James Kaufman will news report today.
NOAA warns about dangerous sunspot coming around the limb.
A potentially dangerous sunspot
is emerging over the sun's southeastern limb.
Yesterday, while it was still partially eclipsed by the edge
of the sun, it produced an impulsive M6-class solar flare.
The true value of the flare was probably an X-class flare,
but again, luckily,
partially eclipsed by the edge of our sun.
Here is that solar flare and associated
coronal mass ejection.
A pulse of extreme ultraviolet radiation from this flare ionized
Earth's upper atmosphere,
producing a shortwave radio blackout over the South Pacific Ocean.
Radio transmissions at frequencies below 20 megahertz.
Ground out around 2222 UTC time on November 28th.
This is the same behemoth sunspot
that Mars rover Perseverance saw from Jezero crater last week.
Now it is turning towards Earth.
Strong geo-effective flares are increasingly likely
as the sunspot lines up with our planet in the days ahead.
Now with that said, here is the M6 flare from yesterday.
Probably an X-Flare eclipsed by the incoming limb of our solar disk
and since then we've actually had
four additional M-Flares. One, two, three, four.
The last one just occurring
and coming in at around an M3 solar flare.
Even wilder this one sunspot.
Has increased the baseline to the highest I remember seeing it here.
Running a baseline in between the high 2s and mid 3s here.
It's a really, really high baseline.
So when we do see activity,
it's going to be real easy to climb into that M and X territory.
With that sort of baseline all being caused by that one sunspot.
And here we have it. We actually have a beta gamma sunspot over here
that's just formed or become more complex. AR4291.
We have two simple sunspots. AR4288 and 4290.
And then we have the behemoth that probably is at least beta gamma.
They haven't gotten a real good look at it.
They haven't marked it simple.
AR-4294 is bringing the party to you.
God bless, folks.
Please share, please subscribe,
and always remember, anything's possible.
Bizarro world.
