I presume that he has been declared the winner in that,
and there is Keith Ellison.
And hey, in fact, Donald Trump literally demanded
that we turn on each other, but we refused.
He demanded that we turn on our Somali neighbors,
and we said, no way, never.
He demanded that we turn on our immigrant
and refugee neighbors, and we said, no way, never.
He demanded that we turn on our trans neighbors,
and we said, absolutely not.
Donald Trump tried to wage a war on Minnesota.
He kept trying to take and take and take.
He tried to take our food stamps to feed our kids,
but we sued him and we beat him.
He tried to take our child care that gets parents to work.
He tried to take dollars to keep our schools open,
and we said, no, we sued him and we beat him again.
He sent ICE into our streets,
his agents tear gassed and assaulted Minnesotans.
They tore our neighborhoods,
neighbors out of their homes, and their cars.
They even shot and killed two Minnesotans.
But he couldn't make us turn on each other,
so instead he tried to make us beg for mercy.
But once again, Minnesotans don't beg for mercy.
Absolutely.
We stand up.
We fight back.
Instead, we cared for our neighbors.
We drove each other to work and to school.
We monitored his masked agents
and delivered groceries to those locked indoors.
That's what we did.
Minnesotans showed up for each other.
And tonight, we showed up for each other again.
We chose each
other again.
And we rejected Trump and his whole philosophy of Trumpism.
Trump promised no new wars, then he got us into a crazy war with Iran.
Trump promised lower prices,
then he imposed tariffs that raised costs for every Minnesotan.
Minnesotans saw through Trump's lies and his deflections.
We saw that he was the one raising our costs through his illegal war,
his illegal tariffs,
and his attacks on our state.
And we saw who was cashing in.
While Minnesotans paid more at the pump.
America's biggest oil companies made more than $130 billion
in profits in just six months of Trump's war.
Yeah, that's a bull right there.
That's almost triple what they made the year earlier.
And three days before his election, Trump was at Mar-a-Lago serving
king crab and caviar to what he called his biggest guys on Wall Street.
It's no wonder that Trump thinks affordability is a hoax.
He's rigging the economy to benefit himself,
his family, and his rich buddies in the Epstein class.
And they tell him things are going to be okay for him.
What we're seeing tonight across Minnesota and across the whole nation,
my friends, is not just a win for Democrats.
What we're seeing across this country
is a turning point in our nation's history.
It is a total repudiation of Donald Trump,
and it is a smackdown of Trumpism.
Minnesota, tonight we sent the message
that we reject division and hate.
We reject lies and scapegoating.
We reject Trump's call to treat our neighbors like our enemies.
Wealthy elites like Trump
and his billionaire buddies want to turn us against each other
so we don't notice them trying to pick our pockets.
That's the oldest trick in the damn book.
And tonight, Minnesotans, we saw right through it.
I want to thank you for allowing me to be your Attorney General.
It has been my great pleasure.
When I was first elected eight years ago,
I promised to help Minnesotans afford their lives,
and my team and I have done exactly that.
We took the insulin cartel
and cut the cost of insulin $35 per month for everybody
because nobody in Minnesota should have to ration medicine
that keeps them alive.
We took on John Deere
when they wouldn't let farmers fix their own equipment,
and we won.
We lowered the cost for farmers and those who rely on farmers,
which is every single Minnesotan.
We broke up AgriStats' price-fixing conspiracy
that was increasing grocery across the state of Minnesota.
We stood up to the landlords that broke the law
and overcharged tenants.
We took on the wage thieves, the scammers, the fraudsters,
and more, and we have been winning Minnesota.
We also passed key fraud-fighting legislation,
reformed Minnesota's medical debt system.
We also kept Minnesotans safe by taking
on illegal corporate behavior that contributes to crime.
When Fleet Farm negligently sold guns to straw buyers,
we sued Fleet Farm.
When Kia and Hyundai tried to pocket more profit
by cutting anti-theft features,
we forced them to take action to deter those auto thefts.
When vaping companies
and social media tried to prey on our kids for profit, we dragged
them to court to protect young Minnesotans.
When Donald Trump was re-elected, we stepped up.
For the better part of two years,
my team and I have worked nights and weekends defending
Minnesota from Donald Trump.
We fought for your food stamps, for your child care,
for your schools, and we told, all told,
we have protected Minnesota eight billion dollars
in funding that we kept inside of
our state.
We fought for your right to vote.
We fought Trump's illegal tariffs all the way
to the Supreme Court, and we won in the
Supreme Court.
And when Trump tried to bring a reckoning and retribution to Minnesota,
we did not back down. We marched, we protested,
and we took him to court to end Operation Metro
Surge. And now we're working to hold federal agents accountable
and to get justice for Renee
Goode and Alex Preddy
and every Minnesotan harmed during Operation Metro Surge. And I
am looking forward to working with Cedric Frazier
as our Hennepin County attorney.
I am so proud of what we accomplished together.
My opponents spent years trying to lie about my record.
But I'll be honest with you, it got on my nerves every now and again.
But in all those moments, I had to have faith.
I had to count enough on Minnesotans to see through these lies.
And tonight that's exactly what you did.
Thank you.
I am grateful for you seeing through their lies.
Now, my friends, I am a man in desperate need
of your mercy and gratitude.
I got a lot of people to thank.
All of you, I thank.
Let me thank first my family and my loved ones.
Thank you, my loved ones.
Thank you, my dear.
This is my family.
Give my family a hand, y'all.
I couldn't do it without them.
Monica, bless you, my dear.
Love of my life.
Thank you to everyone who supported my campaign, everyone
who knocked the door, made a phone call, or helped out in any way.
Thank you to the friends in organized labor, in the faith community,
in all of our partner organizations that stepped up.
Thank you to the great staff
of the Minnesota Attorney General's office.
Your work on behalf of Minnesotans day in and day out.
Tonight is your win just as much as Minnesota's.
And thank you to the campaign staff.
You guys don't see them every day, but they are amazing.
Thank you, Ben.
Thank you, Pfizer. Thank you, Brian.
Thank you, Andrew. Thank you, Abdulaziz. Thank you,
Jeremiah. Thank you, Josie. Thank you, Marco.
We've been listening to Attorney General Keith
Ellison, his acceptance speech tonight.
Fiery as well, we've listened to Peggy Flanagan,
Amy Klobuchar. We've heard a number of acceptance.
Kelly Morrison. Kelly Morrison,
a number of acceptance speeches,
Cedric Frazier as well. So the night is
Kind of wrapping up here at 1230,
but there's still so many more stories to tell from election night.
