There was a football game on Thursday.
It may not have seemed like it.
Seemed like there was just a slot bowl.
But, you know, the Ravens and the Jaguars played.
Jacksonville just absolutely torched the Ravens.
And listen, this is a Ravens team down to its third quarterback,
Pagano.
I love the story of Mignano, but I didn't even listen.
They did.
Everyone's like, oh, look at the third stringer.
Look at him getting his opportunity.
John, I would love for you, because I'm sick of it.
We need better quarterbacks in this league.
This is unbelievable.
Can we stop it with the story like this guy had a chance in this game?
Can we stop it when we stop doing this?
It's like...
An undrafted guy that makes it to this point.
It's cool that his family's watching the game.
That's great.
It's great his wife and his brother are in the stands.
You show them.
They get a showing because after that, stop trying to talk this guy up
unless he does something.
I'm watching this game,
and Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth are talking about this guy
like he can actually play.
The Ravens' offensive coordinator, God bless his heart.
He dug so deep in his bag,
he almost put something out someplace he wasn't supposed to.
Bro, these players, they were running.
He was trying.
He was that offensive coordinator gave you everything he had.
He emptied the bag.
Boy, they could barely make a first down.
John, look at this offensive line coach.
He was so bad.
It ain't you yelling at the wrong people, big fella.
You should be yelling at the people who they snapping the ball to.
But this is the situation.
You wouldn't have traded.
You wouldn't have traded for a starting quarterback
from another team to come to your team
if this guy was any good.
You wouldn't do it.
And so I understand that it's a television product
and you're trying to give folks a story,
but at some point you just got to call a spade a spade
and go, well, he's struggling tonight.
And that was obvious after the opening drive.
It was clear he was going to struggle.
Then it started raining, which, you know,
y'all know how I feel about these weather games.
It started raining, and at that point, what did we watch?
What are we watching?
He was no match for the Jaguars.
And that's a good thing.
If Stu Puntley's in that game, the Ravens have a chance in that game.
So you can't really be like, oh, it was everybody else.
No, it was him.
It was him.
Stop telling us the fairy tale story, bro.
And just let us, we can see the game.
We can see it.
Why am I blanking on the name?
The dude from the Giants, the Italian guy that everyone was so.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
A couple years ago.
Tommy DeVito.
Tommy DeVito.
Everyone was going crazy about him, and he was not good.
It was just like, oh, hey, he's got his family.
He's Italian, and his agent's there with the chain, and yay.
And the fedora.
I think it was the fedora the guy kept wearing.
Yeah, yeah.
And, dude, good for him.
He got a commercial and some endorsements out of it.
In any case, so, John, you mentioned the quarterback situation.
My man, 60 yards and a blowout.
What are we talking about?
You know what I mean?
It was just a disaster.
And it was a disaster last week.
Like, this is not new.
The Ravens went to Fagnano last week, and it was an absolute disaster.
I think he had, like, a few good throws, and people were like,
uh-oh, uh-oh.
Come on, man, relax.
But you mentioned about the quarterback
because they did trade for Jacoby Brissett,
which was actually, in my opinion,
a really good trade for them if they're still serious
about winning this year. And you look at this Ravens team,
they're going to be four and five.
So it's not like they're completely out of it,
right? They're kind of still in
sort of the mix. It's getting a little bit late,
but again, they're still trying.
They're in the mix of what?
I mean, listen, they're not eliminated yet,
so you got to still keep trying to fight and hope
that Lamar comes back before the end of the season.
I mean, that's just their philosophy,
is it not? They still feel like they wouldn't have traded
for Brissette if it wasn't for this.
They still feel like they're in it, right?
I mean, yes, from a standpoint of what you're saying.
No, I don't believe that.
Right, right.
I had to check myself.
In the building, they should still feel like they have a chance.
In reality, when you look up and you see the team that you're behind
and in your division,
you're not in a situation where it's the NFC South
where because the division is bad, you have a chance,
or the AFC South, which used to be that situation,
but it's not anymore because Jacksonville
is running away with that division.
So, in your division, if you can't keep up in your division,
it's less likely that you will make the playoffs.
That's just the way that this thing has rolled for a while
because, again, in their division alone,
you probably got three teams competing for a playoff spot.
Yeah.
Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Cleveland.
So, I find it hard-pressed to think that they'll get in
when you have two playoff teams in front of you
that are also in your division.
