Hey guys we are live believe it or not.
I'm trying to go live on the Instagram as
almost like it is just fixing to start on the Instagram today.
I do have something to speak
about that. All right there we go on the Instagram.
I've had a couple of things
that have may have gone wrong
in a couple videos that I made public about
My friend's over at ACIQ, and we're going to talk about that.
There's some developing news in that.
And you may notice in the link in the description,
I'm starting to work with Jobber, and there's
a really good reason for that.
It's not just because they reached out to me.
I actually reached out to them because I was having
so much trouble with, I mean, QuickBooks, terrible,
trouble.
Taking 30 minutes just to do an invoice,
30 minutes just to do an estimate.
The app's not working right.
So I try to do it over on the web platform
and it doesn't work very well with my iPad.
So it's just like 30 minutes
on every job wasted trying to do just an invoice.
So I reached out to Jobber.
I'm going to go ahead and give them a shout out and said,
hey, I'm having all this trouble
with QuickBooks.
Folks, if y'all can streamline my process.
and make it nicer for me and easier I will gladly talk about
your platform and they have more than
stepped up to the plate
so hats off to Jobber they're doing they've got a really good CRM out
there and I'm just starting to use it
and I may talk about it a little bit more in the near future
but they do really they have a good CRM platform they
do and it has streamlined my data entry a lot
And not just that, it has made my own.
My estimates, my proposals look more professional
because I can add pictures of
exactly what I'm selling or installing.
That's really nice. I like that. But let me jump into
something y'all have seen on my channel.
Some board failures from some of the ACIQ equipment.
The first one I want to talk about
is that top discharge condenser that kind of looks like the
Like the old train run trues, if you know what I'm talking about.
That one, I'll share with you what was shared with me.
ACIQ
ACIQ's executives sat down with the engineers
for the company that makes that piece of equipment,
showed them my video,
and they're going to re-engineer that particular condenser,
simply because it was just way over-engineered.
A straight cool condenser did not need all that high-tech stuff on it.
And so I'm glad to learn that, yeah,
Yeah.
People are watching and people are listening,
so if we have complaints and we voice them,
yes, they're taking them into account
and actually doing something about it,
trying to make a better product. So that was really nice.
I'm glad to see that they're doing
that. Going back to the Jobber,
Trial by error, mostly error,
uses Jobber and he uses Jobber
exclusively. I got to tell you, I am not lying when I tell you this.
I have been having trouble getting my estimates approved.
It's like I've been dropping estimates after estimates,
new installs day after day after day.
In a 60-day period, I probably dropped 45 of them,
and I wasn't getting approval.
This is going to sound like an exaggeration,
but since I started using Jobber,
I have won every estimate that I've submitted a proposal for.
And the only thing different is the presentation. That's it.
That's it.
That's the only thing different is the presentation.
Prices haven't changed.
The equipment hasn't changed.
What I'm actually installing in the labor, everything's the same.
I'm just using a more professional CRM to present
and show what I'm working on.
And it helps.
It has significantly helped me.
So I'm happy to talk about Jobber.
They're doing a real good job for me.
So, yeah.
Check out the link in the description.
It really does help out a business, makes them look more professional.
It has in my case, anyway.
It looks like Rommel Batten.
Man, he's almost swimming with the fishes.
He's right here nine miles off the Gulf of Mexico.
Y'all had a tropical storm come through,
but it seems like the last couple of years,
even here in South Georgia,
we've kind of been dodging bullets when it comes to hurricane season.
South Louisiana, man.
Y'all are in the bullseye every year.
Ammonia guy.
Okay, there's a comment here.
Tank's Garage, he's an ammonia guy.
That means he's doing huge commercial refrigeration,
probably like in chicken plants and stuff like that,
where they use a giant tank of ammonia for their refrigeration.
Thank
I've worked on a couple of those,
and the only good thing about
that is you can smell when you have a leak.
Thank you for, I got another comment,
and because it's coming from Chicago, I'm going to mention
this. Michael Wheatley out of Chicago loves the videos.
you.
Guys, I'm probably going to Chicago
for AHR. AHR is Air Conditioning, Heating,
and Refrigeration Convention. It's one of the largest
trade shows in the world, and it's going to be at the end of January,
first of February next year.
I'm very likely going to be there, just I have no agenda,
nobody's paying me to come, I might go visit some people
that have been nice to me, but I'm looking to go.
I might go to that award show beforehand, and I might not,
but I'm looking to go to Chicago this year.
Last time the AHR was in Chicago, I didn't go because it happens
to be planned right during the coldest part of the year.
anywhere in the country.
That can be a bad time, especially for a single-man operation.
If I get really busy,
it kind of makes it hard for me to go because I can't just walk away
from some of the busiest part of the year for three or four days.
It's hard to do that,
but I'm going to try to go to Chicago.
It looks like ACIQ is in the comments.
Send me an invite. Are we going to have some kind
of after party or something like that
I'm in Chicago. I'm down.
The last time I...
I've partied a little bit with the ACIQ folks up in Ohio.
We had a good time.
And those are some good people out there.
We were just talking about some of their equipment.
And yes, there are some problems.
And it's going to be with new technology or whatnot.
But I mean, there's some good people running that company up there.
They are great customer service.
I would call them friends.
Good people.
We have another viewer here, this time from Orlando.
That happens to be where the last AHR I attended was, was in Orlando.
I missed Las Vegas.
It got cold, and they canceled my flight out of Albany.
So, yeah, I stayed home during the Las Vegas trip.
I should have taken a flight out of Albany before the weather moved in.
We saw it coming.
My buddy Carlos
from way down south.
is in the comments. By way down south,
I'm talking about Naples, Florida, where I come from. People
in Florida are not considered southerners sometimes.
That might be news for you.
Well, I have heard about the Cuban coffees.
We have a comment here from Miami.
Come over here
and drink yourself a Cuban coffee.
I've only heard about them, to tell you the truth.
One of my favorite comedians is Fluffy,
and he did a little skit about drinking a Cuban coffee.
He ordered a big cup of coffee, and yeah, it was a Cuban coffee.
If you don't know what it is,
you're going to have to Google it, but it's strong.
They serve it to you in like a little shot glass.
It's that strong.
But yeah, another thing I wanted to speak of about the ACIQ products,
I had to work on one of the extreme air handlers.
And, um...
It had a board fail, and in all honesty,
it's not crazy to have a board fail.
I carry boards for the roof gas packs
that I work on all the time.
I carry some in stock because they fail so frequently.
It is not just an ACIQ thing.
They got a lot of criticism after that video
because it was an ACIQ product.
Same thing happens to other products.
At least it does in my opinion.
The bad part about that one was it was an influential family
and they got mad at me.
I mean, really?
I mean, that's what it was.
But hey, boards fail.
I am learning which boards I need to keep in stock.
And I think ACIQ has like a kit.
Like if you're selling their products,
they'll send you this kit or you order a kit that contains like...
boards for the equipment that you are selling
so that you can have some in stock and that's what
I need to do on some of these.
There's a comment here speaking about those boards
from No Nick Nick.
I know a guy who repairs circuit boards for HVAC unit. He does well.
I have repaired a few.
In fact, I've repaired a bunch of defrost boards where the relay on the
defrost board breaks off or makes a bad connection.
I have soldered those back together
and put them back together.
I've done it for a customer over the weekend who it was during the
winter so he needed his defrost
or else I would have just straight wired it until we can come
back with a new board. But yeah you can repair some
of these boards. In fact the one that I
took off I pulled it off
and looked at it to see if I could repair it because
I lost my low voltage through the board
and sometimes you can trace the lines out through
the board to the connections and I didn't.
I didn't find anything wrong. A word from ACIQ.
They have tons of parts but they are developing full kits.
Now I don't always sell the extreme
version that is a very nice air handler.
I like the version that is one step beneath it
so I need to get me a kit for those.
Those boards are common in what I'm selling, and it'd be nice
to have them in stock so I could repair my customers same day.
Apparently, Ted Cook is in the comments without being in the comments.
Ted Cook's up in South Carolina.
He services an area where my uncle
and some of my cousins live near the Charlotte area.
I haven't watched one of his videos lately, but he's also a YouTuber.
But, yeah, um...
I did want to kind of address ACIQ and their products,
and I got a lot of criticism because
I'm still supporting them because we've had, what, two failures?
I mean, come on, as many as I have installed,
to have a couple of failures like that, that's
no biggie.
I still believe in what these products are.
In fact, I just installed one where we replaced a furnace
and installed a heat pump with no
heat strips.
They're not going to have any trouble come this winter.
I may need to go back and hook it up so that it knows when it's going
through defrost and turn off the blower, a little something like that.
But I believe in what these products can do.
They can provide heat, a heat pump without heat strips,
which is something that the American manufacturers have just
been ignoring for 20-something years or longer.
Their high efficiency systems just, to this day.
The dealer that I left, a rude dealer, does not offer
a high-efficiency heat pump that does not need heat strips in my area.
And I think that's crazy.
It is absolutely insane.
When mini splits and the technology in mini splits has
been doing it for 20-something longer years to just
for the American manufacturers to act like.
That doesn't matter to us.
It does matter.
Our electric bill does matter.
It matters more now than it ever has before.
And I just feel like they're being conceited by ignoring us.
And that's part of the reason I support ACIQ
because of what they're selling.
They're selling products that people want.
It's not just a name.
It is the idea behind the product.
It is.
A heat pump that can replace a furnace that is safer,
that doesn't need heat strips, that
lowers your electric bill,
not just during the five-month period that you get your SEER
rating, but during the winter, too.
And if you don't know, the SEER rating
only covers five months of cooling.
So if you have a 19 20 SEER system
and it still has 15kW in the air handler, yeah, well, all
those savings go right out the window
as soon as it gets below 40 degrees.
The ACIQ equipment that I've been trying to support and show you.
isn't like that. It's different.
It's a completely different ballgame for me.
But good equipment. I have an install where I just did this week.
Removing a furnace,
installing a heat pump. Nice equipment.
I put surge protectors on both of them.
I like that. The customers like it.
The tenants there are in love with it. They think it's the
best air conditioner they've ever had.
Now, if we can just get them to change their filter,
We'll be doing good.
We have a shout out to the ACIQ group.
It is a great product. Shout out to Marshall with ACIQ.
They do have decent products.
And in all honesty,
if you want to see a vote of confidence for the ACIQ product,
the Madea-made products that they are selling,
that y'all have seen me install,
the side discharge heat pumps with the inverter technology,
are the same ones that Carrier is offering
as their top-of-the-line side discharge units.
So if Carrier has put a stamp of approval on the very same thing
that I am selling and it's part of their Infinity series,
to me, that says it's not just a fly-by-night company.
This is the real deal.
This is some good, solid equipment.
Oh, hold a sec.
Nicole is in the house.
I wish I had a picture to show y'all of Nicole.
She's always got a smile on her face.
I kind of look forward to hanging out with Nicole in Chicago.
She's a blast.
I love this.
Nicole and Penny.
By the way, the video I did installing that new,
actually, it was the Essential series.
It's not the Extreme, just a condenser
and air handler in place of a furnace.
I did that a couple days ago, if you want to go back and look at it.
But yeah, I do like the ACIQ stuff.
I am.
And I did want to mention, because I have...
accepted a sponsorship with Jobber.
I told you I'll be working with them in the future. Y'all
are going to see some of their videos
and I want to try to keep everything just as clean as I've
done with all my videos.
But I did accept a sponsorship with them because it aligns perfectly
with my channel and it's something that I'm going
to be using every day. And no kidding what I said
about winning all my bids because of the new Jobber application.
That's no joke. I'm doing that.
All right. DCHVAC is in the house.
I have recently been texting with him on the Instagram.
I think he's got a video coming out.
I think he said tomorrow. Worth watching. So y'all tune in
to DCHVAC tomorrow. I think he's going to have a nice video for you.
I don't know if it's public
already. If it is, I'm sorry. Victor is in the house.
Victor and I met in Orlando. Good people.
Well, guys, today might go in like 20 minutes.
By the way, let me mention this little link
that y'all see in the corner up here.
That is my store with things that I use on my channel.
So please check it out.
Today might be a short one.
I didn't get a lot of sleep last night.
Stayed up watching movies
and then I couldn't go to sleep and I had to work today.
So, guys, y'all forgive me
if today's live is a short one.
I don't have a guest.
If y'all want to be a guest, drop me a message
on the Instagram or something like that.
Yeah, drop me a message on the Instagram
if you want to be a guest.
Thank
We can talk about anything, HVAC, blue collar, running a business.
The business has been better lately.
The summer has been kind of slow, but recently things have been better.
It's like a lot of...
Pent-up demand is finally coming through.
you.
I've got this one company
that I've dropped probably 100 estimates for in the last 60 days.
Pulling and cleanings,
everything just from preventive maintenances to whole new systems,
that they're starting to come to fruition,
and it's a lot to handle at one time.
A one-man business, you suddenly get approval on,
I don't know, what, $30,000 worth of it.
Worth of jobs and you just got to line them up,
put them on your schedule and start knocking
them out. And that's what I've been doing lately.
So I'm thankful to have the extra business. And
once again, I got to say some of that extra business has
been because I'm submitting my
estimates through Jobber. I am not making this up.
I was having trouble getting my estimates
I started using the Jobber platform.
Where I can show pictures of what I'm installing.
Actual pictures.
I actually look it up on the portal or on Google.
I pull a picture and I attach it to my estimate.
Looks real nice.
I like it a lot.
So if you want to sign up for Jobber, click in the description.
I'm just now starting to do this.
Guys, I enjoy everybody coming out.
Thank you for coming out.
This is going to be a short one.
Thank you, Nicole.
If Penny's in the house, make yourself known.
Let's see.
Somebody's making a comment here about the S-Man.
I carry the S-Man, and I do have analog gauges back up in my van.
I always have them.
Might not be any hoses hooked to them, and it might be off in a corner,
but I have some analog gauges.
That's what I learned on, and that's just what I have.
Carlos over at Freeze the Heat uses Jobber.
I like it.
You know, I thought I was going to have a little bit of a problem
with not having real sub-customers,
Or, but.
I found a workaround with that. I just put the parent customer,
put a colon, and then the address, and it works out just fine.
Anyway guys, I do hope you enjoyed the video today, the live.
Thanks for coming out.
