Apparently we got a toss back, guys. What do you got going?
Yeah, we've got an election alert out of Fox News.
They are projecting that Democrats will take the House.
Again, that comes from Fox News.
They are projecting that Democrats,
based on the results that have come through so far tonight,
that Democrats will take the House.
We'll show that to you right now with still some results to go.
But the Democrats hold a 132-77 lead over the Republicans.
Catherine, not a surprise, this is an off-election.
It's a rebuke, as you point out,
to Republicans or at least to President Trump, and it's not
unusual that the Democrats would take control of the House.
That's right.
That's right.
The last time this happened, of course,
was in 2018 in President Trump's first midterm
election when Democrats picked up 40 seats
in majority party control of the House.
They of course lost it in 2022.
And so these midterm elections often
do result in change in party control.
And so I think the question now
is what will the size of the majority be?
As we saw with Republicans over the last couple of weeks.
A couple of years, having a narrow majority is very challenging.
And of course, President Trump
is still president for the next two years.
And so that means divided government.
We don't yet know what's happening in the Senate,
although we certainly have some clues.
But this really changes the dynamics in Washington and nationally.
Also, some of the candidates said,
just as we're talking about all of these races across the country,
Annie Andrews out of South Carolina is saying,
nobody recruited me out of Washington.
We're seeing that theme in a couple of these races.
You have the minister in Kansas.
You have a math teacher out of Rochester, Minnesota.
And, you know, so it's just an interesting theme.
It is an interesting theme.
And what's notable is that those are actually the races
that really no one thought was going to be competitive.
People thought that those were a slam dunk for Republicans.
Otherwise, I think Democrats would have
have tried to recruit some people with political experience.
I want to bring Blais into this.
Blais, our Minnesota race here
for U.S. Senate becomes very important now.
It does become very important,
but we have a flip in the Minnesota House, our first one
of the night.
That tranche that came in in Dakota County,
Jeff Witte, the Republican, has lost to Brian
Cohn by eight.
points in the Lakeville area.
Witte's a very popular, seen as a centrist Republican.
He's lost to the DFL challenger.
And what I'm seeing in Dakota County
is that there is a seven-point improvement of Amy
Klobuchar over Tim Walz from four years ago.
In fact, let's go back here and look at it.
So if we look at the swing, there you have it.
That's from two years ago.
But in my numbers...
Tim Walz won Dakota County by about 14 points.
Amy Klobuchar has won Dakota County by about 21 points.
That is a suburban area the Democrats
were starting to get confident in,
especially after Metro surge.
All right, let's look at the Senate race there, too.
Because apparently we got some more election results coming back.
We're going to toss it back to Randy and Kelsey.
Okay, we'll let you guys take a look at those.
In the meantime, breaking news out of Texas.
The race has been called for James Tallarico,
the Democrat in this race, with 59.5% of the vote.
Again, he's the projected winner tonight.
