for the 11th congressional district.
San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan facing off
with State Senator Scott Weiner,
both vying to fill the seat that will be vacated for the first
time in a very long time by outgoing Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.
KTVU's Amber Lee joining us live
from Chan's election night event
at the Grey Area Grand Theater in San Francisco. Amber.
Mike and Claudine were inside the Grand Theater
in the heart of the Mission District.
San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan will
be holding her election night party here.
Now, the doors open at 8.30, but first, let's take a look at the video
that her campaign staff shared with us that was shot earlier today.
Now, Chan is seeking to fill the District 11 seat long held
by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, who served for nearly four decades.
Pelosi and Chan...
We campaigned together earlier today to get out the vote.
Now, Chan has trailed her opponent, State Senator Scott Weiner,
in recent polls, but she has narrowed the margin.
Chan has received many endorsements, including those from labor unions.
And Chinese-speaking voters could help boost Chan.
Now, first results are expected at 8.45 with hourly drops.
Chan is scheduled to speak and address her supporters right here.
Likely behind me and on that stage later tonight.
Claudine, Mike.
All right, Amber, thank you for that.
From Amber, let's head right out to KTVU's Zach Sauce,
who's live at Scott Wiener's event tonight
at the Swedish American Hall in San Francisco.
How's the state senator's day been?
And State Senator Scott Wiener expected to arrive here later
this evening for a watch party where he'll join supporters
as those results roll in.
Again, State Senator Wiener hoping to replace former congressman,
former House Speaker rather, Nancy Pelosi, who,
as you mentioned, held her seat for nearly four decades.
Wiener, who has served as State Senator for the last two years,
has been a great support for the state.
10 years is facing off against San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan.
Among the top issues he's been running on,
housing affordability, education reform,
the regulation of data centers,
and privacy surrounding the use of flock cameras.
Recent polling, as Amber mentioned,
showing Wiener with a slim lead over Chan, but a large number...
of voters polled remain undecided. So it'll be interesting
to see how those last minute voters play into this race.
Again, doors open here at the Swedish American Hall around 730
with Wiener expected to address voters around nine this evening.
Mike. All right, Zach sauce live tonight there
in San Francisco. Zach, thank you. The
