New Pokémon drop

It's 7:34, and if you are familiar with Pokemon cards, they are highly popular, especially with certain age groups. Several fans have been waiting in line all morning long to get a new batch of cards. Fox 13's Matthew McClellan has been hanging out with them this morning. Not just a few either, Matt. A lot. Yeah. And when you say certain age groups, I'm like, well, which certain age groups? Because I really feel like every age group is here. It's the craziest thing. I remember Pokemon cards from like when I was in third grade. People were, you know, we'd be collecting and trading them on the playground. But I wanted to show you this so-called merchandise vehicle. This like display cardboard says, do not remove. It's in my hand. My friend Lambros. Paz Palakis is with me once again. We talked at 5.30. How did you get this? It says you're not supposed to remove it. So when you buy all the packs, they just give it to you. What can I say? Okay, fair enough. You and I talked earlier. You've been back and forth between Best Buy, where we are now, and Walmart. Walmart is now sold out. And you are now the owner of an $800 valued card. I'm the proud owner of the Mega Rayquaza. It is one out of 1,000 packs, so you have to buy 1,000 packs to get one of these. It is the holy grail of Delta Reigns, and it is the hardest card to get right now, and I pulled it out of a sleeve, which is five bucks. It's incredible. I want to zoom out just a little bit, because not everybody is as deep into this as you are. What's happening today? Explain the drop, and what brought everybody out? Basically, people have lined up from five o'clock yesterday. It is now sunrise, so they've been here since sunset yesterday. And so as you can see the people in the front of the line can get a better spot and as you can see the people in the back it wraps all the way around. So there is currently no ETBs, there is nothing left at Walmart, no sleeves, no nothing. You can't get any Delta Rains anywhere. The only way that you can get Delta Rains is coming to this Best Buy or you can hit up the Tampa Card Shop over there and they sell them for I think $1. Like the retail price, so obviously they've got to make some money. They've got to raise it a little bit. I'm going to let you go, Lambros, because I did want to talk to one other person. I've got a dad and his two sons down here. This is Rob. And the reason I wanted to talk to you, Rob, is because I noticed you had the hatch popped on your SUV, and you guys are kind of doing breakfast, and you're about to do school drop-off. What is your game plan today? Uh, they pretty much slept in, I didn't keep them in line tonight, okay, so, um, but they slept in there, and we just kind of hung out, and... You can say hey, hey, do you want to say good morning? Say good morning. Hey. Hey, I like your PJs. Good morning. Are you a collector? No. What are you looking for? What Pokemon is behind my back? What Pokemon, um, I didn't see it, I would name it if you would show it to me, I probably could. Let me see. That is, uh, it's not Charizard. It's the one after Charizard. What is it? That's Charizard. What is this one? This is a BX Charizard. Oh, BX Charizard. Okay, so we're collecting. What are you hoping to get your hands on? You said to me, you were like, we don't want to pay the secondary resale prices when these hit the market. I mean, if you're going to buy them after market, they're probably going to be $500 plus. Here, they're like $179, and I got two kids to buy them for. I love the little chairs here. Yeah, yeah, I got little chairs for them and everything. We're going to wrap it. I feel like you're making a memory right now. Tell me about that. Yeah, that's kind of what this is all about, is kind of teaching them about patience, standing in line, getting to spend the time with them and everything, and Pokemon brings that out in them, and it's a good long-term investment for these kids.
