is supposed to do
is great. MBST, if you can just fix those two things in the middle, this bag is going to be a
five out of five if you just change those two things on the inside. Other than that, I love this
bag so much. Yes, it is expensive, but remember aluminum is very durable. Aluminum is expensive.
A lot of other brands are like 30 percent, 50 percent, 100 percent more than what this one
costs. So when you do see the price tag, you're going to be like, oh my goodness. But just remember,
you cannot compare aluminum to polycarbonate, okay? That's just how it goes. So if you are
looking for an aluminum luggage, take a look at MBST. If you are looking for a carry-on, I have
not done a carry-on review. This bag was 11 pounds. The carry-on, I believe, is like a pound or two or
three lighter. I'll have this linked in the video description and in the first pinned comment below.
I'll also put some other videos on the screen right here.
