Brunson cooking last night.
Brunson's going to cook on Law & Order tonight.
Don't bother me. I'll be locked in.
Brunson step back. Oh, another three for Jalen Brunson.
Three ball to start the game. And then he has been electric.
We're still going to be a resilient group,
no matter what's going on out there, no matter the ups
and downs of the season, especially early in the season.
We're going to come back and fight every single night.
That's just who we are.
Thanks very much, Detective Madison.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night on Law & Order SVU.
I mean, how great is that?
The King of New York is back, as if there was any doubt.
Remember the Knicks 0-3 start?
I don't remember.
Remember Jalen Brunson struggling to find
his rhythm at the beginning of the campaign?
No, not in any way, shape, or form.
Orange and blue tsunami, baby.
Are you kidding me?
Let me tell you something.
When you take a look at what the Knicks were able to do last night,
this game was over before your derriere hit the seat on the couch.
And you'll be on the couch tonight
watching Jalen Brunson on Law & Order.
And it feels like for the Knicks in 2026, 2027,
after all the Knicks in five, euphoria in the offseason,
He's in law.
And order has been restored with the Knicks cooking.
Did you see Jalen Brunson last night?
My goodness.
The best bet of the century was Brunson over
for his prop with points last night at 25 and a half.
I mean, this was unbelievable.
33 points, 22 in the first quarter.
A vintage.
Brunson burner. Absolutely incredible.
84-52 at halftime last night. And you watched Brunson
and you saw him early on. I mean, my goodness.
You want to talk about that rarefied air when
you're an athlete as unbelievable as Brunson.
When you're in that zone where you can't miss,
when your eyes are like saucers, when
you just know everything you do,
the step to the hole, the way he was shooting from
the outside, the dribble drive penetration,
his courts, his moment, his time to shine
as if there was any doubt.
And look, we'll get to the Sixers,
we'll get into other great stories in the NBA, we'll
We'll get into teams that are piping hot to start the campaign.
You still have to beat the Knicks.
The Knicks are still the champs.
And they still have what it takes to win a championship again
because they have Jalen Brunson as the king of New York.
OG was great last night.
Cat was great last night.
And I want to mention Dalton Connect was phenomenal as well.
And I know that it was garbage time late in this game,
but let's connect the dots here.
Look at the numbers for Dalton Connect.
And I feel compelled to go back on something.
I love this guy in Tennessee, in college.
I thought the Lakers stole him in the draft.
He was absolutely dominant when the Lakers drafted him.
And then they put him in the failed Mark Williams trade,
and it was a done deal,
and the Lakers flunked Mark Williams on his physical,
which they should have never done.
He passed it everywhere else.
Connect had to go back.
He was never the same.
He couldn't believe he was traded.
He couldn't believe he was losing time to Bronny.
He was involved in all the politics.
And he was never the same since that moment.
And last year was just a waste.
He was completely ruined based upon the failed trade
at the trade deadline the year before.
So I want to get in front of this.
I think Dalton Connect has a ton of talent.
I think Dalton Connect is going to end up playing
legit, meaningful minutes for the Knicks.
And listen, if they have players,
Mikal Bridges, who are struggling when it comes to offense,
I really think Dalton Connect can play.
And when you saw Leon Rose bring him in,
we made a big deal about this on Shine Time.
That's one of those players where I firmly believe,
go back to college.
Go back to who he was before everything that transpired
when they put him inexplicably in that trade
and they shipped him out and then had to bring him back
and then they had to deal with all the Bronny nonsense.
I think the Knicks had an absolute steal signing Dalton Knecht.
Listen, I feel like everything is now right in the universe.
Brunson cooking last night.
Brunson's going to cook on Law & Order tonight.
Don't bother me. I'll be locked in.
You know that him and Mariska Hargitay have
an unbelievable relationship.
This is his dream. He used to watch Law & Order.
You know, growing up as a kid, it was Rick Brunson's favorite show.
This is going to be must-see TV tonight.
And it's just another example of the Nixon Five Eyes.
And on the heels of Brunson doing it again...
Man, it just feels like everything is right in the basketball
and the New York sports universe once again.
To the Rival Sixers, where LeBron James is having more
and more fun with each Philly win.
Anything like that since he's been here?
No, he hasn't surprised me.
How are you so far?
That's my man.
I don't even know what that is.
I'm sorry.
I missed 60,000 field goals.
Oh, I see.
I forgot the question.
We got a good team.
Guys vibe with one another, guys like each other,
guys enjoy being around each other,
so it has a lot to do with it too.
It makes the game a lot easier when you enjoy being around.
Sixers are legit. Sixers are going to get the one seed.
Sixers have a fun quotient, a likable quotient.
Last night, it was Jalen Brown. He pumped in a season-high 30.
Joel Embiid was remarkable. LeBron was distributing.
Tyrese Maxey didn't even have a good night shooting the basketball,
and it didn't matter.
You saw the Philadelphia 76ers spread the ball around,
share the basketball, great team chemistry, great domination.
Phenomenal. Road win.
Going up against the Detroit Pistons in Detroit.
That was absolutely
incredible. And you look at the Eastern Conference standings
and you see Philly at the top. You look
at the NBA standings and you see Philly at the top.
And remember my preseason pick,
and I'm going to stay with it, right?
I mean, you know, we haven't even hit Thanksgiving yet.
But, we said Philly gets the one seed,
Detroit gets the two seed, Knicks get the three seed.
And this Philly team, they've got everything going on in the right way.
They're playing the game the right way.
If I didn't hate them, I would love them.
And when you see Joel Embiid joking around
and putting up those kind of numbers,
you know, every single night, you know, it's a different...
He's a hero and a different leader for this team.
Last night was Brown.
It's usually Maxey, LeBron.
He doesn't even care about points.
He's distributing.
He's drinking wine.
He's having fun.
He's yucking up with Embiid.
Listen, they share the brotherly love.
And once again, the Sixers kick ass and take names.
To the left coast, where Wemby looked like Wilt last night.
Are you kidding me?
Victor Wembanyama, 52 points, 24 rebounds.
Wemby is a freak.
Seven days a week!
I mean, look at this stat line!
First player with 50-plus points, 20-plus rebounds,
five-plus blocks in a game since Bob McAdoo in 74!
That's before I was born!
Career high last night in points, career high in rebounds.
I, when watching the game, I can't even believe he missed any shots.
He had eight blocks, he had two steals.
I mean, he did everything.
It was ridiculously amazing.
It was a fun game to watch on ESPN, on national TV last night.
Great game, competitive game.
You know, Cooper Flagg going up against Wemby.
Kyrie Irving was great last night.
Came down to the wire.
Spurs able to win.
And listen.
I don't like Wemby.
I don't like Wemby based upon last year.
I don't like Wemby's attitude.
I don't like Wemby against the Knicks.
I, you know, watching him post-game last night,
I could have scored 60 if I wanted to.
Get the hell out of here.
But you got to give him respect.
You got to give him credit.
This is one of those ultimate, unbelievable,
OMG, wow, freak show kind of games
where the ambiance was great,
the crowd's going nuts.
Real hate between these teams,
and there's a galaxy of great players, great coaches in
a game like this, and man,
Wemby was head and shoulders above everyone else.
And on a night where you had all
these great NBA players doing unbelievable things, Jokic
was unbelievable, SGA was unbelievable,
we'll get into Luka Doncic in a second, Jalen Brown,
Jalen Brunson, as we mentioned,
Victor Wembanyama on a great night in the association stole
the show.
I can't stand this guy.
I just think that he's a bit of a punk.
He's a villain.
His likability from last year, the OKC series,
the Knicks series, it's in the toilet.
But I have to acknowledge what's going on with Wemby.
And also with the Spurs, and remember before the season,
we said OKC, San Antonio, Minnesota
Lakers, four best teams, my opinion, in the Western Conference.
And OKC, even though they're winning,
you've got to throw everything out the window with
the J-Dub injury, and that cost OKC
in the playoffs last year in the Western Conference
Finals against San Antonio.
So listen, I might not like Wemby.
But clearly, he is driving the bus on a team
that has real championship aspirations.
Victor Wembanyama, certified freak, seven days a week.
That was one for the ages
with a Wilt Chamberlain performance last night.
To the Lakers.
And at this point, if Luka Doncic is playing in a basketball game,
Luka Doncic is scoring 40.
All right, last eight points, Jordan,
have all been scored by Luka,
He does just...
Are you
kidding me?
And I said Luka Doncic was the MVP,
would be the MVP of the NBA before the season.
And I love the Lakers offseason, how they built the team around Luka.
I thought Luka was going to have the best year of his life.
And with all that as a backdrop, he's even outkicking my expectations.
I mean, three guarantees in life, death taxes, and Luka scores 40.
This guy is unbelievable.
40 points, nine rebounds, seven assists.
How about this nugget of domination?
Six straight game with 35 or more points.
He has 308 total points scored this season.
And the Lakers are winning!
And this is exactly what we talked about before the season
and why we loved everything that Rob Palenka did in the offseason.
I have to tell you.
There's no player who's been better, more dominant,
more valuable this season than Luka Doncic.
And I know he's got a lot of haters out there,
a lot of critics, a lot of the media elite.
They don't like how he whines and cries
and flops and the officiating nonsense.
Luka Doncic is an unstoppable force.
He is a bucket getter.
His ball, his court, his game, and he pumps in 35 plus.
And the Lakers are terrific.
And I love them more than anyone else.
I got all your YouTube comments, all your comments on X,
all your comments on Instagram, you know,
ripping me for believing that Luka Doncic and the Lakers
will be better this year than last year.
I was right.
You were wrong.
The Lakers are unbelievable
because Luka Doncic is on a different level,
an MVP level, when you watch him play night in and night out.
Moving forward, we'll go with Gardner as our starter.
We talked to all three quarterbacks.
Carson will be our backup.
Carson Beck? Gardner Minshew?
QB, you're QB.
It's a wild time.
We're headed to week nine.
Starts tonight in the NFL.
Drew Locke is starting.
Joe Milton is starting.
Carson Wentz is starting.
Shedeur Sanders in line to start.
What the hell is going on here?
Let's start in Seattle where Drew Locke is the starter.
Unless Drew Locke is hurt,
then we're looking at former Alabama quarterback
Jalen Milrow under center.
So Sam Darnold has had a very poor season.
And no one loves Sam Darnold more than me.
No one praises Sam Darnold.
No one has believed in Sam Darnold more than me.
See these hands right here?
I built the Sam Darnold bandwagon with my bare hands.
From USC to the Jets to Carolina.
To San Francisco, to Minnesota, to Seattle.
And Sam Darnold is going to have
an unbelievable second season in Seattle
after winning a championship last year.
Then he got hurt in the New England game.
And we beg Mike McDonald, do not bring him back.
We said it on Shine Time.
Don't rush him back.
Don't want to see him in September.
They brought him back for the Washington game.
He's been a mess ever since.
You look at it, since he returned week three,
he has nine interceptions.
He's got a one-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio.
And honestly, that's not good.
They have a new play caller.
He's not good.
The running backs have been banged up.
No one has gotten into a rhythm.
O-line hasn't played well.
No one has helped out J.S. at the wide receiver position.
And now we have a spot where Sam Darnold is hurt.
And you have...
A couple of injuries for Sam Darnold,
and it's ridiculously problematic.
And Drew Locke is Drew Locke, and this is not great.
So if you're a fan here of the Seattle Seahawks,
listen, I know we have the All-22 video here for you.
Drew Locke being solid in week number one against
the New England Patriots, but I mean
He stole Drew Locke.
And the expectation and the anticipation
is he's going to win against Arizona.
But that's not a lock for Drew Locke.
And then you have, you know, a game coming up with the Raiders.
And that's not a lock.
Now, flip side, if Drew Locke plays well,
and I can't believe I'm saying this.
You know, maybe you got to ride the hot hands.
And I live for Sam Darnold.
And again, these hands created the bandwagon.
And, you know, now you got a cracked rib.
You got a quad.
I mean, this is a mess.
This is a mess for Sam Darnold.
I feel terrible for Sam Darnold.
And I really think at the end of the day,
the Seahawks are on the brink.
And the champs are 4-4.
And, you know, Arizona's been plucky all year coming off
that comeback against Dallas.
They beat the Rams earlier this season.
They beat the Chargers when no one knew what
that was ultimately going to be in week number one.
They are really well coached now.
Seattle's defense is fantastic.
You have to imagine they're salty after
getting exposed by Caleb Williams.
So to answer the question, is Drew Locke ready to win?
Probably not.
It also probably doesn't matter.
They should be able to win this game with Locke being okay,
as long as he remembers to get the ball to Jackson Smith and Jigba,
who is an unstoppable force right about now.
But this just...
It underscores my point all week,
and over the last four weeks of the season,
I don't think the champs are locked to get back to the playoffs.
And I will say, I kind of took the cheese a little bit,
and I was off that take
after they just pummeled Kansas City.
I hold myself accountable for what I say, but that was a mess.
And this with Darnold now adds injury
to insult based upon what happened on Monday night.
So, look.
I am very disappointed,
very disappointed in the Seahawks' first half of the season,
and this is alarming here,
and I am fascinated to see how it unfolds for the champs.
We move to Cleveland, where Shador Sanders is getting the starts
for the Browns and letting everyone know
how he's all grown up and ready to go.
Yes.
Um, yeah, I've seen a lot.
When I smile, you just know that means something.
I'm maturing, you know what I'm saying? I'm maturing.
Like, I could have gave that, you know, a decent answer,
but now I'm just going to smile whenever it's just,
like, some questions, you know.
Listen, I thought Shador should have started the season.
That take, you know, I still stand by.
Obviously, Deshaun Watson has played well,
and he's been tough, and he's been clutch.
And then he got sacked a bunch of times,
hit a bunch of times, reported concussion symptoms.
He's in concussion protocol, and here's Shador Sanders.
I didn't like that answer.
I thought that was kind of immature.
Just talk.
Seriously, you're capable.
Just talk.
Talk. Act like the CEO of a team.
That's part of the job here of a quarterback.
I don't care if you're a backup quarterback.
Just act like a CEO.
By the way, I think Shador Sanders is going to take this spot personally
because he's facing New Orleans in New Orleans
and the Saints passed on him in the draft
and drafted Tyler Shuck over him.
Turned out to be the right move.
I know the Browns are 5-3.
Brown's defense is still legit and Sanders was okay last year
as a rookie and he has a great rapport with Harold Fannin.
He's never in a real NFL game this year thrown
to the rookies Concepcion and to Boston at the wide receiver position.
I think the Saints are going to win this game.
We have a second before Football Friday.
We make all our picks, but I'll tell you
my lean right now in New Orleans is favored by
one and a half.
As we speak on a Thursday,
I think the Saints are going to go marching to a victory.
Eagles quarterback room is in shambles
as they head into a rivalry matchup with the
Giants on Sunday.
But the Giants' starting quarterback has
a scouting report on one of Philly's options.
Here's J.J. McCarthy.
What do you remember about Joe Milton,
going back to when you went to Michigan?
Joe Milton, I love that guy.
Definitely super proud of him for this opportunity.
You know, he's got a big arm, obviously uber talented, could run.
But at the end of the day, you know, it's about us.
And, you know, I'm really excited to see
our defense go out there in that environment.
You know, when the crowd
Crowd noise isn't as loud and them having,
you know, full optimal communication out there.
And, yeah, we're just, you know, I love them.
But this weekend, it's go time.
Oh, it's go time.
And Joe Milton's getting the nod.
I mean, listen, I do think Philadelphia is making the right call here
because Jay Millie has a ton of talent.
Tanner McKee is Tanner McKee.
And I think that Joe Milton, in a lot of ways, is the...
Hail Mary, literally, figuratively, like it's the YOLO, why not?
Joe Milton has a lot of talent, you know,
there is an old tale that, you know, when
they drafted him a couple years ago in the draft in New England.
They had to trade him because he has so much talent.
He was outplaying, outperforming Drake May in practice.
So they traded him in the offseason, and he's so raw,
and he goes to Dallas and had a cup
of coffee there and dazzled everyone.
They also cut him because something,
he has not been able to put it fully together.
But, and the Giants know this,
he's a lightning-in-a-bottle kind of quarterback.
Like, he can roll out, he can make plays,
he can get the ball downfield,
he can do something in terms of, you know,
being able to run for a first down.
So you got to be cognizant of the big play ability of Joe Milton.
That's a real sentence.
Joe Milton can get it done in a related story.
Giants are going to smash the Philadelphia Eagles, and I think
this will be the nail in the coffin for the Eagles this season.
And then, Monday and Tuesday,
Howie Roseman is going to shop until he drops and trade everyone.
First time, Howie's going to be selling at the deadline, and honestly,
if I'm an Eagles fan, knowing you're not going anywhere this year,
I'm kind of energized by that.
What's your message to those guys?
I mean, it's no disrespect, but that ---- has nothing to do with us.
We're a defense.
At the end of the day, you need to go out there
and play how you want to be remembered.
And you've got to play with a certain passion, which I thought we did.
Obviously, not what we want on the scoreboard,
but there's a passion factor that you need when you're out there.
And I thought guys look into each other's eyes and play passionately.
Hamilton, star for the Baltimore Ravens in their defensive backfield,
is not worried about the no-name quarterback depth chart.
This is a real quarterback depth chart for a ballgame tonight.
And Lamar Jackson is obviously out.
Newt Huntley is out.
They acquired Jacoby Brissett,
but he's not going to officially be a Raven until the weekend.
Joe Figliano.
Keaton Slovis.
Austin Reed.
These are real human beings playing quarterback
in an NFL game on Thursday Night Football
against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That'll do it for our coverage
of the Ravens quarterback room tonight, because Jacoby
Brissett coming in is at least noteworthy to me,
because making the playoffs for the
Ravens, and I think they're dead.
Let me just say that for the record.
And I think the teams that are already
in the AFC playoffs, we did this on the show
yesterday, I think the playoff picture is set.
The only question is where they're going to be seated.
Jacoby Brissett, though, is,
and we talked about this yesterday, we nailed it on Monday
when they said the Ravens are going to trade for Jacoby Brissett,
he's a super smart quarterback.
And he can play in any system.
And after the Thursday night game, there's a bye.
Then the schedule is soft.
Baltimore is plus 460 to make the playoffs.
And if you believe in Jacoby Brissett, and, you know, this is a guy
who obviously was great, you know, after Andrew Luck retired.
And Parcells loved him.
And, you know, Belichick loved him.
And he was hot with the Cardinals last year.
You know, you look at the Baltimore Ravens,
and they're going to be 4-5 after they lose tonight.
And at the end of the day, their schedule,
they have the bye, then the Chargers, then
at Carolina, then the Texans, and then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Listen, they can at least in some way,
shape, or form fake some kind of contention.
So I don't think they will make the playoffs,
but after watching Joe Figueroa tonight and
listening to Kyle Hamilton curse when asked about the quarterbacks.
Yeah, Jacoby Brissett, a pro's pro,
is going to be a breath of fresh air.
We have some major news for the Minnesota Vikings.
Adam Schefter broke the story.
Carson Wentz is going to get the start
for the Minnesota Vikings at the quarterback position
on Monday Night Football in the huge battle
with the 6-1 Minnesota Vikings,
hosting Josh Allen and the 6-1 Buffalo Bills.
And this is monster news.
And it also underscores...
Just how the Minnesota Vikings, for a couple of years,
have screwed up the quarterback position.
The most important position in sports.
They drafted J.J. McCarthy. He got hurt.
Here's Sam Darnold. Has an unbelievable year.
They foolishly let him go in free agency.
They had Daniel Jones, and he was going to be the next Sam Darnold.
He was going to be the guy. He signs in Indianapolis.
Aaron Rodgers wanted to go to Minnesota.
Like, no, we have J.J. McCarthy.
That didn't work out.
They traded for Sam Howell.
That was a disaster.
Never even made it to the active roster in week one.
They grabbed Carson Wentz off his couch eating potato chips last year,
and he starts playing for them when McCarthy was dreadful.
They bring in Kyler Murray.
They do a quarterback competition with J.J. McCarthy.
They not only hate J.J. McCarthy so much, he's not the backup anymore.
He's third string, and then he's traded to the Giants,
where he's fantastic, back to
being the Michigan version.
So Kyler Murray has arguably been, objectively,
the single worst starting quarterback in the
NFL this year, and if he had, if he was decent,
and I watched that whole game, they would
have beat the Lions last week, but he's awful, so that was a problem.
Now he has bad hamstring.
So here's Carson Wentz.
I mean, this whole thing is just wild.
And yeah, I love Kevin O'Connell, their head coach.
But when you see McCarthy doing what he's doing for the Giants,
and you're 6-1, you have a Super Bowl championship defense,
and Justin Jefferson doesn't want to talk to the press
because he's going to say something that he's going to regret,
and you're trotting out the corpse
of Carson Wentz on Monday Night Football
where you have to outscore Josh Allen?
And I love the brass.
I love Kevin O'Connell.
I love Brian Flores.
I love the Minnesota Vikings.
I picked them to make the playoffs.
How the hell are they going to win this game with Carson Wentz?
Sad.
And remember, before the season,
I picked the Bills to win a championship.
When I did their schedule, and I had them at 13-4,
this was one of the games I circled in the loss column.
I didn't think they'd win.
What a mess. What an absolute debacle.
Now, Daniel Jones, I believe, is going to be available via trade.
And I think that when you look at it,
Daniel Jones, at the end of the day,
makes sense to go back to the Minnesota Vikings.
Here's Jones.
Yeah, I mean, I think just, you know,
realizing when you are distracted,
when something comes up and getting back to what we've got at hand.
We've got a lot of work to do and plenty to do here to focus on,
you know, letting your mind go other places is not,
you know, not helpful for us.
There is a case, the only quarterback this year
who's been worse than Kyler Murray is Daniel Jones, okay?
Daniel Jones knows the offense.
Daniel Jones, when he's right, is great.
I'll put that in air quotes.
I've never been a Daniel Jones fan in Kevin O'Connell's offense.
So while the Vikings are burning up the phones talking
to Indianapolis about Jonathan Taylor,
and I still think Jonathan Taylor
is going to get traded early next week,
and I still think he's going to either the Vikings
or the New York football Giants.
The Vikings need to call the Colts and make sure they get Daniel Jones.
You know it's a desperate situation
What I'm saying you must get Daniel Jones.
Kevin O'Connell loved Daniel Jones.
He was on my SiriusXM radio show.
This is when he won coach of the year,
the year that Darnold was unbelievable,
the year in Minnesota.
And he said he felt the same way about Daniel Jones
in moment then.
Remember, the Vikings picked him up
after the Giants rightfully cut him,
as he felt about Sam Darnold when he brought him in.
Then they foolishly let Daniel Jones go.
Not his fault.
That was the GM who then got fired.
We all know the deal.
I know Daniel Jones coming off the injury hasn't looked great.
Have you seen Kyler Murray?
Have you seen Carson Wentz?
You know that this is officially desperate times called
for desperate measures.
But the Minnesota Vikings are a 6-1 team.
The Minnesota Vikings have a championship defense.
The Chicago Bears are going to end up winning the division.
And we have said that consistently.
This is not an overreaction.
They need someone who's going to give them a chance in these games.
I can't believe I'm saying it, but they must trade for Daniel Jones.
Fast forward.
You got it.
Shines, lines.
Had my worst week of the season last week.
Six and eight.
I'm still not over the bad beats with the Chiefs
and the Patriots, but we move on.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are laying 10 tonight,
going up against the Baltimore Ravens.
Jacksonville is going to murder the Baltimore Ravens.
I think you're going to see Jacksonville win this game 33-3.
I think the only question is,
how are the Ravens even going to get three?
Jacksonville handled business against Indianapolis.
They're trading everybody.
And remember, the Jaguars, smaller markets,
they get very sensitive about getting their due.
We told America and Canada yesterday on Shine Time
that the Jags are absolutely a top-four team
most likely to win the Super Bowl this year.
It's a primetime game, nationally televised game.
Al Michaels on the call.
I think Jacksonville and Trevor Lawrence are going
to treat Baltimore like their personal playground.
We'll lay the 10 with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That's the show.
If you miss any portion of the show, just do what I do.
Rewatch the show over and over and over again.
