All right. Let's break down your weather headlines as we roll closer
to a Halloween weekend. Some spotty late rain tonight and tomorrow.
I think tomorrow it will likely favor the afternoon and evening hours.
So that certainly could have an impact.
On Friday night high school football, the rain Saturday will mainly
be during the morning hours, probably early afternoon,
then should dry quickly as we head through mid to late afternoon.
We're in for a warm, dry Sunday, a little bit of sunshine,
and then more showers and thunderstorms come our way Monday night.
And we actually do need the rain.
We got off to a wet start the first couple of days in October. In fact,
The lion's share of that 3.94-inch total occurred during
the first couple of days.
Since then, it's been very dry,
and our deficit now for the year is over 4.5 inches.
Speaking of Friday night football,
we're looking at temperatures starting out in the upper 60s at kickoff,
provided your game is right around 7 p.m.
And then by the time we reach the end of the game,
look for temperatures to slide down to around 65.
Cloudy with some on and off light rain.
We really don't see anything too heavy falling.
As we look ahead then to Halloween itself,
in particular, trick-or-treating hour.
Six o'clock will be in the low 70s
by eight o'clock down into the upper 60s
with partly to mostly cloudy skies.
So pleasant temperatures, very light winds.
And again, I think the rain should be out of here by then.
79 today's high, 68 the low.
That is well above the average for this time of the year.
We're still in the upper 60s to right around 70, 70 at Love Field.
Elsewhere, 67 Corsicana and Bowie. It's 70 at Bonham,
71 at Sulphur Springs, and 69 at this hour in Canton.
So what we're seeing here on Doppler radar is very spotty light rain
moving across Denton, northern Denton and northern Collin counties.
Also around the Terrell area, this is only going
to produce maybe a few hundredths of an inch of rain.
That's it as it continues to drift off to the north.
We expand the view and you can see more widespread rain down around
Abilene, San Angelo and Del Rio associated with our next disturbance.
That'll be moving in as we head through the day on Friday.
We look at Futurecast here and again,
just some spotty light rain overnight tonight.
I do believe the coverage is going
to be a little more than we see indicated here with
this computer model.
We'll see, I think, an uptick in coverage late Friday afternoon
and Friday evening
as that disturbance starts to approach from the southwest.
There's Friday at 9 o'clock tomorrow night.
And then Saturday, one final disturbance will quickly move through.
So we'll see some scattered showers
Saturday morning through about midday.
And then that disturbance quickly moves off to our east.
And so will the rain. We should be dry for Saturday night.
Looking ahead, Sunday, mostly cloudy skies.
It'll be warm. Temperature's up around 80 degrees.
And then another upper level low that'll be dumping heavy snow
in parts of Colorado is going to dive southeastward early next week.
With an attendant cold front there,
I think we're going to see a line of showers and storms.
Monday night, probably into the morning hours of Election Day Tuesday.
That will also quickly move off during the afternoon hours to our east. So
If you're looking for a better time to go to the polls on Tuesday,
we would probably favor at this point in time the midday
and afternoon portion into the early evening.
And then behind that system, it should turn very nice.
There's your seven-day forecast.
Mid-70s, Friday and on Halloween.
Don't forget to turn those clocks back one hour on Saturday night.
Sunday, 81, 82 Monday.
Best chance of showers
and storms next week will be Monday night into Tuesday morning.
That'll be followed by breezy
and cooler weather on Wednesday with a high of 72.
