So on Sunday in Philadelphia,
there is a really scary protest against Jewish businesses in the
Rittenhouse Square neighborhood.
But there's a few things here that make this especially
concerning. It is scheduled for the eve of...
Kristallnacht, which is a Nazi night of terror.
And the language also used in this protest post
has been really concerning.
These Zionist establishments must go
show these Zio business owners
that we see them for the disgusting humans they are.
And what's even more crazy about this
is that several of these businesses
are just owned by Jewish people.
We spoke to one business owner who runs a mac and cheese shop.
And she said the only reason she thinks she could possibly be targeted
is because she wears a Star of David necklace around her neck
when she works at her shop.
I was kind of like, why am I looped into this?
You know, I don't have an Israeli restaurant.
I haven't been targeted before.
I've never brought religion or politics into my business.
I've never judged any customer that's walked through my store.
You know, it's just misinformation and it's really unfortunate.
We don't deserve that. We go to work every day.
We're really good people.
We have really wonderful customers.
You go to work every day trying and like the world is hard enough.
And now it just seems you just have a bunch
of bullies down your back for no reason.
It's like if you actually got to know me
or if you actually knew the truth
about what you're posting about me.
We wouldn't be in this position.
The other chilling angle here is that the protest is set to take place
on the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht.
Kristallnacht is infamous for anyone
who sort of knows their Holocaust
Anti-Semitism history because that is basically
a Nazi terror campaign over two days, November 9 and 10, 1938,
when Nazi rioters sacked Jewish communities across Germany
and Austria.
And this very much was a coming out
of the anti-Semitic Nazi movement targeting Jews for
For being Jews, it led to thousands of Jewish business owners being
rounded up and taken into concentration camps, taken to prison.
And so all of these things combined has really made this protest
rise above the level of concern for a lot of Jewish business owners.
You know, at this point,
like they're using the night before a very big anniversary of a vote.
tragic event in Jewish history, in German history, in all history.
You know, it's a tragic
happening. And they are using words like they must go
and disgusting humans. And
This one just felt different.
The one upside here is that there seems to be a big note
of defiance in response to this protest.
All of the businesses that have been named said
that they are going to be open.
And there have been a lot of people
who've said we are going to line up.
And the New York Post will be there on Sunday
to tell you what happens during this really scary protest.
