Violent Halloween weekend across the United States

Stopping national news tonight, at least six people are dead and dozens of others are injured following a handful of Halloween weekend shootings across the country. Dallas, Texas saw the deadliest of those, with three shootings in the span of about an hour. That resulted in four people killed and 15 people injured. Now police are trying to determine whether the gun violence was connected. This is completely unacceptable for it to take place in Dallas, and we're going to do everything that we need to do. To get everyone in custody, I was responsible for this. Meantime, in Birmingham, Alabama, one person was killed and eight people were injured in a mass shooting just outside of Legion Field after the annual Magic City Classic football game. It is still unclear what led up to the gunfire. The Magic City Classic is a staple event here in our community, in the HBC community, and this will not take away from that. When people show up and they do wrong things, we'll hold them accountable, But we will continue. To band together as a community, not just here in Birmingham, but throughout the nation. And we will win the fight against those who are violent and those who want to disrupt community events. Police in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Newark, Delaware, and Bloomington, Illinois, also reporting shootings in their nightlife districts over the weekend. end right now.
