They were two peas in a pod.
When Jenny hiked, she was right there beside her.
48-year-old Jennifer Balcaris and her 20-year-old daughter,
Sailor Reed, went for a walk just minutes from their home
in Bella Coola on Saturday.
They never returned home, and the pair is now believed
to be the victims of a grizzly bear attack.
They have confirmed the remains of our sister, Jenny,
and at this point in time,
it's not believed that Sailor
has survived either.
Bella Coola is a small community on B.C.'s central coast,
about 11 hours from Vancouver.
RCMP and search and rescue teams located Balcaris' remains on Monday.
The search for Reed continues.
There was evidence to suggest a bear may have been involved.
The public has urged to avoid
the Snooka West Trail area until further notice due to the danger.
The family says the area where the pair
were hiking was not remote, making the tragedy...
Even harder to understand.
Both Jenny and Selah were vibrant and full of life.
They hadn't been in this community long.
They were living.
It's unthinkable.
The BC Conservation Officer Service
says efforts to trap the bear, or bears, are ongoing.
