'We have made people pee their pants': Corner Brook haunted house raising money, and heart rates, for charity
Oct 30, 2026
With Halloween on the horizon,
lots of people are looking for a place to give them a good scare.
This haunted house behind me draws hundreds
of people here in Corner Brook.
And organizers say after not being able to secure a venue last year,
this year they're back and scarier than ever.
It is a haunted house where you come to get the fright of your life.
We have made people pee their pants before,
and you might be screaming the entire time you go through.
Swarms of people showed up opening night,
hoping to be the first ones to experience the thrill.
But this lucky group of friends were among the first people
who dared to enter.
It was petrifying. I cried a little, but it was fun.
It was really good.
It was the past few years. It wasn't as scary, but this one was tough.
Putting off a haunted house of this size is no small feat.
Organizer Amy Companion says she's got
a great group of volunteers behind her.
There is 55 people volunteering this year,
and we spent every single night here since September,
I believe the 15th,
every night and probably like three to four hours a night.
And all of these screams are for a good cause.
All proceeds go to the Kids Eat Smart Foundation.
Over three years, House of Horrors has raised $78,000.
Companion hates being scared.
Now she looks forward to the long hours spent putting things together.
I wouldn't change it for the world because to get people out
and see the community involvement,
it's really nothing like it. This is my favorite time of year.
And they'll be back to keep the scary times going next year.
