Hakeem Jeffries to become 1st Black Speaker of the House

We understand that this election, a dramatic change election, means that the American people are crying out for transformational change. We hear you, we see you, we feel you, and House Democrats are committed to making life better for you. Beginning on day one, this is not a partisan moment, this is a patriotic one. This is not a blue moment or a red moment. It's a red, white, and blue moment because America has won tonight.
