California Governor Gavin Newsom is pressing the panic button as Texas and other red states are poised to remove several Democrats from their House seats via midterm redistricting thanks to President Trump's intervention. On Monday, Newsom wrote a gruesome letter to Trump demanding that he tell the states to back off. If not, he warned Trump that California would have no choice but to rig its own maps. Moreover, he would lead an effort for other blue states to eliminate GOP seats. Really, he'll do neither of those, because California will actually be losing a bunch of seats as soon as the new census is complete, if we can keep Newsom from cheating on it, which will be hard to do. Hey, President Trump, it's time to stand down. It's time to make another phone call to Greg Abbott. This time, instead of calling him and telling him you're, quote-unquote, entitled to five congressional seats, it's time to tell him to stand down. It's time to recognize that democracy is at risk. It's time to, dare I say, do the right thing. Actually, see how that feels for you, doing the right thing. If you don't, California will neutralize anything you do in the state of Texas. California will continue to punch above its weight. We believe in democracy. We believe in the enduring values of our founding fathers. There's 240. 249 years. We're not going to sit back passively. We're not going to sit back and watch you light democracy on fire. We will fight fire with fire. I personally don't even think that Newsom was fairly elected. Y'all tell me if you're from California. But based on the maps I've seen, and based on the numbers, it looks like the fix was even in for the governor's recall and his actual election. Remember, no more Democratic seats. Less. Many, many less, because everyone's moved out of your state, which means you get less representation. They've moved out of all the Democratic states, for that matter. Enjoy the show.
