There are further delays in the case
of a woman accused of sexually assaulting a youth
at a southeast New Brunswick summer camp this summer.
Jennifer Abbott is accused of sexually assaulting
a youth under the age of 16
at Camp Tawasi, a summer camp
in Johnston Point in southeast New Brunswick.
A publication ban prevents the publication of the victim's identity.
46-year-old Abbott was supposed to enter
a plea early last month in Moncton Provincial Court,
but her lawyer hadn't received the disclosure yet.
The matter was delayed until this month.
But on Wednesday, her lawyer asked for more time again,
saying he just received disclosure this week.
There is also a new charge in this case.
Last month, the Crown informed the court
that a new charge had been laid.
Abbott now faces four charges total, including sexual assault,
sexual touching, exposing herself to the victim,
and touching the victim with an object for a sexual purpose.
All of the charges are alleged
to have taken place in August in Johnston Point.
Abbott is currently on release with conditions,
but she has not been present in court.
Her next appearance is set for December 4th,
when she's expected to enter a plea.
