Danny Sprinkle on Nikola Dzepina's Night
Nov 3, 2026
What can you say about his development from year one to year two
and his comfortability in his scheme?
Yeah, I mean, he had never even been to the United States as of,
like, December 11th last year.
You know, like, literally,
he got here and we put him in a game the next day
because we had so many injuries last year.
Thank you.
You know, he didn't know any of the plays. He missed seven months.
He wasn't here all summer or anything.
So, you know, you can tell, like, he's really cerebral.
You know, that's the one really thing about a lot of these guys.
Our post guys are some of our best passers,
like Lawan, Nikola, Latham.
They can really pass the basketball.
And sometimes they pass up layups, which is the problem.
But he's got such a really good feel.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Like I said, sometimes he settles for the three too much
because he's dynamic, man.
He plays 15 feet.
If I did the math right, I think Nikola had...
17 of your first 23 points in the second half.
Did you encourage him at halftime to start looking for the basket, or
did he just find the openings?
Yeah, and it was actually probably midway through the first half.
Jumped in pretty good about,
cuz he was just out there shooting fadeaway threes.
And yeah, you're open, but put the pressure on the defense.
And he started doing that, and that's when, and he got more aggressive,
cuz he was closer to the basket,
and he got a couple offensive rebound tip ins.
Got to the free-throw line a couple times,
being aggressive, and you kind of just, you know,
when you're closer to the basket, it puts you in the fight.
You know, like, there's contact down there, you know,
and I think that kind of got him into the game.
At times it seems like, I know it's
with the team, it seems like, you know,
they're still trying to get to know each other out there.
