The use of orange color in Chinese painting

The traditional orange Chinese watercolor is derived from Cinnabar. The bright mineral color is stable and long lasting, making it a great color to ue for Chinese painting. However, I seldom use single color in my brush strokes. I always mix color.

Orange color is probably the most used color in my core color. It can be mixed with ink to get brown color, with yellow and red to get different shades or red.
