The Sixers NEED to Get this Done...
Nov 4, 2026
The Sixers absolutely need to go get this done.
Game two of our season series against
the Detroit Pistons coming up tonight.
It's a game for number one slot in the Eastern Conference.
As you guys love to always hear me say,
this is the biggest game of the season!
Comma or in parentheses, at least as of right now.
Now, I'm not saying that this is the biggest game of the season,
but we need to get this done.
We need to go get a dub.
Obviously, it's great to say that we need to move to 8-1.
It's great to say that we need to retain
the number one slot in the East.
But more than anything, I think we need to get this one done
just to get the monkey off our back of that loss to Detroit
and not let them have any sort of confidence
that Detroit is capable of beating us in any other capacity
than without our stars playing.
What's going on, everybody?
Christian Pedersen back with another episode of Sixers Digest.
the show that's hoping you guys all had a great night
and woke up confident that the 76ers are about to go out
and get it done tonight as they, like I said,
taking on the Detroit Pistons game two of the series.
Curious where you guys have this one, because obviously with us.
We're missing VJ last time, no MP, like,
we just didn't have our team out there, and we didn't look very good,
and the result was not a very good game,
and it was on part two of a back-to-back, and I don't want
to keep throwing out continuous extenuating circumstance,
but right now, it certainly feels like this one is, um,
Almost a different world than the other game of our matchup.
For this one, it is, of course,
going again to be Maxi versus Cade and them boys.
Getting after it a little bit, Tyrese Maxey,
the numbers for him, we have covered ad nauseum this season.
He is, I show all these graphics on DigestSports.com,
you can go check them out.
The green is good, that means that he is up in the lead for all of the,
you know, in the positive zones.
He is our, like,
machine that makes this all go,
but I will be curious if this is possibly an opportunity
for us to get Embiid more involved.
Embiid is somebody who changed the game inside. And
apologies for leaving my ugly mug over the corner of that graphic,
but I want to see if we can't
get Embiid out there in a significant enough fashion tonight
that really they've got good
They out-rebounded us by a zillion last time.
I've said it over and over.
The key to me is keeping the rebounding within 10.
I would like to put it to you guys.
Here's my challenge.
Let's use Embiid inside.
Not every single game do we need to have that man
go to absolute war in the center position.
I like him trying to find his feel on the perimeter.
I like him trying to be a little bit less selfish
and load manage a little bit.
But I also think that there are going
to be times where he does need to flex it a little bit
and get in there and clean up those boards
and get aggressive and be a generational big man sometimes.
And so I'm putting it to him to go put the work to him tonight.
Now, if you go over and check the Calshi odds, and as always,
we say thank you to Calshi for sponsoring this channel.
We are still one of the favorites to win the NBA championship.
We are still.
Um, though struggling to like, they have Detroit favored in this one.
And that is the first time that I have seen that in a game this season.
So, so as we say, even though with that bad news,
thank you very much to Cal
shi for sponsoring this channel.
And if you want to use the code digest NBA,
when you are signing up, they'll
hook you up with $55 when you trade your first $25 in options.
But like I was saying, I think that Embiid has to get in the key.
Throw it back a little bit
to the last couple of previous years
where he's been the driving force.
And I know that we've talked a lot about
how the supporting cast and Maxey...
Like, last time, there was no VJ.
Yeah.
Last time...
You know, the no on a couple of different guys, I think,
did have a certain amount of trickle down that just like we
were just not in a situation to go out there
and necessarily get it done in any capacity.
We're going to have those. This isn't one of those nights, though.
This is we had a night off to rest.
We had an unserious game against the Bulls where in the second half.
Bench was able to get in.
So this is as close to having a couple of nights off
when we are going to be playing a key game.
So dare I say, this is going to be the core starting five
with 30 plus minutes each.
But like, I'm okay with us leaning on that sometimes.
I know that we're still way early in the season
and some of you guys will get in the comment section
and be like...
No, we're going to blow people out.
We're going to blow out knees.
We're going to exhaust people.
We're going to overuse them.
I think, though, that's kind of the setup sometimes.
You got like...
I hear myself when I'm like saying that this is a must win game
and that's hyperbolic YouTube BS.
But at the same time, this is a we need to not let, like I said,
the Pistons have any sort of concept of confidence against us.
We need to come back and counter that.
But also we need to have our own ability to correct
and overcome previous.
I don't even want to say mistakes because, like I said,
different whole total roster vibes,
but we need to get out there and play our best game.
I'm saying need, need, need.
I should probably be saying just want, want, want,
but I want, want, want, want Jalen Brown to get involved in attack.
I want Edgecombe to be the defensive and then the bench pressure.
Anfernee Simons, keep bringing it.
How quickly do we go to Dean Wade
and what kind of defensive minutes does he end up getting?
If this is something where Dean Wade is needed
to be a little bit more in there and get Dean Wade,
I don't know if you want to say sacrifice some offense
and pull out a Jalen Brown.
Or a VJ to get Dean and Embiid in there to shut them down.
Obviously, that's going to be a flow thing
that Nick Nurse has to control
and be more into.
But I just, I want to, I keep talking circular here,
but I want to get after boards, get after the defensive side.
I want to make a statement in certain categories.
I think I should say that instead of just saying we need to win,
we need to make certain.
Statistical, categorical statements tonight
that we have the ability to,
when we have our starting five
and our full bench at its disposal
of everybody other than Dom Barlow
is able to be in there.
But really, we're honestly only going to be
dipping in to probably Simons, KCP
and Dean Wade with like a little team.
I bet Adem Bona's out there
for three and a half minutes
or Jabari Walker or something like that
just to give him a chance to get a breather.
I want to see us make as intentional of a play
for the paint and interior presence
as we humanly can on this game.
And if that means that the rest of the week suffers
and we take a fatigue loss after this one,
I'm actually okay.
I'm not going to say that I'm okay with that,
but I'm okay with that if that means
that we got this dub done
because this one's a battle for me.
So that's what I got for you tonight.
Let me know what you think about the game upcoming
And as always, we'll be back.
We'll be back post-game with over, under,
and everything else reaction-wise.
Until then, have a great rest of your day, and as always, go Sixers!
