The Derek Hough 'Dancing with the Stars' Controversy! Did He Cross The Line? | Billy Bush

We're following it. It's happening. We thought possibly Julia Stiles could extend her run on Dancing with the Stars because of that emotional tribute night to Heath Ledger. But it doesn't look like it happened. And with that, we bring in a Hot Mic's news alert. Dancing expert Lauren Mincer-Clark. She just loves Dancing with the Stars. Bye-bye, Julia. Bye-bye. It was such a bummer. I mean, here's the thing. It was Disney night. It was really exciting. Obviously, she's had a great story, but also she's been hurt. She had a hurt rib. She's been going through it, you know, and so people are, I'm not going to lie, they're a little bit upset. She's had some harsh judgment, I feel like, you know, every night. She also had a little bit of support because she danced to Hamilton. So Lin-Manuel Miranda actually had shouted her out and said he's not usually a fan of watching the show, but he's watching and cheering her on. Sadly, it didn't really have the Jennifer Lawrence effect, though, I guess. There's Julia Stiles and her partner. Ezra, who is honestly, he's also a fan favorite. People just love him so much. He's so lovable. And he was so wonderful for her. And she just, again, she had such a great story. And people were really excited about her. So, but even Lin posted today, you're still my forever champion. So I think that, I will say, I saw a lot of comments, people saying, I'm out because of Julia's out. You know, people started really caring about her. Um, She went as far as she can go, right? We're down to some very serious dancing. We're down to some really good dancing. Like, really good dancing. All right, so, Buh bye Julia Stiles. Two words, Buh and Bye. Also, Buh bye Carrie Ann Gate. And hello, Huffgate. What did my extra television successor... Derek Hough, dude, he got in trouble. I thought he was such a good boy. He, you know, and he is, and maybe it's not, but it is. So here's the thing. A couple of days ago, he did an interview with TV Insider and, you know, obviously they ask his opinion and they ask, we're riding on the high of Connor Wood and all of that news from last week. And so they kind of ask him about Connor, him and Connor are also friends. And so he, but here's the problem. He kind of says he's going to be in, I think he's going to be in the finals and shouts him out. We have a clip of it. You tell me what you think. Okay. I believe he'll be in the final. There's a glow around them, the two of them. I think they're such a great partnership. Obviously, he did Samba the other week, and Samba's a hard dance, the hardest dance on the show. There's more requirements in that show, technically, than like a salsa or a jazz or things like that. People love him. I love him. That's not good. You're a judge. You endorsed, uh, Connor. He's your friend. You expect him to see in the finals. You might have swayed the vote there. Yeah. You know, and so that's where, you know, people had a little bit of an issue with that. So listen, it obviously, and here's the thing in a, in a big night and a lot of things that happened, Connor's story was kind of under the radar. So, but that kind of flew, but that was kind of pushed it a little bit to some people Carrie Anne loved it. Carrie Anne loved it. The more we can move on from Carrie Anne Gate. All right, Huff. I think Huff made a mistake there. I'm going to say it, but you know all is forgiven. He's such a sweet and lovable guy. But speaking of, yes. Val Chmerkovskiy. Now, the winner of Carrie Mary Ann Gate is Val Chmerkovskiy and in part because. Carrie-Anne didn't lose as badly as she could have in all of this. He showed mercy. She went for him. He survived it beautifully. He elevated himself as she was coming after him and did not wallow in. He was seen hugging her. And giving her a let's just all's good move on, High Road Val. How did he do last night on the dance floor with the fiercely hot Jenna Dewan? They were so fantastic. So they did Beauty and the Beast. And so, but here's the, you're going to love it. Look, Val's hair even played well into the beast of it all. Oh, he let it out of the man bun. Oh yes, it all, it all came out as part of his mane. It was actually really fun. Fantastic. They were a lot of fun to watch. Tale as old as time, strong as it can be. By the way, that is also going to be a part. The songs are also a huge part of, you know, sometimes when you get a fit, like they had such a great song. So, cause everyone knows Beauty and the Beast. So that really also helps with the energy and the dance. Julia, you know, it's just a little bit, not as many people knew Hamilton as much. There was just a little bit lower. We're also more of. Because she did Peter Pan. I didn't even know what the song was. She was in the bottom of the dancing with Julia. And a lot of people are saying, it's just a song choice says a lot. Song choice? Speaking of song choice, that says a lot. Yes. What's the song from Peter Pan? I actually couldn't even tell you what it was. They just had to tell you it's from Peter? I know. I mean, she was beautiful and they did a great job. But the energy was so low because... I didn't even know the song, but you know what song you did know? Mary Poppins, which your guy Harry danced to. Look at Airborne Harry. Oh, my God. Not a lift. Not a lift. He is absolutely, wow, he's way up in the sky right there. So he did Mary Poppins. They're saying there's lots of chit-chatter about Harry Shum going to Broadway. I mean. Well, look at this. This was legitimately, like, what you're looking at was an example. He truly, it was a Broadway performance. If I've ever seen one, it was fun. He was fantastic. And so like, this is what everyone is talking about. So last season you had Whitney from the Mormon wives after her performance, everyone was like, she's going to be on Chicago. Poof. Literally it happened. This is kind of what everyone's now manifesting for Harry. And I'm not going to lie, fully supported. It was a lot of fun. Harry and Jenna were amazing. My cousin Jimmy was Mr. T for like three years. No blackface, but all the other attire he loved. Okay, someone's talking about Halloween costumes. Look at the toe touch. Yeah, that is beautiful. Oh, and they got immunity for next week. So next week, that's because of this performance. They did so fantastic. They got another perfect score. They have immunity for next week, which is Grammy night. Wow. Um, here's a good comment. Man buns are the worst. I love Val. He's such a nice guy. He is. And I love, and Val Chmerkovskiy's a nice guy. I don't, and Derek Hough, I think has had one at one, but I don't know. Yes. But here's the thing. Some people can, I can, I actually, there's like Val can, I don't, it works for him. But I also would argue that many most I can't, but like Val, I don't know. Well, I'll tell you this. A man bun is always comes with a great physique. Like a guy that can wear a tank top and has great muscles tends to have a man bun. You don't see a fat, sloppy guy wearing a man bun. You know what I mean? I think it's reserved. It's one or the other. Yeah. In shape, people. People. Okay, Harry, I think, here's my prediction, and I'm not a judge on Dancing with the Stars, but I think Jenna is going to square off with Harry Shum. There's a third person that's amazing that they say will be in there, but I think it's Harry, because with Jenna, you get Val, and Val's a big star. I'm saying that. I'm saying it. I like it. I like it. Buns are aggressive, be my valentine.
