She focuses on a red and burgundy color scheme, utilizing a mix of DIY enhancements, clearance finds, and heirloom pieces, while also updating her family room with a new Wayfair rug.
Hey guys, welcome or welcome back.
My name is Sissy and in today's video,
I'm kicking off my very first Christmas decorating video for 2026.
So stick around as I decorate our primary bedroom,
en suite bathroom, and guest bedroom for Christmas.
I absolutely love a good before and after, so here are a few
before clips and once I'm done decorating, I'll share an after.
I'm so looking forward to sharing
the dramatic transformations as I saw some beautiful new
Christmas decor in real time.
Plus, make sure to stick around until the very end
because I'm also unboxing and styling
a brand new rug from Wayfair that completely changes
the vibe of our family room.
So I hope you enjoyed this one, and if so,
please remember to like, subscribe if you're new,
comment, and share. Also, using your phone, please like this video,

As always, my supervisor
is on duty with me today,
though as you can see,
he's mostly just
slacking off. Every so often,
he'll make a run for it with something clamped in his mouth.
Fortunately, he's smart enough to deliver his loot to Dad,
who promptly returns it to me.
Last year, I purchased this 7 1⁄2-foot
Grand Duchess Twinkling Balsam for a
Christmas Tree from the Home Depot.
After setting it up again,
I was happy to see it's just as pretty as last year.
I especially love that it doesn't require a lot of fluffing,
which makes setup quick and easy.
After placing these AAA batteries in the remote, we'll store the box
in my decor closet and finish the garland I started DIYing last night.
By the way, I prefer storing my Christmas trees in their original
boxes rather than a tree bag, because the box fits perfectly
in my decor closet and takes up a lot less space.
Here, I'm using the exact
same garland from last year,
but I've enhanced it
with additional cedar
and cedar berry stems.
And instead of just sticking them in,
I used fasteners to hold them securely in place.
I also made a last-minute decision
to change the ribbon color on this wreath
to match the red tones I'm focusing on for this year's Christmas decor.
Also added pine cones
and whiteberry picks
to this garland,
along with some extra whiteberry picks for the wreath.
And instead of the fireplace mantle,
I decided to hang the garland on the large mirror
in our bedroom because I have something
different planned for the fireplace.
Last night I attached four
suction cups to this mirror
to hold the garland because the
command strips I originally placed on the wall didn't work.
And although this nine foot garland
was too short for this mirror, I'm so happy with the results.
Folks.
mirror, I
also added a suction cup
to this glass frame wall
art to hold the wreath.
This cozy cloud
quilt is from Pottery Barn,
along with the duvet cover and decorative pillow covers you're about
to see in a minute. I absolutely love the weight of it,
so instead of placing it on top of this
duvet cover, like I usually do with my quilts,
I decided to put it directly on top of the flat
sheet. And with the colder weather,
it has definitely kept us incredibly warm at night.
When choosing decorative pillow covers,
I originally went with something completely
different.
But after playing around
with a few different colors, I settled on these.
And although they're darker in color,
they fit the overall look of this bed perfectly.
Next,
we're adding
a little bit
of Christmas
decor to our
en suite
bathroom.
I decided to reuse the same fluted metal vases that I use
when decorating our fireplace mantel
for fall, but I swapped out the florals.
This time I'm using these gorgeous green berry stamps
that I ordered from Etsy back
in the spring. Decorating
the ledge behind the tub,
I used a new Christmas print from Amazon framed
in a piece from Hobby Lobby,
and I paired it with an old Christmas tree from Joanne's Fabrics.
And to add a little color,
I wrapped some velvet ribbon around the frame
and finished it
with a bow.
For decorating
the guest bedroom
for Christmas,
I wanted to remove this faux olive tree to free up some space.
And here are a few before clips,
and once the room is fully styled for the holidays,
I'll share the afters.
If you've been following my channel for a while,
you know I love to thoroughly clean my spaces before decorating them.
So let's give this dresser a quick wipe down,
then we'll pick out the perfect art print to go above the headboard.
All of these art prints are from Amazon,
and I love adding a few new ones to my collection
each year.
And instead of a traditional Christmas scene,
I decided to go with a winter landscape this
time, especially
since this DIY
swag hides most of
the print anyway.
This is a new decor piece I found on clearance at Target.
I'm going to style it using five
of these very stamps that I ordered off of Etsy this
This past spring.
Across from it, I'm using a riser to elevate this lamp
so I can stack three of my favorite
decor books vertically next to it.
And to balance out the look, I'm going to add three more decor
books horizontally on the opposite side.
Along with a twisted wire easel from Michaels,
I added this candle holder from Target
and topped it with this cider and cinnamon scented candle
In a tall glass cloche, which are also from Target.
This is one of the art prints I chose earlier
in a frame from Hobby Lobby.
And on the opposite side, I added this glass display box
and a glass match cloche next to it.
And they're both from Amazon.
And I finished the look with one of the branches
that
had
fallen
off.
In order to add a little more color to this space,
I placed this floral decor pillow cover from Etsy
in an old wire basket that I think I found
at the at home store.
Here I'm using two of the six foot pine
and pine cone garlands from Michael's and I twisted
them together to get a fuller look.
And later I'm going to accent the garland
with three different colors of ribbon I picked
up from Hobby Lobby last year.
Last night I
washed this today
cover and insert
and completely
forgot that they
were still
in the dryer.
Now that they're out I'm adding one of my favorite quilts
and a chunky knit throw to
To style this bed for Christmas.
By the way the sheets are from Bed Bath and Beyond
but the Tempur-pedic pillows you'll see
in a minute are from Mattress Firm.
And later on I'm going to add two decorative pillow covers
I found
on Etsy
paired
with
inserts
from
Amazon.
Next I'm
adding
some
ceramic
Christmas village houses from Pottery Barn in three different sizes.
Unfortunately, they're no longer available online,
but I was lucky enough to score a
larger one on clearance
while shopping at the Pottery Barn outlet last week.
And once the last tea light is added,
I'll share some before and after views of our decorated
guest bedroom for Christmas.
This garland is similar to the one I placed
on the mirror in our primary bedroom earlier.
But when DIYing this one I chose to add
a darker color of berry picks as well as some
additional artificial
berry stems all
from Hobby Lobby.
Love the look of an asymmetrical
garland on the
fireplace but it definitely requires strategic hook placement
to stay secured. So I ended up
using four five pound command hooks on each end
and thankfully it worked perfectly.
I've had this faux fur star in our family for years, and each year, I
like placing it on the Christmas tree in our bedroom as a tree topper.
I'm also going to share some faux wreaths that are a family heirloom,
and we'll display them as I have in the past
on the doors in our en suite bath.
To decorate this
fireplace mantel,
I'm using some of
my favorite decor
books and some old
bookends that I've
had for years.
I also added a budget-friendly easel from Michaels
and topped it with some artwork from Amazon
and a frame that I wrapped with some ribbon from Hobby Lobby.
Next, I added these bookends that I found
on clearance at Pottery Barn last year.
And on the opposite side,
I placed a Santa bus that's new to me this year.
And next to it, an old pine cone from Michaels.
To complete the look, I added additional artwork
from Michael's after Christmas sale last year and
sprinkled in a few
of the cedar branches
that had fallen off
the garland earlier.
Next we'll add some
Christmas stockings to the fireplace along
with some jingle bells that I DIY'd last year.
After adding
the bells
and burgundy
ribbon,
I felt the red
and beige
stocking
no longer
fit the color scheme.
So I switched it with this brown one
and was very happy with the change.
And to finish decorating this fireplace for Christmas,
I added some warm white Christmas
lights from Michaels, which has nine different modes and a timer.
Before decorating the Christmas tree in our primary bedroom,
I need to open up these paper
ornaments that I found on clearance
at Walmart last year for less than a dollar a box.
And along with these, I'm
also adding some additional paper honeycomb ornaments from
Amazon that I've had for years.
As you can see, my supervisor takes
his holiday decorating duties very seriously.
Every year, he closely supervises me putting up the ornaments,
only to fall fast asleep five minutes later.
I'm filling the large open spaces with these big ornaments before decorating
the branches with the smaller ones.
And every so often,
my supervisor would wake up to help for a few minutes
before drifting right back to sleep.
It did take
over
an hour
to place
all of
these
ornaments
on the
tree.
That's because I was trying to spread out the nine different colors
while filling in all the open spaces.
And along with using the larger ornaments to do this,
I also added
in some pine cones
and faux florals.
By the way, the burgundy faux
florals shown earlier
are from
Michael's after Christmas sale last year.
And all of these sprays are from Hobby Lobby.
Unlike last year, I'm also adding in some of the burgundy sprays
as well as keeping the brown ones in here because in my opinion,
they help balance out all of the brighter colors.
Next, we'll turn on all
of the Christmas
lights and take
a look at the before
and afters of our
decorated bedroom,
en suite bath,
and guest bedroom
for Christmas with some
Christmas decorating,
I'm also unboxing and styling a new rug from Wayfair that completely
changed the vibe of our family room.
But first I needed to remove the old one and my youngest
arrived just
in time to help.
I've
been wanting
to change out
this rug for
over a year now
because with Max tracking in all of the dirt, it's hard to keep clean.
So this new rug which was 64% off at the time of purchase
and is darker in color,
I figured it would require less cleaning than the old one.
I wasn't too
happy with
the color
because I
felt that it
clashed with
the colors
of the
fireplace,
but I would love to know what you think.
We've
also been
wanting to
get rid of
our 10-foot
Christmas
tree,
so after discussing it with Hubby,
we agreed to donate it to a family member
and she was so excited to receive it.
So later you'll see our youngest taking it to the garage
so we can load it up later.
