Video Summary
AI GeneratedA magician performs a card trick where two spectator-chosen cards are identified despite extensive shuffling. The trick relies on a pre-arranged alternating color sequence and a specific dealing method to isolate the chosen cards into separate color-coded piles, culminating in a visual reveal where the chosen cards are the only ones of a differing color.
The magician has a deck of cards and removes them from the box.
He then shows the spectator the backs of the cards
and the faces of the cards
to show they're all mixed and they're in no particular order.
He then tells the spectator that he wants them to choose two cards.
So just say stop whenever you want,
and let's just say the spectator says stop here,
and this is genuinely a free choice.
If the spectator wants to keep going they can keep
going, so let's say they say stop here,
and the first card the spectator has chosen is this one,
and the second card is the one below it,
which is this one here. These cards are
then returned exactly where they're found in the deck,
and the rest of the cards go on top.
There's no breaks,
there's no funny moves and everything is clean and fair.
The magician then says that he wants
to lose the spectator's card into the deck
even more and he's going to do this by creating four different piles.
So the Magician has four roughly even piles,
and to make things even more random,
he mixes around two of the piles
to change the order of all the cards,
and then he instructs the Spectator
to mix up the cards as much as they want.
So the Spectator takes these two piles
and riffle shuffles them together,
and then truly mixes them up
with an overhand shuffle as well.
The Magician does not touch the cards.
The Spectator does the same with these two piles.
He picks them up, he riffle shuffles them together,
if he can do that,
And then he gives them an overhand shuffle as well.
Again, the magician does not touch the cards,
and everything is clean and fair.
Once the spectator's done this the magician
then turns over one of the packets and says he's going
to do something that no magician ever does.
He's going to mix the face up into face down cards
to truly make the deck a complete mess.
So the magician mixes all the cards up
and pushes them together just like
this and then gives them one final cut.
Now at this point the spectator freely chose any card that they wanted.
The spectator then put the cards back in the deck,
everything was mixed up by the spectator,
and the magician has no idea what
the spectator's card is, nor where it is.
But when he snaps his fingers and spreads through the cards,
you'll see that all of the cards are red,
apart from one black four of spades here.
And if we flip the cards over,
all of the cards on this side, these are all black,
apart from one red two of diamonds here.
And these are the spectator's chosen cards. The spectator is fooled.
Welcome back to the channel everyone Oscar Owen here
and I hope you enjoyed watching that magic
trick. Now in the performance I was actually using
the Double O Noir playing cards which is a
luxury and beautiful deck of cards
that I'm releasing very very soon on Kickstarter.
Now these cards have a beautiful golden ribbon on their edge.
They're printed on the best card
stock possible, meaning they just handle
so well in your hands when it comes to performing. And if
you want to support the channel then it really
would mean the world to me if you backed these
playing cards on Kickstarter.
So we're releasing them very very soon, we're only releasing a
limited number of them as well,
so please click the first link in the description, sign up to
them on Kickstarter and you'll know exactly when they're released.
Anyway, let's learn the trick!
Hey everyone I'm so so excited to teach you this magic trick.
It's an absolute killer and it's
pretty much self-working. Now I'm using
the Double O Noir playing cards for this trick. It would mean the
world to me if you backed them on Kickstarter
but you can use any deck of cards for this.
Now there's a little setup required
which is you need all the cards to alternate
red black red black red black throughout the deck.
So just take your deck of cards
and alternate them red black the whole way through
and then you're ready to begin.
So you remove the cards from the box and you show the backs
and then you can show the faces to the
spectator just to showcase that they're in no particular order.
Now very importantly when you
showcase the faces of the cards
of the spectator you don't run through them individually because
they might notice that it's going red black.
Instead what you want to do is push across
clumps of cards like this and you just do it very quickly
and it looks like the deck
is in no particular order. So you say
hey look I've got a deck of cards here
These are the cards, the faces, and, you know, here are the backs.
Let's do a trick.
That's how you kind of get into it.
The next thing you want to do is for the spectator to choose two cards.
If you've got two spectators, this is like the perfect trick for them.
But you basically say, say stop whenever you want, all right?
And there's no force here.
So they can either reach in and they can touch your card,
or you can just dribble through the cards like this.
So let's just say they say stop here.
What you're going to do is show them.
The first card that they stopped
at and this is the only sleight in them in this whole trick.
You don't put this card back on the deck,
you put this card on the table
and then you show them the second card below it
and then you put this card on top.
Then you're going to return these two cards
to the packet that's in your hand,
not the packets on the table, the packets in your hand,
and the rest of the cards will go on top.
And what you've just done is you reverse the order of these two cards
so that the red-black pattern doesn't work anymore.
So you can now see there's two black cards together,
and when this packet would go on top,
there'd be two red cards together.
So this packet goes on top, and now the whole trick is set up,
and it's basically just ready to go.
You can give the cards as many cuts as you want at this point,
it just really doesn't matter because
cutting the cards doesn't actually change the order
and the red-black pattern will still continue.
And then you explain to the spectator you want them to mix up
the cards in a very special way to make it truly random.
You deal out four piles, so you go from left to right,
one, two, three, four, but here's the second
thing you've got to remember.
You don't just deal out another card here, here, here, instead you go
back this way, so we go left to right,
and then right to left, and the other rule you've got to
remember is you never put one card on the same pile twice,
meaning we don't put a second card
here, we put it in the middle pile, this pile,
and then this pile, and then we don't put this card
This card here, we put it back here.
So the middle two piles are going to have more cards than
the other ones, if that makes sense.
So you just deal the packets down like this and I'll speed
this part of the video up to save you time.
Cool, so I've dealt out all the cards
and essentially if we turn the cards over now,
you'll see the situation we have
which is all of these cards here, they're going to be red
and all of these cards here,
they're going to be black with one red card in the middle.
All of these cards here, they're going to be red with one black card
which is the spectator's card
and all of these cards here, they're going to be black.
The final thing we're going to do is we just need
to switch around the middle two piles.
Okay, so we do this under the guise of making this even more random.
So you say, hey, look, to make this even more random,
I'm going to switch this pile and this pile.
So it really, so I don't know what cards are where.
And then I want you to mix these two piles together.
So the spectator can riffle shuffle these cards together.
They can overhand shuffle them together.
It really doesn't matter because all they're doing now
is they're mixing all the red cards with one black card,
which is their selection.
And it's exactly the same with this packet here.
They mix up all the cards.
They can give them an overhand shuffle if they want as well.
And then the final thing we do,
is once they're happy that these two piles
are mixed we just turn over one packet and say that
we're going to mix the cards face up into face down
so you just riffle shuffle the cards or
merge the cards together face up
into face down push them together you can even give the cards
a few more cuts at this point if you want
as well it really doesn't matter and then simply when you
spread through the cards like this you'll notice
that all the cards are black apart from one red
Red Four of Diamonds, which is their card.
And then if we flip the card,
The card's over, all the cards on this side,
these are all red, with one black four of spades,
which was their selection.
And that's how this amazing magic trick works.
Thanks so much for watching, guys,
and please click the first link in the description
