Deja from CrochetEverAfter reviews Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable yarn, a self-striping, 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn. She highlights its wool-like appearance and softness without the itchiness or allergies associated with wool. After creating a Mobius scarf, she praises its rich color transitions, ease of use, and minimal blocking requirements.
Hey everyone, it's Deja from CrochetEverAfter.com. Today I'm going
to do a review on Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable yarn.
So this is a self-striping yarn.
You can see on the inside that we have quite a few colors in here.
They kind of look like they go continuously around.
You can kind of see the blue and the green.
It doesn't look too long of a color line,
because you can see this is about all of this color here,
so that's going to go wrap around once.
So maybe.
I'm going to make up a scarf for a pattern
that I'm selling with one of the balls.
And, um...
It's 100% acrylic, it's actually really soft, and it's a single ply,
but it won't stick to itself because it is acrylic.
It has kind of like a halo, as if it were wool,
so it's kind of like the look of wool, but without all the hassle.
So if you're allergic to wool, this is a great alternative.
It's got the nice texture of wool, but it's actually acrylic.
It's not scratchy like wool, it's very soft.
But it's got kind of the wool look to it, is what it needs.
But you get 280 yards in one ball,
so it's a really good amount for one single ball.
This one is Dragonfly, it's a worsted weight.
So I'm going to go ahead and start working with it.
I'll show you how the color runs work out for crochet.
Okay, I finished my first project with the Unforgettable Yarn.
This is going to be called
Slanting Squares Mobius Scarf,
so if you like the way the pattern looks, it's going to be
in the shop in a little bit,
so make sure you follow the blog or sign up for the newsletter
so you can get notified when it's available.
Plus you get a 50% off coupon, so don't forget
to do that. But I wanted to show you
the color run before I made it into the Mobius Scarf.
If you can see.
The colors are just really great. They're very rich.
They have a few rows worth of color for each color, so I like that.
I don't have just like a little splotch of color.
I like having the actual stripes show up. So really easy to work with.
No problem frogging. It does not stick to itself.
Very easy to block. I don't even really need to block it.
You can see how well I haven't even started.
I just pinned it down right now. I haven't wetted or anything
and you can see how well the stitches already show up.
I'm just kind of making the edges straight, you know,
make sure it's a rectangle. But love this yarn so far. I'll give you
a closer up view of it in a second after this is done being blocked.
Here's a little up close.
Pretty colors and it has kind of a sheen to it.
Self-striping yarn. I also used this yarn on my chroma blanket.
If you go to my website and look in the shop,
you'll see the chroma blanket. And I used the colorway parrot,
which has really cool rainbow colors in it.
So I really like this yarn. It is very easy to work with.
It's great. It doesn't need to be blocked, really.
I just block to get my edges nice and straight.
I highly recommend this yarn, so let me know if you've used it before,
let us know in the comments how you like it,
what's your favorite colorway, and thank you for watching!
