How much did my new flower farm actually make in its first season? Last week I shared the £3,500 it cost to set up this field from scratch. Today I’m breaking down what the flowers earned across five ways of selling: weddings, local deliveries, my self service flower shed, wholesale buckets and farmers markets.

Flowers are a part time job for me. I fitted them in around YouTube, making soil blockers, courses and workshops. I spent a few hours a week on the field, did very little marketing and only harvested from late June. So these numbers come from about 16 weeks of selling.

Here’s how it added up:
Local deliveries: £177
Wedding DIY buckets: £187.50
Flower shed: £810
Wholesale buckets: £1,261
Farmers markets: £1,718 turnover (about £500 profit)
Total: £4,153 turnover, around £260 a week

I also cover why the flower shed struggled, why wholesale and wedding buckets gave me the best return for my time, and whether the flowers paid back the setup costs.

If you’ve sold flowers before, tell me in the comments what you made in your first season.
