Along the lines with the Chargers, though,
you know I love finding crazy stats with it.
Please.
So, chart, after this debacle of a game,
again, as they go 0-7 against the Rams,
they have now gone 27 straight drives without a touchdown.
That's the longest streak in the NFL since the 2024 Dolphins,
who were coached by who?
Mike McDaniel, the current offensive coordinator for the Chargers.
That 2024 Dolphins went 30 straight drives without a touchdown.
Chargers are getting very, very close to that record.
They're the only winless team, aren't they?
Yes.
Worst start since 2000, and it's coming off of their bye.
Yes.
It was so incredible.
There's this reporter, I'm blanking on the name,
but he's the Chargers reporter for the Athletic,
and he was pressing Jim Harbaugh at the post-game press conference.
He was like, well...
You keep saying there's going to be change.
What's going on?
Why are you being vague about it?
And then Jim Harbaugh obviously gave his little vague answer again.
Another question.
Another one.
On top of that, it was just, it was glorious.
But here's the thing at this point.
At this point of the season, and John,
maybe you have a different idea about this.
I don't think it's all on him.
I just really don't think it's all on McDaniel.
At this point, it's just a collective effort of just bad football.
Justin Herbert.
I've said this multiple times now,
and we can talk about the receivers, and he doesn't have
these weapons. We talk about that all the time.
He is throwing the ball right directly to the
defenders when they are right in front of a receiver,
or he's throwing it right into a
zone coverage right at a linebacker, or he's throwing it.
You know, there's guys undercutting him,
and it's like he doesn't even see their number.
He doesn't even see that they're wearing
the opposing team's uniform.
And I have no understanding of how that keeps happening.
When Justin Herbert was one of the five
to six best quarterbacks in football
over the past three to four years,
I have zero idea why that keeps happening.
I believe Mike McDaniel is still on the team as a shield
because I do believe this is Jim Harbaugh's last year
as an NFL head coach.
Oh!
So you're gone there, because we've talked about that before,
where you think the contract's just too big for him to not leave.
But now you're there.
No, no, no, not leave.
He's going to get kicked upstairs.
I think he's going to still be a part of the organization.
I think he will have it, because the Spanos
are not going to pay him to not coach.
They're going to make him bag groceries or something for the family.
He's not going to do nothing.
But he looks like he doesn't care.
He looked, he, that fire, that fire he had coaching at Michigan,
that fire he had coaching
for San Diego, USD,
I'm speaking of that fire he had coaching the San Francisco 49ers, that
light in his eyes, it's gone, buddy.
That light's out.
That light is dim.
I don't know whether Michigan broke him
or whether this season has kind of put him in
a weird space.
I know he's had some health issues as well.
I did.
I don't think he comes back, man.
And I think he's not firing people
because he wants everybody to just get to the end of the season
and keep it moving.
Then McDaniel takes over as head coach.
Well, that was probably the plan, but you can't do that now.
No, you cannot.
Oh, man.
It's just unbelievable seeing zero and seven next to the Chargers.
Think about how bad they play.
And think about how bad he's looked as a coach.
Yeah, like they just have it seems like they have no answer.
There's no punch. Like I said, there's no energy. There's no verb.
Like they don't have that Harbaugh intensity that Harbaugh mentality
that all of his past teams have had whether it's at Michigan
or the 49ers or whatever. It's just not there.
Like guys aren't behind him. He's the message isn't going through.
