This was as high as 10.
I'm seeing nine and a half now.
It might be the one team that I
am not worried about laying double digits with here.
Off a bye, at home.
Bosa looks like he's going to be back.
And Vegas, listen, Vegas throws some tight ends.
If you take the tight ends away.
Who are they throwing the ball to?
That's the problem because the 49ers
are the number one defense against tight ends in the NFL.
So something tells me it could be a long day for the Vegas Raiders.
Yeah, I mean, Trey Tucker's had a really nice year for the Raiders,
but a lot of it has been when they're down three touchdowns
and when they're down two touchdowns.
And so I don't know what Tucker's impact would be,
say, in the first half of that game.
McCaffrey limited practice today,
so he says he's good to go and he says he feels great.
We've heard this from McCaffrey before,
so we'll have to wait all the way through Sunday to wait for that one.
Evans seems iffy at best. He did not practice today.
Debo Samuel did not practice today,
so San Francisco is still with major issues at wide receiver.
Everyone seems to think that in the next few days,
four or five days, they acquire a wide receiver.
That does make some sense.
If any team does need a healthy wide receiver, it's definitely them.
For the Raiders, I do think they'll score some points in this game.
It seems like they score points in every game,
but the problem is that the last few weeks,
they've just been down so big and they've had to come back.
And score a bunch of points to win, except for, of course,
against the Jets where they had that lead there.
So I'd see an over maybe in this game.
And Raiders are a dangerous team to get that backdoor cover.
But if San Francisco's defense plays well, and they generally do,
and in fact the 49ers generally don't give up 30 points or more,
you could see the possibility of this happening.
The difference between this year
and last year, Joe, it is night and day.
Last year, this time of the year, the books were getting hammered.
Through week 8, 9, 10, 11.
And we were just waiting for the double-digit dogs to start fading.
It never happened.
The whole year, double-digit dogs was the best bet in the NFL.
It was like a 70% clip last year.
It was crazy.
This year, complete opposite.
I think 32 or 33%, somewhere along those lines.
That means almost 70% of the big dogs are covering.
That's generally the way it works in the NFL.
So anytime I see a dog like that,
My initial thought is to go with it.
The scary part is the game like tonight where
the home team is getting 10.
Like at that point, you got to think,
wow, this is a really bad team play.
But I tend to like those road nines and tens.
The home ones, though, scare me a little bit
because I'm just wondering, like, what makes a line that big?
This is going to be, I think there are some treacherous games
to say the least here coming up in week nine of the NFL.
You just got to tread carefully.
And what can we tell you?
We tell you all the time, a lot of uncertainty right now.
It feels like, and this is usually the kind
of conversations we have, Craig, by week 16.
Because you've got all sorts of teams
that have already packed it up and have moved on.
But we've got teams in uncharted territory
who are somewhat still in it,
but playing with guys that they have never seen before
and are handcuffed.
