You know, I believe that voters deserve the truth,
and that begins by a thorough investigation.
Part of rebuilding trust with the community,
it requires an independent investigation.
The allegations against me have been devastating to my family,
to my community, and attack on my
character. And damages done by false accusations are not easily undone.
Still, I am grateful to
To the entire community of Fresno again who have stood by me,
stood by my family and have showered
me just honestly with well wishes, with kindness,
with compassion and again sharing their stories
during of what things that they have experienced in this city.
The truth matters, accountability
matters and I ask voters that the truth is on the ballot
because it is. Thank you.
The point is, number one,
we want to let the public know because I think those of us who
are tapped into the news overestimate many times what
the general public might know.
General public, in case you don't know,
Mr. Singh was not driving under the influence.
He was falsely arrested.
That shouldn't be considered when you return your ballot.
But in addition, we want to get to the bottom of it.
The seriousness of these allegations and the curiousness of the timing,
I would be very, very surprised if the AG said, we're not interested.
But if they do, what's gonna be the protocol?
If they do, there are other options
and we'll revisit it once we get a definitive
determination of whether a government agency is gonna do it.
What I will say is we don't want
a law firm paid for by the city to do it.
Because in my experience, those types of so-called investigations reach
a predestined conclusion to benefit the client who retains them.
