I've never seen players look this terrified
of someone on the basketball court.
The sheer level
of dominance Wemby
commands is unbelievable.
We witnessed a couple of overtime thrillers.
7 to play.
Final shot.
It's going to be George.
Got it off in time.
And a lot of spectacular
performances
by the leagues
biggest superstars.
We had 14 games last night with a bunch
of crazy things happening, so we gotta start
It started in Texas where Wemby was playing out of his mind.
Dallas has been a good shooting team this month.
And that long stride for the first bucket before, right?
Before the game.
Like how much all of us admire him.
What he gets done.
He's only an undersized four in this league.
How awesome.
Cooper is one hell of a player, don't get
me wrong, but he's no match for the alien
as we see him get destroyed on both ends of the court,
and Victor was just heating up.
Wemby fakes the pass, goes inside, draws the foul.
Look at the ball handling.
Gets inside and the finish!
My goodness! I was 100% sure that he traveled on that play
because it's humanly impossible
to reach the basket without dribbling
from the three-point line. But it's clean. This
graphic tells the whole story about
who's who and Wemby just doubles down.
They gave him some delts
and some triceps in that animation, I'll tell you what.
Triples
down,
quadruples
down,
Are you kidding me?
This is not fair.
Wembanyama shut down all three of Flagg,
P.J. and Gafford in a span of 10 seconds,
lord have mercy on his opponents.
To be completely fair, Gafford did have
his little moment against Wemby, blocking his
layup attempt in the first quarter.
Regardless, D-A-Lin ruled the first half posting 29 points,
15 rebounds and 5 blocks to put
Put his team up by 17.
Damn, those types of numbers are unreachable
for 80% of the players across the league,
but he did it in less than 17 minutes of action.
The Mavs picked up the pace a little bit in the second half,
but Wembleyama was still causing them nightmares.
Wembley guarded by Martin, backs in, pulls up, shot is good.
They started chipping away when Wembley went
to the bench, looking to continue,
alley-oop, it's in Wembleyama.
He just threw an underhand scoop pass,
and look at how high Victor Weminyama goes to finish that.
Weminyama helps out.
Irving's guard again.
Foul.
Backs it in at one.
The hit.
Threw it up.
This is ridiculous, he has the complete package at 7-4.
A true unicorn, but a terrifying one.
Check this out. Kyrie penetrates along the baseline
and drops the pass to Clayton Jr
who gets spooked by Wemby's presence
and the Slenderman sticks out his tongue to complete
the picture. He's injecting fear
into his peers with every move he makes.
Wemby calling for it, five to shoot.
He's got Martin on him, leans in, school player backs it in.
However,
Najee
Marshall
happened
in
With 13 of his 22 points
when it mattered the most,
Nagy brought Dallas right back into
the game.
And considering the fact that Stephon Castle,
De'Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell and Julian Champagny
combined for just 29 points on a horrible 9
of 44 shooting from the field, Wemba Nyama
Nama had to do it all by himself in the clutch.
Wemby's going to try a three.
That's good.
Slobs it in.
Wemby shot is good.
That action once again.
37 points.
An electrifying performance tonight from Victor Wembanyama.
Wembanyama hauls in the rebound.
Back up.
He banks it home.
49 points.
And hoes on with strong hands.
Throws it ahead to Harper.
Almost knocked away.
Harper gets inside.
Threes and ones put back layups after everything seemed lost.
Wemby was a one-man wrecking show last night for the Spurs,
but so was Nagy on the other end.
Spurs go up by three.
Martial was marvellous down the stretch,
but after a couple of empty possessions on
both ends of the floor,
Victor found himself on the foul line with 24 seconds to play.
After putting all that work thus far,
he split the free throws to put his team up by a hair.
Here.
Still, the Mavs had plenty of time to set up a play
and tried to spoil Wimby's huge night.
Shot clock at 7.
Irving makes the drive, gets inside, falling away,
puts it up, off the mark, fight for the rebound,
Marshall had it, and a masterpiece from Victor.
Truly, a one of a kind stat line by one of a kind player.
52 points, 24 rebounds and 8 blocks in the very close win at the end.
In LA we had another roller coaster
of a game between the Clippers and the Heat.
After falling down by 20 points in the first half,
Miami chewed off the deficit little
by little to make things interesting at the end.
Mitchell, Giannis inside, big finish,
tiptoes around the defense and hammers it down.
The Heat, led by Giannis,
Klay and Bam, orchestrated
a huge turnaround
in the second half to take
over the lead in crunch time.
But Darius Garland didn't come all the way up here just to quit.
DG put the Clippers up by a single point
and the score stayed that way until he inexplicably
lost the ball at half court,
turning the finish
into pure chaos.
Is this for real?
Giannis had 4 tries to put back the ball in the basket
but he missed all of them before
getting fouled at last.
And like never before, he delivered
from the foul line knocking down both clutch shots
to take over the lead.
But unfortunately for them,
Rui Hachimura drew the foul on the other side and split
the free throws to tie the game up.
So with 2 seconds on the clock,
the Heat got another chance for the win.
Adebayo comes up short on the potential game winner
and we go to overtime.
And there, Darius
Garland decided to make
up for previously
fumbling the ball.
DG scores 9 of his 26 points in the extra period
to put his team up by 4 with less than
80 seconds to play.
Desperately looking for a bucket,
the Heat go to Bim who gets a similar look to the one
at the end of regulation but this time he makes it.
Off by two, the Clippers had multiple chances
to seal the deal in crunch time but failed
to do so eventually leaving 3.3 seconds
for the Heat to come up with a miracle.
Captain Clay wins the game for Miami with the corner three
at the end stunning the entire arena.
He had a vintage performance in this one racking up eight threes
on his way to 30 points. Amazing.
Speaking of that LeBron has been in vintage mode
for the past five six years and last night he was
throwing dimes like an unk in the rec center.
Well as a guy that can score off the bench James
into a double kicks it out. Shot clock down to eight.
Great backdoor cut and Cade Cunningham's
Three.
Great defense, LeBron James, with the block.
James was in his Magic Johnson bag,
setting up his teammates
for some easy points all
night long.
He finished the game just 2 assists shy of a triple-double,
but with this bucket over
Collins caught another milestone,
16,000 made field goals for his career.
That is mind boggling.
Anyway, up by 10 late in the first half,
Joel Embiid got into a little scuffle with
Tolu Smith which caused a hilarious reaction
by the fellas in the studio.
And Tolo Smith gets...
The Beats still fired up lots of
piece of them but.
With all the bodies on the floor, coaches,
players, that ain't going to happen.
Brujaha. Excellent use of Brujaha between Joel Embiid.
Oh, call the cops.
Yeah.
Police presence.
Polo Smith.
I've been kissed harder.
Joel kept getting
on the Pistons' nerves
in the second half
as well because…
Embiid spins, goes into the middle of the lane,
banks at home, plus one.
Another foul shot coming up for Embiid is already 7
for 7 as he has some fun with his teammates.
Embiid had 26 points and 15 boards in this one
and the Sixers led by as many as 18 points early
in the fourth. And he wasn't even the team's scoring leader.
Jalen Brown had 30 on 58%
efficiency. But then the Pistons started mounting a comeback
and got dangerously close in the final
Topson running the court.
Duncan cuts it to 8 and
after Vijay fumbles
the ball on the other
end, Kate Cunningham
gets the entire crowd
on its feet when…
Seeing their lead go all the way down to four,
the Sixers must stop the bleeding right now.
However…
Now he drives.
Three seconds left.
Embiid for three.
No good.
Another rebound Thompson.
Pulls up three.
Blocked by Jalen Brown.
And then saved to Embiid.
What a defensive gem by Brown.
JB comes up with the heroic game-saving block
on Cade's 3-point attempt and Philly hangs
on in the penalty shootout to get their 8th win out
of the first 9 games of the season.
They're rolling.
The Avengers starting 5 had 99 of the team's 112 points, that's 88%.
We ain't done with the wild finishes
though as the game between the Pels and the Jazz
also came down to the wire.
Didn't get the switch, on the spin,
got to the rack though and goes to the line again!
Lorry put Utah up by four
with back-to-back threes,
but the Pels didn't want to disappoint
their
fans, so...
After a wild sequence,
Dejounte Murray draws the foul
and steps on the line with a chance
to tie the game.
And he does just that ever so calmly.
Still, the Jazz had 6.5 seconds to try
and stun the crowd in New Orleans.
Now, Herb all over him. Final shot.
It's going to be George. Got it up in time.
And wins it for Utah.
I don't know if that's good.
I don't think that's good, Joe.
Let's see, they're saying no.
I don't think that's good.
They're saying they're going to look at it.
Yeah, I don't think that's good.
You think it's still on his fingers?
Yeah, I think he held onto that a little too long.
It was late, but does he get it off in time?
Keontae George thinks he won the game for Utah
but on the replay we see that he still
has the ball in his hands when the buzzer sounds
so we have another overtime on our
hands.
K didn't let his emotions get to him
though as he opened
the extra 5 minutes strong.
Wow, George takes Matteson to his own hands
and puts his team up by 6 with his 39th point
of the night.
Let's go!
Unfortunately
for him,
from that point on,
the Pels
completely
took over.
Now the clear-out,
mid-range, he's got it.
Sadiq Bain led New Orleans to an electric 14-0 run
to turn the 6-point deficit into
an 8-point lead and get their second win
in back-to-back overtime games.
At the end, Zion led the balanced attack
of 5 guys scoring at least 19 points.
The Pelicans are looking like they're finally starting to click.
And the Rockets were clicking on all cylinders coming
into last night's game against the
Wolves but Jonathan Kuminga shook up their confidence.
Durant stands him up on a screen, Shingun will roll,
excellent defense, switching over was Kaminga,
he gets a forearm up and he clips Shingun right in the mug.
He did not mean to do that, that was not intentional.
Kaminga goes for the block there, Shingun getting there and then, yes.
Just give me some criteria for a flag or foul.
It's going to be a flagrant foul, there's wind up and there's contact,
but Shingun is being super physical and that...
I wasn't talking about
this elbow
to Shane Goon's face
but rather for his late
game heroics.
Kuminga went
on a personal 8-2 run
in the clutch, pumping the
lead from 2-8 points with
less than a minute to go.
And Rudy Gobert just put the
exclamation point with this.
The Wolves shocked the Rockets
on their home floor taking them down from the first seat
in the West.
The new leaders are surprisingly enough
the Portland Trail Blazers.
It's the clock, and the Blazers will go to the locker room
with a 13-point lead.
Takes off.
Dives into Denny.
Denny now attacks to Holladay for three.
Beres in.
Klingon, Dame and Denny all had 20 plus points
in the dominant win over Phoenix despite Dylan
Brooks trying his best to get into their heads.
First he randomly sticks his leg out after
the whistle to mess with Lillard.
And then, he talks trash to Avdija while on the free throw line,
thinking he would influence
the shot, but none of that bears fruit for him
at the end as the Blazers win it by 13
points to go up to 6-1 record for the season.
The Lakers are breathing in their neck
as Luka Doncic was toying with the Kings last
night.
Just under 4 minutes to play now in the quarter,
Doncic, here he goes, up and down,
I think I saw a stat earlier where he was number one.
There he goes.
He was number one in defense efficiency when guarding the ball.
Yep, you did read that correctly.
And he's making the decisions.
All right, last eight points, Jordan, have all been scored by Luka.
Trying to make it 11 in a row.
He does just that.
11 Laker points in a row for the Don.
Heat check.
Luka Magic continued his sizzling hot streak
of 40-point games against the Kings with six
threes on 50% efficiency, none
more beautiful than this one.
That was phenomenal,
Doncic was the hero for LA once again but just a minute later he became
a hero for this ref as well.
He stood up for the lady
when a guy from the front row tossed the ball at her with full
strength.
Seconds later he was tossed out of the game.
Well done Luka, you're a true gentleman.
And remember this guy that was cut
from the Lakers roster instead of Bronny?
Well he made a splash in his debut for the Knicks.
That three-pointer would tie the Knicks record
for points in the first half.
Connects, steps back, he'll shoot, got it!
84 points in the first half!
It ties the Knicks franchise record!
Eye-popping efficiency to finish off that sweep
as Connect throws one up to Drummond
and a nice alley-oop layup.
Dalton made the top 10
in his first game in New York
with this put-back slam.
He had 10 points and 7 boards on 4 of 6 shooting
from the field in 16 minutes of action.
Not bad for a guy that's been completely written off.
And a lot of people wrote the Thunder off after all
those injuries but one man is still
standing.
Thunder could bust off the Schneider here in the third.
Great look for Shea. Mission accomplished.
The mantle of leadership for the Cavaliers
and a comeback cause. On the step back,
Julius Alexander, nothing but net.
Proctor? Yeah, I like his attitude. I like his demeanor.
Don't just Alexander.
Julius Alexander.
SGA was unguardable for a second straight game
for the Cavs in a wire-to-wire win in
Oklahoma.
The two-time MVP posted 42 points
and 8 assists to keep the Thunder among the West elite.
Even yesterday with no games on the schedule,
we were still working on heat checks so if
you haven't, check out
the video about Luka's vengeance right here in this one.
Talk to you in the next one,
peace out.
