That's for sure.
Shoot, we can get real winters around here.
We can get below zero.
All right, y'all be careful.
We might be lost now.
Oh, Rick.
We got to talk like we got manners.
Yeah.
PG, brother.
Thank you, brother.
Thank you.
Yeah, we all good like that.
Well, guys, today is a special edition of the HVAC Guy Live Show.
I have two wonderful guests right here, Jake and Rick.
If y'all aren't familiar with their channels, please look them up.
I don't have them in a banner right now.
Y'all feel free to check out HVACR Survival
on the Insta, right?
This guy over here.
Of course.
Yes, sir.
You do?
That's cute of you.
That's cute of you.
Hey, hey, you know what don't matter these days?
Everybody's a YouTuber nowadays, man.
Everybody's a YouTuber nowadays.
Hey, and hey, speaking of everybody being a YouTuber,
I happen to see sometimes on my YouTube channel,
like some Gen Xer just like me,
hey, I just started a YouTube channel,
and I'm making this much money.
Bullshit is what it is.
I don't want to reach out
and tell people that
it's like any other job.
You've got to put in work.
Sure, it's not, um...
It ain't going to come to you
just easy peasy.
Mm-mm.
Say it again, Jake?
You've got to put in that effort.
You do.
Do. Do. Um.
I'll be honest.
What happened with me and social media,
I wasn't
looking for
um somebody to sponsor me i wasn't looking
for money i just was doing it to teach a little bit
but it developed into this whole community
in that and you know it kind of keeps me wanting
to keep putting out videos you know it's like uh checking
in with family every once in a while
well well let's start off
with this Kurt let's just start off with a uh big
Congratulations, huh?
The man hit that ******* 100,000.
Let's go.
He's going to get the gold medallion before long.
Well, real one, not these fake ones where
these guys are buying their subscribers, right?
We've seen those.
That's going to be a legit one.
And I will say there's nobody more deserving right now than you.
The next guy in line.
I'd hate to say it, but maybe Rick, you know,
maybe another two more years, you know, but thank you, man.
I really appreciate that. Um,
I got to tell you for some reason this year,
the channel has been blowing up. I mean,
unlike any other years I've had before, it's been a great, it's been,
I'll tell you what I started with. Um, here's an example.
I started with ACIQ a year ago.
And that a year ago, I had 81,000 subscribers.
So in one year, that was a huge jump for me.
Are you chalking that up to being with ACIQ?
No.
I mean, I know you love them.
You rep them.
When are you getting a tattoo?
I'm
Maybe a little neck tat.
starting
Maybe a little ACIQ right on the hand, on the knuckles, brother.
I mean.
There you go.
He's thinking about it.
No, no, no.
Hey, Al.
to
Between you and me, we are different generations now.
speak
When you talk about tattoos,
what I think is I'm going to risk hepatitis C for ACIQ.
Hey, hey.
now.
But, Kurt, you can pull up that sleeve, brother.
Come on.
I do like them.
I do like ACIQ.
And let me.
I'm going to tell you something
that I told some of the people over at ACIQ.
I do know that they've had some difficulties
with some of their products and boards and stuff.
Everybody does.
Everybody does.
But my customers are recognizing that I'm offering some
of the top-of-the-line equipment
out there on the market at a genuinely good price.
My next competitor is who's ever selling
this top-of-the-line carrier infinity thing,
and they're charging 20 over double what I'm charging
to install the exact same thing.
And I'm winning contracts, and it's helping my business.
We sell carrier, and that ACIQ stuff
is who's making carriers on the wall inverter systems.
And I'm looking at it, and I'm like, wait a minute.
This looks awfully familiar.
And I'm looking at the R Plus and the communication wiring terminology,
and I'm like, yeah, we know who made this.
Well, I think the company, the ones that I sell,
the side discharge, is actually a Midea product.
It is.
But, um...
Still, it's around here.
Rheem and Ruud still do not offer the type
of heat pump that they're selling.
Carrier had to get a contract with Midea
so that they could offer a product like this.
It's just crazy that it has been so long
for something like this to get to the market.
So I'm proud to rep them.
I love the energy.
Now, we've had this discussion off of, you know,
obviously we communicate outside of this type of networking.
Thank you.
Your infinity for that hot gas bypass.
Look, look, and I've heard your argument.
My market, totally different, right?
So not needing the heat strips.
And I've heard the argument you said where.
You're throwing the savings that you're potentially paying for out
the window, obviously, when you're utilizing the heat strips, right?
But my counterargument is you still install heat strips, correct?
Sometimes, yes.
Is when we're in a situation, say,
the inverter faults and they don't have access to the heat pump
or anything like that, where you definitely, you know,
hey, and you can't get the board, you know what I mean?
I mean, so.
In that situation, do you just have the...
It's like this.
Yeah.
I try to inform the customer and give them the option,
especially if the wiring is already there for like 10kW
or 15kW or something,
give them the option, hey, I can install this,
but your system does not need it.
If I install it, it probably will come on at least during defrost.
And I've had some customers say, I don't even want it.
And sometimes I'm in a situation where
the house is not wired for heat strips.
Oops.
So I offer it and tell them, yes, if the heat pump outside goes out,
you may still have the option for emergency heat.
So, yes, I do offer it as an option when I can.
But what you are proposing is nothing different than
the ignition control board going out on a furnace.
Correct. Yeah. But usually you can, you can manipulate that. Yeah.
You can, you can manipulate that system to work versus the inverter.
Right. Or that can, not always. I'll give you an example.
Most ignition control boards, if the board goes out.
You can't run the furnace.
But you can slap in a White-Rodgers
freaking...
Okay, I get that point.
And just having that
availability, that's still...
And I know they're making different...
They've got different logistics
and distributors now, right?
They're moving locations and things, or have different
locations? I think one of the
shipping companies they were using
had some logistic changes.
Okay.
But I think
that's getting...
Squared away, for me,
my most common product that I'm selling is that standard system.
I have a spare system in my shop.
Boom. Yeah.
I mean, I don't know what I might need off of it, but I've got one.
No, for sure.
And I think if you're carrying any manufacturer, right, regardless,
you should at least have something like that ready to go at all times.
To where you can even, hey,
just pull parts off of it and drop it into other equipment.
By the way, when did we get off ACIQ?
Huh?
How'd we get off on ACIQ, man?
I think he's working for him, getting some free stuff.
Dude.
Hey, I haven't installed an ACIQ product yet.
How about you boys?
I did.
I'm saving all kinds of money on my home water.
Yeah, because you know how you're saving money
because you didn't have to buy the product.
I didn't have to buy it,
but I had to work for like two years on YouTube for free.
Hey, you know what?
You messed up on that one, Rick,
because look at all these...
Go on Instagram.
You see all these...
Yeah, they're Instagram.
Look at this.
I love Instagram because what is it?
I pull the furnace out of the truck.
Boom, it's in place.
It was a 30-second short.
You're done.
I'm saying all these cats, bro, that ain't...
Ain't been in the social content creator space
for a minute, not even months.
They're getting free products now.
Yeah, absolutely.
They're just getting systems handed to them left and right.
I never was on Instagram, though.
I don't even know how you make money on Instagram.
Um, you don't exactly.
I'm not working for free.
I barely, I barely get paid as it is for YouTube.
The only reason to do Instagram, in my opinion,
is to gain influence with the marketers or.
Have it immediately post over to your business page
that you're using and promote your business that way.
Other than that, as far as them actually paying you,
I don't think they pay anybody.
Yeah, now you watch some of the,
does YouTube, or not YouTube, Facebook?
Yeah, they all pay pretty well.
Because, I mean, you know that one guy that's like a West Virginia guy?
Yeah, you see, he's blowing up.
Yeah, he's like...
$100,000.
This girl, and they supposedly cheated, and I don't know if they're...
He's like, I made $75,000 on this.
I'm like, you've got to be kidding me.
What?
What are y'all talking about?
Y'all got to clue me in.
I'm not in the loop.
All right.
Ashley brought it up to me, my wife, right?
It's this dude, tattooed, big kind of guy,
white guy, beard, in an interracial relationship.
And they just do this goofy little, like,
segment on, like, they're like little shorts.
Anyways, he showed how much money he made
because he did a video of how sad he was, right?
And it blew up.
And he showed how much money he made off of it.
First, it was $45,000.
Then it went up to, like, $55,000.
Now it's at, like, $100,000 he's made in 28 days off of that one video.
And it's a 60-second video, bro, off of Facebook.
Man, he must have a ton of followers here.
He's got, I think, in the millions, I bet.
For sure.
I think on YouTube.
Osaka and something.
Dalton.
Dalton, yeah.
Yeah.
He's funny, though.
You know.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's...
He's close to you.
He's right on the Ohio-West Virginia line.
Yeah, I could be down there in probably about five, six hours.
Yeah.
I know he's right outside of Columbia.
Oh, about 9 or 6, 7 or 8 minutes.
Yeah, I know.
Yeah.
Rick likes to drive.
We went down there to ride side-by-side.
So, I mean, I know exactly about where he's at.
Yeah.
It all looks the same, though, down there.
They make money.
Where the money's at on the Instagram side,
and I know you wanted to talk about
some social media stuff there, Kurt.
It's definitely brands, right?
When these brands contact you,
regardless, don't do it for free.
Just say, hey, yeah, sure.
Send them your rates, right?
You're going to make money that way.
It's not going to be the platform paying,
but it'll be the brand partnerships paying for sure.
Yeah, I would say if part of your goal
My goal is to get sponsors and...
Make money in that route.
Instagram's a must.
You've got to have it.
But if that's not your real source of income,
then it ain't worth it to me.
I just post ---- there that I don't give a damn about.
That's what we do.
I'll ghost it for like three weeks, bro,
and then I'll throw something on there.
I'm bitching about Carrier left and right.
Literally, I've been doing startups.
They're like, here, we know you're pretty critical of equipment
because you've been working on a lot of bad junk stuff.
We're going to put you on all this new stuff.
What in the world, man?
Everything is garbage.
It's all busted.
It doesn't start up.
I saw one the other day where they had
a bunch of holes for the thermostat wires,
and I was watching the whole video.
I did that on another video.
That's the reason why I continued.
Then guess what?
I should have kept recording
because I noticed the fan wasn't blowing out,
and I thought, well, it's probably just going backwards
because it's only running first stage.
No, fan blade fell off.
It was loose.
It fell down.
It was down in the bottom.
Like, this stuff is freaking junk.
Did it just fall off?
It was not tight enough.
Did it cause any damage?
Surprisingly, no.
Wow.
It must not have been spinning when it did it.
I mean, in the startup manual,
which one of my guys that likes me to do his startups,
he's like, I want you to fill that all out.
And that's literally in there.
Tighten the set screws on the fan blades.
You know, check all the electrical connections.
They're almost all loose.
Yeah.
I'll get like one tight, tight, and then loose.
And you're like, squeak, squeak, squeak.
And I'm like.
And that's why I don't have a video this week.
I got one I'm working on in a YMCA Dectin unit
that I know it's going to suck to edit,
and that's why I just didn't do it.
And I'm like, eh, I'll get it Monday or Tuesday.
But it's...
Otherwise, I haven't been recording...
Everything I've been recording has either been total disasters,
and it's like I don't even want to show it
because it's not...
I don't know how the income is going to be
because it's going to be like...
Okay, this is busted.
Oh, replace it.
Still don't work.
Don't have enough technical support.
Everything sucks.
Literally.
Yeah, it's just a disaster.
I can't, that's like, yeah, I don't know what
I'm doing because all this ----'s brand new
and it's junk.
Yep.
Dude, there's sometimes when you think you fixed something
and you go back and you realize
that you didn't fix it at all.
I had those days too, man.
I want to, I want to share with you,
but this is one of the worst calls that
you ever want to get.
I installed an air conditioner, an AC unit, like two months ago.
And the homeowner contacts me and sends me pictures
of what looks like black spots on the wall all around her air handler.
Like in a closet?
Like mold?
I'm contractually bound not to say that word.
No, that's the M word I heard about.
You can definitely say it.
You can say it. Just say it.
No, can't say it.
There's only like one type or two types
of mold that'll actually kill you.
So you don't have much to worry about.
So I was like, can I come over there and take a look right away?
So I went over there and I looked and my installers did
not connect the duct work to the top of the air handler.
Brother.
You didn't double check their work?
Man, yes, in my own defense, let me explain.
I mean, wait up your hand, Bruce.
You're fired.
You got to get your head between the air handler
and the door frame to see what I could actually.
I didn't see it.
And the lead installer didn't see it.
It's good for my house.
That's what he said.
Good.
So I feel like.
Yeah.
I feel terrible.
So,
am I going to have to pull the air handler out?
No.
Yes.
You can't pull it down?
You can't pull the duct down?
Yeah,
but I want to treat the wall behind it.
I want to paint it with Kilz and all that stuff.
I have to pull the air handler out,
reinstall it.
All right.
There's a possibility I'm going to have
to have one of her walls painted.
Again, like Rick said, it ain't, it ain't going to kill her.
I mean, this is, but, but really those are,
those are the calls you don't want to get.
No.
And I was like, I had to go in there and reassure the lady.
I found the problem.
We're going to take care of it.
I'm going to take care of you.
We're going to fix this.
Right.
And I mean, that was a worrisome call.
Let me ask you something.
Did you, did you let her know what the.
What the real issue was and why it occurred.
I'm an inspiration.
Like, yeah, see what happens if we have
a little infiltration happening.
Okay, there's a temperature difference between the wall and the material.
So you got to get this whole insulated.
Yeah.
She was standing right behind me and I reached up
and it's attached with a canvas connector.
And I picked up the canvas connector.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
And she saw it.
So I'm like.
Well, I mean, I was going to be honest with her anyway,
but still, there was no, yeah, that was my fault.
There was no hiding that.
Yeah, no.
I just don't trust anybody.
I mean, I just looked at one of our own installs,
and I sent a picture to one of the bosses, and I'm like,
since when can we mount the gas pressure safety switch upside down?
And I'm, you know, the lead installer has been doing it as long as me.
He went to school with me for this stuff,
and he decided to go and install, and I'm like, mm-hmm.
And I said, well, the lead should have caught that.
I said, do I have to fix it?
Are they coming back?
My feeling is you screwed up.
You come back and fix it.
You learn that way.
Wholeheartedly.
But unfortunately, they're not going to.
For my installer, he contracts by himself.
He works for other people also.
Yeah.
You're on your own.
To his credit, he owned up, and he's going to cover his labor in this.
Oh, nice.
So I didn't have to...
Scream or anything like that.
I mean, he's a good guy and he's going to cover the labor.
I'm going to be there to handle what I can.
Is this after you said, hey, I just hit 100,000 subscribers
and if I mentioned who you were and how you hurt my business?
Yeah, like...
This is going online.
I'm putting it all over the place.
At least.
I just felt like in those moments,
when you get those calls, the right thing to do is
own up to it.
I'm going to make it right and make the customer happy, make it right.
I think, to me, that's the difference between
a good business and a bad business.
A bad business is going to say, no, that ain't really my fault.
I wasn't the last person to touch it.
Yeah, you're right.
And what to come lose, I don't understand.
And then to not do anything, the right thing
to do is take responsibility and make it right.
Facts.
We had a situation similar to that.
I did a video a while back.
We'll
Another guy went out, diagnosed the system, yada, yada, yada.
They ended up doing a change out.
Well, the, uh, we ended up putting the wrong size equipment in, right?
be
So two years later, you know what I mean?
right
Uh, they always had issues.
I never went to the job, you know,
after the install or anything, it was, um, another guy
would go down there, check it out.
back.
No, it's all good.
Dah, dah, dah.
Well, then they ended up getting fed up with that ----.
Sent, hired another company to come in.
They're like, yeah, it's too small.
So we ended up eating the cost
on the equipment, obviously, and put in
the right size equipment. You know what I mean?
We literally just
asked them to pay the difference
for the equipment that it would have
cost anyways.
But we did all the labor and everything.
You know what I mean?
It was like $500 or something.
I know. I was just thinking, it was like $600, $700,
$800 difference.
Interferencing.
Yeah, so.
Like you said,
You got to own that ----, man.
Good on you for doing that whole thing.
Well, thank you.
It's one of those moments you just don't want.
Damn.
Do it again, Rick.
Do it again.
My kid called me in the middle of it,
and I'm like, I'm on live with another channel.
Huh?
It's like, you're a genius.
This is what I'm talking about.
So, yeah.
That's a good picture.
Look at that.
You should post that on Instagram, brother.
I'm on TV.
Look at that.
All right.
Well, you know, so how has
your life changed since you hit 100,000 subs, Kurt?
Are you still talking to people like us?
Are more people recognizing you on the streets, bro?
No, more than normal.
You've been getting free dinners now, right?
At Golden Corral?
Yeah, ----.
No, to Sizzler, brother.
To Sizzler.
I'm starting to learn.
Getting out of speeding tickets, even.
Yeah.
Tell us what it's really like.
But you worked for it, man.
How does it feel?
I mean, that's exciting.
I mean, you missed posts.
What was it, like, every day to every other day at the minimum?
Man, I've been doing almost every day out of a year.
It was 365.
Except the leap year, but yeah.
Math and math.
I might miss.
Two days.
Yeah, that's why you hit it.
What a dude.
I do one a week.
That's about it.
When he doesn't do it, though.
There's some missing person reports put out there for him.
He's going to do a wellness check on the HVAC guy.
Who's that?
You mean, y'all are ******* confused.
People will contact me.
Are you okay?
Like when I went to South Carolina, I was gone for three days.
Some of the people didn't see that post.
Yeah, when you made a post, yeah.
And they were, like, reaching out on Instagram and stuff and saying,
man, you okay?
I haven't heard from you in a while.
Oh.
Oh, man.
Like, do you check on your family this often?
You know what I mean?
Like, I ain't talked to my mom in about a month.
You know what I mean?
There you go.
I'll tell you, the only strange part to me, and it's okay.
Okay.
Like, I go to neighboring towns or something,
and I know the people around me don't know me.
But, like, if I go to a Harbor Freight or something like that,
somebody might walk right up to me and start talking to me
like they're my best friend.
And that happens.
Do they bring you Riley treats, bro?
Um, mm-mm.
Thank you very much.
I don't know if I can take this from you, but thanks.
Um...
I've never had any awkward, but there was this one guy.
who
Never had it happen, but there
was this one time in the back of the van.
Yeah, there was this one guy that was a fan,
saw my vehicle in the parking lot,
and came in the building to try to find me.
Oh, God.
I was at Publix.
Oh, Lord.
you.
Where is he?
Is there a car?
But he's a local.
He was a local guy.
I was excited.
He wanted to talk to me personally to get an estimate out there.
I mean, he's a good guy.
That sounds like the guy that was on call that called me on Saturday.
He's like, hey, I got a beer tap, and it's getting foam,
and I'm not getting beer on one and two,
and then all of a sudden it comes out solid,
and I'm like, I just changed a pump out there,
and I don't do many of those.
I'm like, I remember Chris talking about some of this stuff.
I said, hold on a second.
Let me see if I can get a hold of him.
Called Chris.
I'm like, dude, you got a moment to talk to one of my guys about this?
He's like, yeah, sure.
He's like.
Oh, Chris, hey, what's up?
Oh, Lord.
I made his world, you know?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's funny.
Talk it out.
I got other people, too.
Yeah.
Well, I got this other guy.
I'm selling packages, man.
I'll get you on the phone with him for $20.
Whoa.
Hey, what's that thing called?
Like Cameo or something?
Where they, like, call?
You heard that new guy that delivers bad news?
No.
I don't know if it's a thing or what.
Supposedly, he'll call people up.
And he'll be like, hey, is this you?
And they'll be like, yeah.
And he goes, I was hired to tell you a bunch of bad news.
Your wife's cheating on you.
She's down here, blah, blah.
And I don't know if it's true or not.
And then the guy goes, who is this?
And he goes, it's Bob from Bob Tells Bad News.
And he goes, and this is what?
And he just posts that.
And it's like, I don't know if it's real, but it's funny.
It's all good.
Like a bit?
Yeah, kind of, but I don't think it's a bit.
I don't know.
Maybe they're going to let you hire somebody like that.
I wanted to, after one of the things
one of y'all said, I wanted to tell you about
I had a girl that was a dispatcher
working for me at one time. We had
a couple of technicians install
me trying to do some work
and she was running the office
and we basically didn't leave
on the best of terms.
Well, a couple weeks ago she called me.
She said, I know you
I know you might
I don't know.
She was like, I know you might want to hang up
and you can hang up in my face.
I understand, but I'm living in this apartment complex
and maintenance man is here and he
don't know how to fix my air conditioner.
Can you talk to me?
Oh, Lord.
And I was like.
Why not?
Why not?
You know?
And this poor guy was a rookie maintenance man,
and he had a low voltage problem.
And everything I said just went, whew, whew, whew.
Oh, man.
Just run your wire out the window, dude.
You're good.
It ends up in like...
I was like, you know what?
Just get the phone back to her, and she took the phone back,
and I said, well, I got a window unit in my shop I'll lend you.
Thank you.
Oh, man.
Curt damn near fell over on that one, Rick.
You better be careful.
I know.
I thought it was kind of funny.
Mine just went tickety, tickety, tickety.
How long ago was this?
And the kid was born when?
End.
What do you mean he came out
with a little wrench and a ball cap on his head?
What in the world?
Oh, my.
He's wearing an ABIQ t-shirt right now.
That's good.
I love that.
That's funny.
Oh, man.
That's real, though.
I didn't even touch the comments over here, man.
We've just been going at it.
That's good stuff.
Yeah, I'm...
Well, Jake, I've been meaning to invite you for a long time, man.
I appreciate it.
Yeah.
A long time or a long time?
A little bit of both.
It's okay.
That's like one of them hot water heaters.
It's hot, but you've got to heat it.
It's a hot water heater.
It got heated, and now it's hot.
It's a hot water heater.
I got mine for free.
And it works really good.
Somebody said something about that in the comments.
I got mine for free and it works really good.
It's probably the best one I've ever had.
It is the best one, except when it stays on heat pump only mode.
And then it takes a shower for like six hours
and it just runs out of hot water.
But you put it on kind of like
a hybrid mode where it does electric strips and the heat pump.
That thing kicks butt.
I literally, I can prove it with my...
EcoFlow panel, that it dropped it to a third of what it used to be.
All right.
How many more brand deals can you throw in there on that one?
I haven't got nothing new lately.
So, I mean, I was supposed to get one for my daughter.
So we're working on that.
You know what, though?
You know what?
Speaking of brand deals and new ambassadors here.
Rick, I got a bone to pick with you.
What'd you do now?
You had so much ---- to say about these jobber ambassadors,
and now the host of this show over here is doing nothing
but flaunting jobber.
What do you got to say about that?
You know what's funny is I have a friend who is in the court system,
and he sent me a quote from this guy.
A jobber link?
He's a judge. He's a judge, okay?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And so he sent me the email this guy sent him.
And in this email.
I've never seen this jobber crap, so this thing breaks it down.
City tax, county tax, EPA tax.
The wording was outrageous.
I mean, it was like, I'm like, this isn't normal speak.
I'm like, and then I see something at the bottom,
something about jobber.
And I'm like, ah.
So when you buy in on it, they give
you like 50 ways to charge more money
and that way you can break it all down.
So something seemed really wild.
Break it down.
To me, it's not been my experience.
I don't know.
I never even heard of this guy before.
So I'm like, ah, whatever.
School him up.
He wanted like $3,000 or $4,000
to replace an evaporator and a line set.
And I'm like, I'm like.
Like, we could probably do it cheaper than that.
I'm like, you know, and we're overpriced, so.
So.
Keeping it real, that's all.
That's all we're doing.
Hell, I've asked it to the boss right in the middle of the meeting.
I'm like, I sent one of my friends to you, and you quoted him how much?
$15,000, $16,000?
I'm like, what?
Damn.
I'm like, right in the middle of the meeting, too.
I didn't care.
I was like, whatever.
Whatever.
I'm like, good Lord.
You don't make ---- on us, but you freaking
are going to charge them guys.
We don't make nothing on service.
We make our money on install, obviously.
I don't, I don't, hey, I'm barely getting by, okay?
I can't barely make ends meet.
That's because you live in Florida, man.
No.
It's expensive down there.
I'm being your boss here, okay?
This is what they'll say.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, right.
I'm barely making ends meet, you know what I mean?
Meanwhile, driving a big old jacked-up Goody, you know,
getting additions, buying a house on the lake.
No, no, no.
It's tough out here.
It's tough.
Oh, I know they're good to me.
I can't complain, but I'm just saying it's just,
I, I, now it's like, man,
who do you even tell somebody?
It's like, where can they get you something a good price?
I don't want to do it.
You know?
And it's like, I don't even,
I couldn't even hire some people that I work with to do stuff for other
people.
And it's like, nobody wants to do no side work no more.
It's crazy.
I will tell you, just getting people
to do just regular manual labor work, period.
Yeah.
Oh, literally.
I can't get anybody to help me with the yard.
Really?
I mean, it's not like I'm broke.
I'm willing to pay them.
I mean, come on.
You need $10, $15?
You can do a good job.
Just a little something, something.
I got some candy back here.
Come here, I got a baby in the rear, too.
Oh, Lord.
I got a dispatcher in the back of the van.
He agreed to help me trim the shrubs and cut the grass.
The day he's supposed to cut the grass, he's supposed to come early.
I was like, man, can you come late?
My wife wants to sleep late.
Didn't text me back, didn't show up, no nothing.
And the next day, I'm like, dude, I thought you were coming.
He goes, we try to work early, it gets hot.
And I'm like, what time do you want him there?
I'm 11, but still, man.
I work in the heat, too.
I work in the heat, too.
I mean, you're going to work two hours a day?
I'm in South Georgia.
Just plug it in.
I know.
Plug it in.
Hey, is that that pretty girl you're married to?
Put her in front of the camera.
Come on.
I haven't seen her in a while.
You better, you better.
You better watch your mouth.
Well, is that that old hoe, that old skank?
Which one would you rather hear?
Which would you rather hear?
Hold on.
Oh, there's one here.
Here.
Is that Ashley?
Can she hear me?
No, she can't.
It's actually my daughter.
Oh, okay bastards. Oh, whatever.
I was going to tell Ashley. Thank you for being my 100
subscriber because it was her. Yeah. Yeah.
I've made a, she was like, I was like,
Kurt's right there. He's right there.
She was like, well, do you want me to, uh, I was like,
yeah, let's do it. And we, we, we filmed it for him and it was, yeah.
Yeah. I'll make sure to let her know
She did.
I literally sent Jake a picture of $99,999.
999.
And the next thing I see is him.
He sent me this video of his wife subscribing.
Yeah.
And then checking my channel again, it was at $100,000.
Then she unsubscribed.
I'm subscribed.
That'd been funny.
Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
That'd been funnier than I'll get out.
Oh, wait.
Oh, you've got to be faster than that one.
You've got to be quicker than that.
The guy with the dollar bill.
That's funny.
Yeah.
Thank you everybody.
Sorry, boys.
I'm over here.
Oh, my God.
He's wearing underwear.
What in the world?
These are just my workout shorts.
Oh, got it.
It's a little faith over fear.
You know what I'm saying?
Oh, wow.
That is awesome.
Because I'm a believer.
Christ, man.
Let's go.
Christ is king.
Never said you wasn't.
Was it?
Um, what was that?
Yeah, no, that was pretty awesome.
She did the, uh, no, I'm glad.
Did they contact you yet?
The tubes?
Do you get like the plaque?
Like, do they ask for any of that stuff or what?
There's a whole little story behind that.
Okay.
Let's hear it.
Um, as I was approaching a hundred thousand, I started Googling.
How do you get the silver plaque?
What's the.
Got to have 100,000 real subscribers.
You cannot have copyright strikes
or violate their rules and regulation for like a year.
You have to be active.
And I'm like, I think I qualify for all that.
And then they said like 10 days,
12 days that they should review.
They will give me a code so I can send off for the plaque if I qualify.
Okay.
You have to actually contact them for it?
Peace.
Probably like the Hollywood Star Walk of Fame where, like,
you got to pay to actually have your name on it.
You know what I mean?
Well, no, they...
I was Googling about it, and what I read is that they will send you
a notification with a link and a place to give them your address.
Oh, nice.
Have you received that email at all?
Not yet.
So how many subscribers do you have, Kurt?
You really want to know?
Oh, I'm sorry.
Let's see.
This is just from the other day now.
All right.
All right.
Where we at?
What are we looking like?
Let's all do this.
Hey, Rick, get yours out.
Yeah, hold on.
I'm right there.
It's like a fence.
Can you see that?
It's too blurry, isn't it?
What's it looking like?
100,595.
What's your channel name?
I am.
Who is this guy?
Bye.
You got 2,100 videos, man.
Big dog, big dog.
Good Lord.
I've only got like 570 or 80 some, maybe six, but.
I'm going to say it like they used to talk about my granddad.
Hey, you're live right now.
He is prolific.
You're live.
It says you're live.
Oh.
Check that out.
I wonder what would happen if I push that button.
There's 69 people watching us.
Is that good or bad?
I mean, I never kept up with.
Man, that's pretty cool though.
That's exciting, man.
Let's go.
$12 a month? Holy cow.
What's up?
That's how he just bought.
Speaking of buying lake houses, you know.
Kid, man, I got like a $4.99 and then a $9.99.
That's right.
Thank you.
He goes for the meat, man.
Give me all you got.
Well, they're true.
All
We were going to say something about Jabra, right?
That went way out of the window a long time ago.
Speaking of Jabra, go ahead.
And, uh, hey, um...
I'm a Jabra user.
right.
I believe in Jabra.
Do you use Jabra?
Really?
It's clean.
It's like just so simplistic.
You know what I mean?
We hire people and they take care of it.
Well, you know what?
When you decide to start your own company, okay, and you need a CRM.
Well, I'm going to tell you like this.
This is the first CRM that has actually helped me.
Boom.
I've been struggling with QuickBooks Online for 15,
16 years now, and I just was getting
to the point where I was fed up.
And the honest truth is, I reached out to Jabra,
and I was like, looky here, I'm tired
of what QuickBooks is doing,
making it hard for me to just fill out an estimate or an
invoice.
invoice.
Um,
If y'all want to pursue a partnership, let me try out your product.
And they let me try it, and I liked it.
Let's run with it.
You know what, though?
I told him in the beginning, Rick,
he could have at least used my discount code.
He still would have got a free 14-day free trial,
and I would have got a kickback,
and then he would have got his own link.
Kurt just, Kurt didn't even care.
I didn't know, man.
I didn't know.
I didn't know.
He didn't know.
He don't want you to know.
I was an equal opportunity discriminator
because I told him.
He's up here.
He's like, you know,
put the hat on her and get that ICQ.
I was like,
you see this one?
Pulls up the bottle of water, ACIQ on it.
But...
Wipes his hat off with the ICQ towel.
That was the whole thing.
Wait, are those new glasses?
The frames are ICQ.
Thank you.
The LCDs?
Yeah.
All right, those are customized.
Optimized.
To hold them tight?
My, my dog got the chewing on him,
got him all buggered up and I put some heat shrink
on that one right there.
Wow.
That's custom, brother.
Back in the day, used to be in the middle of the bridge.
Now we're doing it on the ears.
Cheers.
So I put some heat shrink on it so it wouldn't hurt my ears so much.
Geez.
You know, you made it to the big times
when you got to put heat shrink on your glasses.
This is.
We're going places.
Did you get the rest of the wheels for the house trailer yet?
We're moving as soon as I get these other set of wheels.
That's terrible.
You're terrible, man.
Oh, oh, oh, I wanted to give y'all
and maybe some of the people in the comments
a chance to name my alter ego that y'all hear sometimes.
Y'all know the guy that talks like
this when he's leaving a message on the telephone?
We talking about my cunkle.
We need to come up with a name for this character.
So y'all help me come up with a name for...
And for this character that y'all hear me talking,
talking to when I'm checking messages,
Seymour,
Seymour,
Seymour Butts.
I know I've seen more butts than you.
Thank you.
Heavy weights joke.
If you guys remember from the,
I'm a,
I'm younger nineties.
Great movie.
Ben Stiller.
Seymour Butts.
That's a good one.
I don't know.
Let me see.
Oh, Rick.
What's that?
It was.
Give him a name.
.
This guy?
.
His alter ego.
.
.
The messages.
.
But I thought you mean you actually had somebody
.
.
.
that was, like, had that accent.
.
.
Or, I'm not sure if it was.
.
Do you not want...
.
.
We can give your character an accent, too.
.
.
.
.
You're doing a little too hard to make it sound a little fake.
.
.
.
You got to just do it just a little bit.
.
.
You go too far with it, then they know you're not from here.
.
Cheers.
What was it?
It's funny as it picks up about West
Virginia and ends somewhere about where you is
and the next thing you know you're in Florida and everybody's like
hey, give me your money. All of it.
But hey.
Dang.
Oh my god.
So, um,
That or they don't even speak English, one or the other.
But yeah.
To my fellow Southerners,
he gives the best Appalachian accent for one of them foreigners.
I mean, he's up there.
He actually lives up there near the Canadians.
Don't tell nobody.
Aw, man, I'm over an hour and a quarter away from Toledo.
Nope.
I'm down south.
All right, we have a suggestion here.
All right, we got a couple of them.
Uncle Clem.
Okay.
Oh, yeah, that was one of our Redneck Life people.
Really?
There's a game called Redneck Life.
They probably don't sound down that way, but we got it.
We play it.
And here's another one, Cleva's.
Uncle Scratch.
Thank you very much.
Who was that guy from, like, the early 60s, like, Western?
You know who Festus is?
How about Cletus?
Cleatus said, now, wasn't he on the Dukes of Hazzard?
Wasn't he the mechanic?
Yeah, he was the mechanic.
Yep.
Thank you.
Well, I'm sure y'all remember Gomer Pyle.
Solid.
Surprise, surprise, surprise.
I'm surprised.
Yep.
My God, Andy.
Thank you, Andy.
Oh, man.
Gomer Pyle.
You know that fella was an opera singer?
Or you know.
That's what I was thinking when you said Michael.
Michael, my uncle.
Yeah, I mean my aunt.
Right there with the refrigerator running.
Great catch up.
Well, guys, I do want to try to tune in to the news.
Thank you so much.
I got a scratch.
I need a scratch, and I got to go.
I want to see if the world's going to be burning down.
Dang.
I can go ahead and just tell you it is.
It's falling apart every day.
I feel like, oh, my.
Just spin a thing.
Who we bombing today?
Oh, Lord.
How long until the dollar crashes?
Yeah, that's great.
You know, they've been talking about
this dollar crashing for decades and centuries.
Like, it's just been the same revolving.
We're $40 trillion in debt right now.
Gold's at $4,800 an ounce.
You know.
That's why a hamburger's like $12.
I mean, you know, it's getting better.
Where are you getting your hamburgers at?
The fair.
They wanted $12 for a corn dog, foot-long corn dog,
and $8 for a regular corn dog.
I was like, holy cow.
You know what this reminds me of?
When I went to Orlando in a convention center.
Don't you talk about O-Town.
I could not help but notice that the Pepsis were like $6 a piece.
I was like, huh.
Well, you were right by the convention center.
You can get three for $3.75, and y'all are selling them in here for $8.
You've never been to Cedar Point, then.
I'm
That's in my town, too.
starting
My state.
The state.
My state, Cedar Point.
Well, before we hop off,
has anybody got any extravagant work plans coming up this week?
Yes.
What have we got?
to
What's the big deal?
speak
Ripping out a mobile home system,
air handler blowing down into the network on a single wide.
I'm putting in another mobile home system, but this time it's
now.
a heat pump coil with a side discharge condenser ACIQ heat pump instead
of straight cool electric heat.
Nice, nice.
Is it a split or a package unit?
It's a split.
It's going to maintain the same structure.
So it'll be a downflow?
Downflow, yes.
Nice.
I'm kind of looking forward to that one.
I've got a four-ton changeout.
Thursday, I might do a mini-split myself Wednesday.
Dang, big dog.
That's a, that's a, yeah.
Have you done a downflow with the ACIQ yet?
No.
So, what, actually what this is,
is a downflow air handler with a heat pump coil on it.
A regular mobile home heat pump coil.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
So.
Um, there's, it might have an ECM motor on it
or something like that, but, um,
it's just a regular mobile home air handler and a regular coil.
It's just going to have the ACIQ, um, heat pump on it instead.
Nice. I love it. So it'll be your first one of those.
Packaging also ACIQ.
Um, package unit.
I'm not doing a package unit.
I'm doing a, um, a four-ton split.
Okay.
That's going to be a split.
Yes, it's ACIQ and the mini split.
This one's going to be kind of weird
because it has a package unit supplying air to an enclosed garage.
They bring the ductwork up the wall.
Yeah.
Over the top.
And they put in a drop ceiling.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
Like, all right.
This is adding up.
First of all, this room don't need but about 9,000 BTUs,
and they got a two-ton package unit on it.
Oh, brother. Yeah.
Yeah.
But with a package unit, that's as small as you could get.
So we're going back in with a one-ton, single-zone,
regular wall-mount mini-split for the whole room,
getting rid of the package unit.
His registers are still going to be in the drop ceiling.
Are you demoing the duct as well?
Or just the exterior or interior?
Just leaving it.
Because they run it on the side wall.
I told them I'm going to leave what's up there.
We can turn off the registers
and we can cap off any access to what's outside,
but it's going to be terminated up there.
Yeah.
And I told them they're responsible for the soffit.
So it should be easy.
No more four-hour job tops.
Boom, boom, boom.
Speaking of, is that going to be ACIQ?
Is that an Essentials? Is that going to be Essentials?
It's an Essentials, yes.
Solid, solid.
I, too, will be installing an ACIQ MiniSplit 2-zone Essentials system.
Cool deal.
What about you, Ray?
Actually, they want me to switch out the one
that I just installed in the garage.
Oh, gosh.
She's like, we got to get that out of there. I want you to do it.
I'm like, it's July. It's kind of hot, you know?
Like, I only use this thing twice.
I'm like, so...
Yeah.
Tell them to send to me what they want to send to you
because I've still got this POS boxed up in my house.
Point of service?
Yes, it has a very good point of service.
Yeah, I know.
I do not like it.
You've hated that thing since day one.
You know something?
And companies now are producing products
that are built for what I want to do with this house.
I can have a regular air handler.
And a mini split head run off the same, sir.
I can cool my bedroom down
to what I want without having to cool off the rest
of the house, have a zone system.
That's just a really cool option.
So that is probably in my near future.
Yeah.
You need to do that ASAP because not too many people are, uh,
are seeing those things, man.
No, it's pretty cool.
Pretty cool.
I like it.
That's exciting.
Wait a minute.
Cooter.
These are more possible names for, I don't know, I kind of like Cooter.
Jim Bob Cooter.
Great coach.
You ready for them dogs, Kurt?
Yeah, I am.
And in fact, if y'all cannot see it,
I'm wearing my Georgia Bulldogs long-sleeved t-shirt
because y'all might not know it, but they got it.
Owns his house, runs an AC company, and he keeps it cold in his house.
Oh.
Didn't you just say it gets hot in your bedroom?
Well,
Hey, that's a little bit intimate.
All right, calm down.
You guys are talking about it.
I'm just listening.
I'm just saying my wife gets hot in her bedroom, and she likes it cold.
Oh.
Well, good for you.
There's a fix.
AC.
AC.
There's a company right down in Florida that could come up to you and
install that for you.
I know a guy.
I think he's a guy.
He's got long hair, but yeah.
Yeah, we've got to do it.
You know.
It's okay.
He's got a beard, too, but you know all this testosterone.
Yeah, all those shots out there, you just don't know nowadays.
I mean, look at Brittany Griner.
Am I right?
You know what I mean?
Okay, who's Brittany Griner?
Yeah, I ain't sure.
Okay.
I don't do sports.
You don't?
No, she's the WNBA chick, but sounds like a dude, looks like a dude.
Kind of like the whole WNBA thing with their...
Okay, I'm just thinking about...
The women's basketball thing?
I'm just thinking...
Yeah.
There's only two women to play on that team, I thought.
Sigh.
The two girls from Indiana.
No.
No.
I mean, that's all we hear about.
Yeah, they don't like them.
The cute blonde and her friend.
What the hell?
Anyways, there's a whole thing. I've watched a lot of sports stuff
and there's this whole thing with the guy Enes Kanter
going to try out for the WNBA
because he's like, I identify as a female.
And their big thing is like,
we let
anybody who identifies.
You know what I mean?
And he's like a big-ass dude.
So.
Dude, I thoroughly
enjoyed. I will tell people that
the possible fourth
guest who was only notified
about five minutes before we went on
we went live was Gil
Cavey. Did he show up? I want you to know
that he snubbed us and he's not
holding him in standby.
He snubbed us.
And I'm
Speaking of
being snubbed, I think the
whole HVAC industry
was just snubbed.
I'm Milwaukee.
Hot take.
Hot take.
Yeah.
Did they have any HVAC techs in their event recently?
No.
Were there any?
There was no HVAC tools fully presented.
But I will say this, Kurt.
For someone who has been a diehard Bleeds Red Milwaukee guy
for quite some time,
and I know you were not a Milwaukee guy until recently,
and you got to go to Pipeline last year.
I was very jealous, okay?
He was secretly hating you.
Yeah, uh, matter of fact, this is actually a sabotage episode, um,
Oh.
like, no, I, I will say, like, at least, like,
you and Adrian got to go, and that was, like,
the first time, like, any H, like,
dedicated HVAC guys got to go, and I think the first time they
kind of highlighted some HVAC, uh, tools, but,
um, I did, I thought you guys were gonna go,
we're gonna go again, to be honest.
Well, you think it's because they didn't have HVAC-specific tools
at the event that they didn't invite anybody?
Yeah, because if you look at it, they had a large amount of,
like, mechanics tools, so there was a lot of mechanical guys.
There's always tool channels that end up getting in there,
and then carpentry is always a big one.
And then there just wasn't really—and plumbing.
But, like, there's, like, the same core group that goes,
and then there was you guys.
Guys, like I said last year,
I think you two are the only HVAC guys that kind of.
Ever went, and they showcased the pump, the recovery,
and the press tool, which were really it, you know?
Speaking of which, this is an opportunity.
How do you feel about that recovery machine?
I do love it.
Did you get it for free?
I paid for it.
No.
It is, I did get it, yes.
But I do utilize it.
The battery's great. I'm just working
on a little residential split system, so it's plenty enough for me.
I've seen the same thing.
Does it have a backup in case the battery goes dead?
It's got like a little check valve, so you just take the battery out.
It doesn't have AC-DC, no.
No.
No, but that Forge battery, I ran it for about 30 minutes,
and it still had two bars on it, and that was me just running it.
And there was 12.
Yeah.
So for runtime sake,
I think it was,
it was pretty good.
I have not drained
the battery completely pulling refrigerant out of a
system yet.
Yeah.
That's what I would claim was five,
a five ton system or 10,
15 minutes or something like that.
It was like 10 pounds of refrigerant or something,
but it's good in five minutes.
Five minutes.
Well, guys, why don't we go ahead and sign off
and say hello or goodbye or sign off and
call it a night.
One sentence, man.
You need to have a better sign off than that, Kurt.
You need to have a design sign.
Go ahead.
Well, again, I just want to say congratulations, man.
The 100K.
You're like part of a pretty exclusive club of HVAC guys.
There's only about five or six that I can think of, right?
You know?
What about that plumber guy that likes to show his belly?
Who's that?
